About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Dawn H0 contributionsFabulous, customized tour to Iguazu FallsMauro Levin was very helpful (and patient) helping us customize our fantastic tour to Iguazu Falls. We ended up also doing the Argentine Experience and Itaipu Dam, both of which we really enjoyed. The private guide that was assigned, Ricardo, was dynamite, with excellent communication and guidance. He picked us up from the airport and was with us every step of the way, taking us back to the airport as well, even helping us at the counter with the check-in. Thank you, Ripio Turismo. Your excellent reviews are well deserved.Written 27 November 2024
- Go4314680 contributionsMiss information to the max - DON’T BOOKLots of miss information about this tour. I asked before booking if guests could enjoy the 4x4 ride but not go on the boat, I was told YES but when we arrived to the meeting point the tour operators said that wasn’t possible and therefore we wasted $125…need a refund on this TripAdvisor. Poor communication on where we were supposed to meet even after I reached out to the booking agent for additional info and NO ONE responded day off to clarify. Vouchers do NOT show true name of the tour company and park staff did not recognize the company name. We basically had to wonder around until we stumbled upon the meeting point. Actual boat tour was GREAT but overall experience was very poor and therefore would NOT recommend anyone book this through TripAdvisor.Written 14 November 2024
- perfy770 contributionsAmazing FallsIt’s amazing…you can’t lose with the falls iin the Brazil or Argentina side. The price of admission is very reasonable. There are three exits from the park bus from the entrance; 1. Excursions 2. Main trail (recommended) excellent panoramic views. 3. Short trail to falls. There is a bird sanctuary across the street that is amazing. The Argentina side has 3 trails, upper, lower and Devils Throat. If you are limited in time I would recommend leaving upper trail out…although it is still a very good one.Written 9 September 2024
- AaronPollNYC_230 contributionsFind a better tour company option in IguazuHonestly, not great. TLDR: they don't really care about you having a good time and ignore very important details, and make a lot of mistakes. We went to Iguazu Falls. Maybe our representative wasn't experienced, or maybe he just didn't care. There were so many mistakes made, and all of them were avoidable. We had a group of four, but not all together - two groups of two, one couple coming from NYC and one couple from Chicago. My flight from NYC was delayed, which should be no issue for a tour company. But the the Chicago group was on time. So they messed up the pickup, and the Chicago group was stuck at the airport for an hour because Ripio cancelled their pickup, even though they were on time. Ok, bad start. Then they charged $39 per person to go to the first stop which was billed as a "half city tour and visit the 3 frontier landmark". There was no "half city tour" and the "visit" was basically nothing. No instruction, no assistance, we just parked there and walked around for 5 minutes. Next up: we booked a sunset boat cruise for night one, but it was cancelled due to weather. That's fine, but then he moved it to Tuesday and moved our Tango dinner show from Tuesday to Wednesday. Two problems here: the boat cruise was pretty bad, mostly senior citizens. And the tango show ended at 11pm on Wednesday...but we had a 2:15am pickup on Thursday to get to the airport. So he should have just left the tango show on Tuesday night and either cancelled the boat cruise or moved it from Monday to Wednesday, since it ended earlier in the night than the tango show. Or just tell us the boat cruise is for old people and let us decide. An experienced tour guide would have known not to book a late-night activity, when we had a flight so early the next morning. He had all the details, and clearly just wanted to check boxes instead of make sure we had a good time. All in all I wouldn't recommend them.Written 29 May 2024
- mjmostek0 contributionsAvoid Iguazu tours, maybe this company. We booked the Full Moon Puerto Iguaza tour. It was advertised as a small group tour of 15-20 people, which I thought justified the added cost versus booking directly with the park. Nope. They just drop you off at the entrance and you go on a tour with 150-200 people. Essentially you pay 150US for a 30 cab ride.Written 7 April 2024
- albertsL6404BI0 contributionsAmazing viewsBoth tours were wonderful. The guide Junior on the Argentina side was fabulous. He was very accommodating and so informative. The same goes for Macca, our guide on the Brazil side. Well worth visiting both sides.Written 6 April 2024

- 778samo0 contributionsBest way to spend evening in IguazuWe had such a fun time! Can't imagine a better way to spend an evening in Puerto Iguazu. Enjoyed meeting the other guests as we engaged in cocktail mixing, empanada folding, and dining on a wide-array of appetizers and main meal, which included the most delicious filet mignon we've ever eaten. Our two hosts, Bruno and Mateo, were fantastic hosts and added a lot of fun to the evening. This experience stands out as a highlight in our 16-day trip and will be talked about for a long time to come!Written 2 March 2024

- jmegwr0 contributionsVisit to both sides iguazu falls with manual wheelchirMy husband (76) can walk only a few steps so I pushed him in his manual wheelchair to both sides of the falls. Tours were $350 per person for 2 days--after reading the forum, decided to use a taxi. We took a taxi from the airport offered with the set price of 15000 to town to drop off luggage, then realized the falls were closer than the town, so had the taxi driver take us to the falls, where he facilitated my husband's free entrance (Argentinean law). I should have also been free as his companion but we did not have a certificate of handicappedness, so 2 for 1. The top circuit is closed. Pushed him around the superior circuit, mostly a grated path, ok for WC, not too much up and down. Views were ok--from the top looking down on different falls. Near the end a Brazilian man offered to push him--it was hot, I was tired--and he pushed him the rest of the way. After lunch, set off for the inferior circuit. Lots of vague signage and going up and down looking for the path-- the kind of thing one would not notice were one not pushing a WC in 90-degree heat-- before finally realizing the trail began down a VERY steep hill which I knew I could never push him back up, so he waited for me in the shaded lunch area. The inferior circuit was an almost flat grated path with better views than the superior. A golf cart for the truly handicapped would have made it accessible. Paid 35000, ie $30, for transport from the airport to the park, storing luggage in taxi trunk, and then transport to town. seemed ok, so didn't bargain. Next day our driver picked us up at 8:30--our choice, he suggested 730--took us to the Brazilian side across 2 borders, waited for us 2 1/2 hours, then took us back across borders to a gas station where we were picked up for another trip. Cost 45000. Did not bargain. Handicapped's only advantage, at least with a taxi: is going to the front of the line. On the Brazilian side, we took the bus- into the park. I got off at the path and my husband took it to the end. The walk to the falls was in the shade of the hill and very pleasant with nice views. Had stairs so impractical with chair. No real signs but at the elevator, you are near the bus stop. I found my husband and walked back up to the building then DOWN to the elevator. I advise taking the downhill shadier path into the elevator building to avoid a steepish hot path, which I did not know til I did the opposite as NO SPECIFIC SIGNS.. But--HOW GREAT!-they have a panoramic elevator to get close to the falls, which otherwise would be inaccessible. I pushed him to the last platform beside the falls, There was a lower grated path directly in front of the fall, EXTREMELY crowded, think Times Square on Saturday night. I could have probably taken him there but he declined. We returned on the non-panoramic elevator and walked (Up through the sun) to the bus stop. My only regret is that I later discovered an 8 km hiking trail starting at the visitor center on Argentinian Falls. I would have loved to walk on it, but as my husband had already had to wait for me, sadly impractical. Cost for 2 days: taxi 80000--about $ 68, plus entrance fees The experience was truly pricelessWritten 21 February 2024
- 204alanm0 contributionsSuperb Argentina travel experienceI was a little nervous after selecting Ripio Turismo online but this business is 100% genuine, superb hotels, flights and arrangements. I was collected from airports & hotels, great trips arranged, excellent dinner show. They handled everything in a first class manner also very competitive prices, will book other South American trips with themWritten 17 February 2024
- Ilonka K0 contributionsFun day ! Highly recommend the horse back riding .Fully enjoyed the day ! Beautiful property and learned about the history of the ranch. We watched a demonstration of sheep herding and shearing. Participated in milking a cow as well as watching 2 rancheros competing in a horse barrel race. We added the 3 hour horse back ride and so glad we did. The luncheon was also Very good and plentiful .Written 29 January 2024
- Zantino0 contributionsLet down by TurisurVERY poor communication from the local agency. I requested an alternative pick- up to their office in Bariloche, as we were staying along the road towards the start point of the excursion. I received no response to 2 e-mails, and ended up driving to and from the starting point myself, and pay for parking, despite having paid for the transfer. That in itself was not the issue, but the failure of the company to respond was unacceptable. The trip itself was OK, but very much a herd experience. The scenery is dramatic and beautiful.Written 29 January 2024
- Dreamer593694806220 contributionsGreat way to spend the day!Fun day! The train ride was beautiful and informative. Quick stop to see the waterfall. Gorgeous scenery and loved seeing wild horses. The afternoon boat ride through the Beagle Channel was very pretty. Got to see so many birds and sea lions and the lighthouse. Enjoyed the quick stop and walk around on the island. A bit pricey but the whole day was really fun and a great way to spend the day and see the area!Written 28 January 2024
- SunilNet0 contributionsTwo day Iguazu Fall tourThe arrangements made by Lucia Rubio were prompt and professional. The taxi and airline booking were done well. Having traveled from California, we had to prompt the taxis and agent the day before to verify the appointment to feel comfortable. But they were prompt and courteous. The tour guide was good and knowledgeable. We covered amazing views from Argentina's and Brazil’s sides of the Iguazu Falls, including a helicopter tour. The weather also cooperated to make our trip comfortable and enjoyable. Overall, the trip was excellent.Written 24 January 2024

Absolutely amazing experience walking through this area full of penguins and their cute little babies! The trip was well organized, we received good information and everything flowed smoothly. The focus was just on the penguins, no other visits along the way, which was what we were after.

This was one of the best excursions we went on during our month-long trip. It was a cloudless sky and 80 degrees, not the type of weather that you think about when you think about penguins. The first few penguins we saw looked very hot and miserable, many were standing under the bridge walkway just to get in the shade. Once we got to the ocean and saw the penguins in their natural habitat of the ocean, they looked totally different, happy and very active. There were thousands of penguins, mostly on the beach but also up on the hillside and everywhere we looked around their little dug out cave which was just deep enough to get them out of the direct sun and give the babies some shade as well. The babies and young penguins looked so cute, in the hour and fifteen minutes that we had I am sure I took several hundred pictures. The best area is on down where the bridge separates and one goes to the inlet and the other goes to the ocean overlook, be sure to do both directions. Go to this part first because it is by far the most photogenic and you have limited time if you are on a tour. Most of your pictures will be taken at the most distant point. That way you can judge how long it will take you to get back to the busses. It is a wonderful spot and although expensive it is worth every penny of it.

There were many penguins. We also saw guanacos, hares and mules.
In my opinion, so much travel is wasted to go only 2 hours to the penguin colony.

Don't book tour for Punta Tombo or other Puerto Madryn tours on the web! There are plenty of tour business in Puerto Madryn, and they are open all the time, also late at night in the weekends. You can book trips with a bigger bus, a minivan or private car. The cost when booking locally is less than half the price from booking on the web, via Tripadvisor. I booked the Punta Tombo tour on the web and paid 170 USD. The tour was then in turn arranged by a travel agency, RipioTurismo in Buenos Aires which did not communicate, did not respond to mails and had a Spanish only switchboard (I don't speak Spanish). I anyway figured out from the web site, I would be picked up by a local guide at 7.15 from the hotel. No-one came to pick me up however and by 9 I went with another Punta Tombo-tour, arranged on the spot by a guide who was picking up another couple of people. I paid 60 USD for a day with an excellent English-speaking guide in a mini-van. So Madryn is easy-going and you don't need to worry to arrange beforehand. There are plenty of tours to choose from and not expensive. Don't book tours online through Tripadvisor/RipioTurismo since they may rip you off as happened to me.

Dear Solotraveller679,
First of all, thank you very much for your feedback. I have spoken with our local partner in Puerto Madryn, and they left the day before of your tour, the pickup time at the front desk in your Hotel, that was 8.45 AM. The next morning, the guide and driver went to pick you up on time, and you wouldn´t in the Hotel, so as this is a group tour and more people were waiting, they continued.
For future bookings, in the voucher, there are an Emergency Phone number and the Provider´s Phone Number where you can reach for any doubt.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience and misunderstood, and we hope you have enjoyed the destination.
Regards,
Magui
