About
Among the innumerable options that the Nahuel Huapi National Park offers, there is a little-known route but no less spectacular for that.
From Bahía López, 25 km from Bariloche, you can get to the Brazo Tristeza by motor boat. There, if the day is clear, you can see the glaciers at the top of Cerro Tronador, the highest in the park. When we reach the end of this Arm, we descend to land to walk a path through a dense forest, in which species known as the coihue and the cane alternate. Then we arrive at the Frey Stream Cascade. The flow of this stream varies according to the time of year, producing a peculiar and characteristic sound, which is generated when the water runs between wells, on a bed of rock polished by years of erosion.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 113oanam0 contributionsGreat Day trip to the 7 lakes and San Martin de los AndesThe day started with the Guide picking us up from in front of the hotel, it’s a good idea to leave your mobile number when booking the trip because it was super easy to stay in contact with the agency. The omnibus that picked us up was a very clean one, air conditioning and we made sufficient stops on the way to take photos and enjoy the scenery. Isis, our guide, made the trip very interesting for us, she told us stories of the lake’s names, history of the area, history of Nahuel Huapis national park, its emblem, story about Lanin national park and its emblem. We stayed in San Martin de los Andes city and enjoyed walking around, having lunch and spending some time by the lake. This was a great time to spend the day in Patagonia.Written 17 January 2025
- monikanL5873BQ0 contributionsBest panorama in BarilocheAmazing spot! The best place to see surroundings and beautiful panorama. I loved this place the most in Bariloche. Don’t miss it! I would recommend taking a short hike to the hill instead of elevators. Hike is short and less people. It’s 1 km uphill. Not too hard.Written 14 January 2025
- cristinacS9418ZO0 contributionsChecking the iceThe layout of the complex is beautiful, full of energy . We couldn’t take the lift since the line was so long. The runs were icy since the last snow came 3 week ago.Written 9 August 2024
- Y1027DLrachelg0 contributionsGorgeous views! The ferry was very full and was a pretty ride. The woman on board made it very easy to know when to disembark and where to head. We did the Frias Lake and it was so pretty! It was like a sea-foam green color and wonderful to look at. We had about 30 minutes a the port there and then opted to walk back to Puerto Blest instead of taking the bus back. I love otters and we were trying to find some (we didn't). We then took in all of Puerto Blest. Very pretty teal water. We then did the Cantaros Waterfall, which was nice. We had come back from Iguazu, so this wasn't as vast or impressive, but was still really pretty! Nice tour!Written 30 March 2024

A very nice excursion lasting 4 hours. Navigation from Puerto López (with breakfast included) until reaching the Valdivian jungle, where you can hike (low difficulty) to the Frey waterfall (very beautiful). 100% recommended

Gracias!!
