Overview
A sightseeing flight tour from Phoenix helps to show the vastness of the Grand Canyon in a way that a ground tour can’t. On this trip, take off in a high-winged plane that offers unobstructed views of the red rock labyrinth below. Upgrade to the longer tour and you land in Grand Canyon National Park and enjoy a guided Jeep tour of the rim, plus lunch.
What to Expect
Your morning begins with a safety briefing at the Phoenix Deer Valley Airport. You travel comfortably in either a Cessna Caravan or T207 where every seat is a window seat with unobstructed views of the scenery below.
On the 3-hour round-trip flight from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon, your pilot flies at an altitude perfect for sightseeing. From the air, you have a clear view of the red rock canyons of Sedona, the rugged cactus-covered Tonto National Forest, and the Painted Desert’s multicolored formations.
Upgrade to the ground tour option to experience a landing in Grand Canyon National Park and a Jeep tour of the rim. Here you stroll through the historic Grand Canyon Village and gaze into the the Grand Canyon from one of the rim’s many overlooks. You also enjoy lunch in the park before heading back to the Grand Canyon Airport for the flight back to Phoenix.

I had a great time on the flight. I was able to ride shotgun both ways since I was a solo traveler. Bryce was very knowledgeable about the area and was super sweet when I got air sick. He was also very attuned to when...More
