Itinerary

Monteverde is home to more than 400 bird species and El Bosque is perfectly located at the heart of the Monteverde Biological Corridor Pajaro Campana, which is extremely important for the survival of many highly endangered species such as the Resplendent Quetzal, the Three-Wattled Bellbird and many other creatures that come here when the wild avocados are no longer found in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve.

With the proper equipment and the keen eye of a local expert, it is easy to spot and learn about as many as 30 bird species with us. You might spot a Toucan, a MotMot, and depending on how much wild avocado is available on the trees, even a Trogon or a Quetzal. You may also find a few types of Hummingbirds in our beautiful gardens or a Bellbird perched up in a tree.

Jesús (our guide - Spanish language) was excellent. He knew the best spot along the trail where to find a given bird. He also adapted to our expectations, skipping the species that we already saw and looking for new ones! He has a great skill for finding birds and aiming the

Hola Nelida, It was great to have you with us. You are exactly the type of customer we are made for, travelers who are looking for a less touristy, more authentic experience. Phew! What a relief to hear that. Jesus told me that you kept him pretty busy and that at one point he felt a bit overwhelmed, unsure as to whether or not he would be able to meet your expectations so I am sure he will be very happy when I share your comment with him :) Thank you! We need more folks like you who support small businesses. Since we only run tours for very small groups (to preserve nature and to provide a more personal service), we will inevitably continue to be a small business and so we need more customers like you who put their trust in our hands. I've been here for a while and I am positive that we are delivering a great service, something different, a great balance between personal service and cost. Our groups for Bird-watching tours for example are limited to only 4 tourists. So you get a VERY personal service, WITHOUT paying a huge premium for a private tour. In fact, it feels exactly like a private tour but you pay half of what a private tour would cost. That's what makes us special :) Cheers, Daniel Lalinde, Manager

The spot selected to do the tour is very good because it has great visibility and different landscapes, so you can watch from small hummingbirds to tucans without walking long distances. Our guide Roiner is experienced and helped us to locate many different birds and distinguish

Hello Tania, This is Daniel, the owner. Thank you for your review. You are exactly right. What makes our tour special is not only our great guides (and yes, Roiner is one of our rockstars, his professionalism, friendliness, equipment and keen eye work pretty well) and delicious breakfast included but more importantly, our location. El Bosque is a small forest set aside for conservation. It is part of the Biological Corridor Pajaro Campana, which is extremely important for the survival of many highly endangered species such as the Resplendent Quetzal, the Three-Wattled Bellbird and many other creatures that come here for food supply when the wild avocados are no longer found in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve. When you stay in our lodge (or as in your case, when you stay somewhere else but you do one of our onsite tours) you help us preserve this nature paradise. Thank you again for your participation and your review! Cheers, Daniel Lalinde, Manager
