Overview
This grand Golden Circle tour takes you to the most popular sights where you can experience the three highlights of the South West of Iceland: Geysir, Gulfoss Waterfall and Þingvellir National Park. Plus you will visit the volcanic crater lake Kerið.
Highlights
  • Visit the classic Golden Circle sights and more in a day from Reykjavik
  • See Gullfoss waterfall, the Thingvellir tectonic rift, and Geysir’s spouts
  • View the Kerid crater lake, a stop missed out on similar tours
  • Learn the history and science of the sites from a guide
  • Admissions and hotel or port pickup and drop-off included
  • Great for first-time visitors and those short on time
What to Expect
After pickup from your central Reykjavik hotel or Reykjavik cruise port, settle into your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle with a guide and travel into Iceland’s countryside to see the Golden Circle sights. First up is the near-neon blue Kerid crater lake. Continue to Gullfoss, whose name means 'Golden Falls,’ and take in this stunning, tiered waterfall as it plunges 105 feet (32 meters) into the Hvita River. From there, travel to Geysir geothermal area, an expanse of bubbling pools, vents, and geysers. Explore here and see the most active hot spring, Strokkur, steaming water 98 feet (30 meters) into the air every eight minutes. From here, visit the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, home to a rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Learn how the plates are slowly moving apart, and see their exposed ridges. After this final stop, travel back to Reykjavik where your tour concludes at the original departure point.

We had a great tour with our guide, Frosti. That's not his real name, but he joked that his name was unpronounceable, and said to call him Frosti. He was excellent, very knowledgeable and discussed Iceland's geography, history, and customs for the entire tour. The...More

You get off at the listed stops. Plus some time to explore. Not just photo op time.
