      Worst wildlife park I've visited
One of the worst wildlife parks I've visited. The enclosures was small poorly built and disgusting. Some animals was knee deep in mud . The path to walk on was unstable and slippery . Would not recommend and definitely not worth £13.50 entry .

      Overpriced and disappointing
Granted it was a terrible day -however we LOVE animals and this did not stop us. We’ve also been to a lot of farms/wildlife parks and zoos from the big to the small and family run. There is a potentially exciting cat behind the counter but the lady on reception didn’t engage with my young son or tell us about it until we asked what it was. We had to persuade same member of staff that the offer with Kids Pass to have two free children enter with two paying adults was correct. Just to compare two adult tickers are the same price as WHOLE family entering Wolds (they have Lions & Bears and here are mostly foxes!) We were given a nice map that has. Child friendly offer of finding stamps to gain a prize. We saw not one place to stamp as we went around. After a staff member said that you « had to know what you were looking for » . Hmm. No pointed gained. The Artic foxes are sweet but enclosures in general look sad -or are with difficult to see through glass. I expected to spend 2/3 hours there based on price but we left after just over an hour. All reviews on close inspection are of experiences … My advice would be go to Lincolnshire Wildlife Park or Wolds!

      Not open on a Thursday
I drove over an hour to be told it is closed. Told I could go back another time but my granddaughters were going home the following day. So lost £40 so not happy.

      Meerkats are Awesome
The Meerkat Experience was brilliant. They are inquisitive, adorable creatures; ate out of our hands, climbed on us like trees, and sat on us. You could tell the Zookeepers love them and their jobs. Thank you for a great experience.

      Meerkat encounter
Did the meerkat encounter and had so much fun, learnt a lot about the meerkats and they loved the attention! Then walked around the rest of the wildlife park which was amazing.

      Best day ever !!
Me and my partner did the meerkat encounter experience and it was honestly the best experience ever!!! The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, despite a power cut which meant the reptile area was closed it was still super fun. It was really nice to see all the animals with so much room to explore in and so many toys , which I feel is rare to see in other animal parks. The animal keeper who did our encounter was so lovely and told us so many things about the meerkats and answered all our questions. Would highly recommend this place!!!

      Amazing staff and exceptional value
I booked the ultimate experience for my daughter on her 21st birthday. The journey up to the park was going very badly with the drive going from just over 4 hours to an expected almost six whilst en route! In a panic we called the park to explain and they were amazing, reassuring us that we could still attend despite arriving well past the booked time. On arrival the greeting was warm and friendly, the keeper that accompanied us on the 3 chosen experiences was knowledge, friendly and helped make my daughters special day one to remember. Thank you all so much for providing such exceptional service and ensuring my daughter had a magical experience with animals she truly loves. The look on her face was worth the long journey there and back. Would recommend a visit to this very worthwhile park that provides much needed care for rescued exotic animals.

      Skunk Experience - Highly Recommended
The Ark is a lovely little animal sanctuary sheltering rescue animals of all descriptions, run by caring, knowledgeable and enthusiastic keepers. We went for the skunk experience and were absolutely thrilled with it all. We were welcomed by their keeper who gave us an overview of the skunks, explained why they were there at the park (ex-pets...seriously, who decides to have a skunk as a pet?!) and prepared their food enrichment of mealworms in feeding devices that encouraged them to work for their food to ensure stimulation. The 3 skunks went about their feeding in a beautifully relaxed manner whilst we chatted with the keeper, and allowed us to interact with them, before taking one of them, Obi, for a walk around the park. We were encouraged to let him do his own thing, go wherever he felt he wanted to go and investigate whatever he wanted. He appeared 100% relaxed and unphased throughout with us. The care and attention they were shown by the keepers was heart-warming and we came away with the feeling that all these animals are now in a place where they can get the attention and rehabilitation they deserve. I can't recommend this experience highly enough. Please do go and visit the park and help fund their amazing work for the welfare of these neglected animals.

      Excellent Skunk Encounter for Two...
Me and my daughter loved the experience. The keeper was knowledgable and helped to get us up close to the skunks without feeling like we were disturbing them. We learned a lot about them and the misconceptions around them and we couldn't believe how soft and fluffy they are! All of the animals in the park seem well cared for and the place has a warm, family-run feel. It was quite shocking to realise how many exotic animals are being neglected in the UK and it's good to know places like this are helping to care for them. We had a great day and won't hesitate to come back again.

Excellent for the zoo, disappointing café
We have been many times, and it is a lovely animal sanctuary. Sometimes you do not see all the animals, but if you wait a little while they sometimes can be seen It is quite small zoo but the animals are well looked after, and appear to be happy and health. My only negative is that the café is very disappointing now, the quality of the food is disappointing, and is very expense for what you get. We have now started taking picnics, as the last meal we had was nearly £30 for cake and sandwiches,(for 2 people) with a cup of tea each. I realise the cost of living as gone up, but this seems very high, you don't even get a little salad with it unless you pay extra. But the zoo side of things I would defiantly recommend

      Ark Wildlife review
I stumbled across this park online, as my son wanted to see animals. When we got to the place, I wasn’t sure whether we was in someone front garden/drive at first, but once I saw the cars parked I felt reassured. Once we got in, there was a dinosaur trail which I thought was a fun way to get the kids involved following a little toy at the end. My son loved every minute of it of being here, he loved seeing the meerkats, crocodiles and foxes. The park was full of fascinating creatures. We’ll definitely be visiting again soon. It was definitely worth the visit, my son left with a massive smile. Family friendly, especially for younger ones.

We had the best day out at Ark. We had the meet Foxes experience and it was amazing! Jamie who led the experience was incredibly knowledgeable and we fell in love with the beautiful Sox the red fox.
They provide homes for animals rescued from owners who cannot care for them, RSPCA neglect cases, animals seized by HM Customs and even animals freed from laboratory testing. They give them a safe environment to live out the rest of their lives and don't breed or profit from them.
If you are expecting facilities equal to Chester Zoo or the like you will be a little dissapointed but remember that zoo's only keep animals for profit and entertainment.
If you want a great day out with friendly staff passionate about animal welfare then Ark is the place for you - every penny is spent on the animals they care for.
We will definitely be going again and I would highly recommend visiting them and supporting their work.

Can’t recommend highly enough. The park is a lovely little place doing great work looking after all the rescued animals, & what a great mix of animals there are! From monkeys to goats, foxes to meerkats & everything in between. The keepers are really lovely too, super friendly & really knowledgable about all their different species.

We did the fox encounter, which lasted about half an hour & was great. The weather was very hot so unfortunately the foxes were pretty sleepy & wanting to be in the shade ha! But had a few strokes, a few nibbles & learnt all about them. If you’re interested in this, I would say maybe go when the temperature is cooler as the foxes might be a bit more lively!

Tasty, well priced food at the cafe too & I think there’s an area where you can bring your own picnic as well.

We’re not from the area & don’t have a car so got a taxi from Boston town centre, which cost around £18 each way for 2 of us.

Would definitely recommend a visit & would certainly come back! Great for families & couples.

We did the Arctic Fox experience for two, a new experience they are offering (it wasn't on the drop down option so had to select this one)

Car park isn't ideal for low cars with a few potholes and mainly grass to park on.

We were first welcomed by Raccoons then met by a Serval before meeting a staff member...amazing!

The staff here were great and there's a lovely selection of wild cats and farm animals to see. Everything is laid out nicely and you can spend half a day here.

The food facilities aren't the best but it is clear this is a new business and they are still clearly growing and I can't wait to see them grow.

The arctic fox experience was great. First we prepped their food then went into their enclose with them to throw the food and watch them eat. You cannot pet or handle these guys! They are wild at the end of the day and not meant for human handling.

Will return in the future to see how far they've grown.

My favourite part... the book at reception that tells you where every single animal has come from.

We visited Ark wildlife park during half term week for the Fox encounter for two. Despite rubbish weather, we had a wonderful morning and managed to spend a good 3+ hours wandering around and seeing all of the animals before our fox encounter. I should say, we don't have any children so were perhaps more able to walk leisurely a few times around the park than families with children may be able to.

The wildlife park does a good job of sharing the stories of the animals they care for and teaching a bit about the common consequences of people keeping exotic animals as pets. Given that a lot of the animals have had difficult pasts, the majority appeared more than happy with their new life at the animal park!

The fox encounter itself was amazing! It was great to be able to go into the enclosures and see the animals a bit more up close and personal. We were able to go into two red fox enclosures. In the first enclosure, we met Shadow (pictured) who was cautious but did come and say hello. The famous 'Sox' was more interested in his dinner (fair enough!) so we then went to see Dexter and a beautiful white (Red) fox who proudly came to show us her prize too (a chicken leg?). As none of the foxes were feeling too sociable on the day of our visit, the keeper also took us to feed some eggs to the arctic fox pups which they thoroughly enjoyed (as did we!)

Seeing the arctic fox pups (now fully grown but still cute!) were definitely a highlight for us! Especially seeing them first thing in the morning, all fluffy and white, compared to how muddy they'd got themselves after a day of running around in the rain!

The fox encounter at Ark Wildlife Park was a wonderful experience. We travelled over from the York area, and despite a long drive it was an easy one. From first entering the park the staff were very helpful and friendly.

We arrived a couple of hours early to look around before our encounter (park entry is included with the encounter). It was really nice to see all of the different animals with some of our favourites being the meerkats and the pig. All of the animals in the park are rescues, mostly from the pet trade, and people who did not know how to look after them properly. Reading about their starts in life is really eye opening, but it is lovely to see how well looked after, and adored they are by the staff.

After looking around we had some food in the cafe whilst we waited for our encounter. The food was very nice and reasonably priced. The cafe had a small menu with sandwiches and toasties, and there were also some cakes and sausage rolls on offer. There were also a few picnic benches around the park if you wanted to take your own food with you.

We started our fox encounter by making up some treat boxes for them. We met Dexter and Lana, both beautiful foxes with very different personalities. Dexter loved a fuss and sat by us the whole time watching whilst the keeper told us all about the foxes, the trade of foxes in the UK and, the circumstances behind how these foxes came to be at the park. Lana spent this time running around excited for her snack. The keeper was very informative and answered all of our questions. She was very passionate about the foxes and the work that they are doing at the park to rescue and protect all of these animals. She was very respectful of the foxes and, explained that everything is done at their pace. They are never forced to do anything they don’t want to do. Both my partner and I got to stroke and fuss Dexter, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We had a lovely time watching them rummage through the boxes we made up for them, looking for the insects, and the whole experience was really heartwarming.

All in all, we had an amazing day out which really made an impact on both my partner and I. We have already discussed going back again in the future for one of the other animal encounters.

As a side note, due to the recent weather, the ground in some areas was quite muddy so remember to wear your boots or wellies. However, if you do forget they have a range of wellies from kids sizes to adults that can be borrowed whilst in the park.

Absolutely loved our trip here the other day! The staff are all really lovely and they had a lot of precautions in place for Coronavirus. The staff are also really knowledgeable on the animals, so definitely recommend talking to them if you get the chance. You can tell that they all have the animal's welfare at heart which is so lovely to see.
Our fox encounter was also so amazing! We could not fault it at all. Was so lovely to be up close to them, even got to tickle Sox! Highly recommend going, even if it is just a standard day trip!

My partner and I visited the Ark for a Fox Encounter, one of many activities that offer a close and more personal experience with the animals. We arrived a couple of hours earlier so we could enjoy all the park has to offer. All the staff were very approachable, friendly and knowledgeable in answering the many questions we had. A very clean and protective environment is provided for all the animals. They are obviously very well cared for. The on site cafe and facilities were lovely and clean with a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Various light snacks and drinks on offer. The park is very well laid out making navigation easy with board walks installed where necessary for ease of pushchair use etc. It is not a very big place but there is enough to see to keep you engaged for a couple or three hours (depending if you read all of the information cards posted for each animal!).
Our Fox Encounter was with Dexter and Lana, two red foxes that aren't actually red!? We filled a couple of potato sacks with hay/straw, adding a big handful of live mealworms to each then off to the enclosure we went. The two foxes were happy to engage with us both although Lana isn't very receptive to being petted. We did get to give Dexter a good scratching behind his ear and ruffle his fur as you do. We then gave them each a bag of hay, it was fascinating and very entertaining to watch their natural behaviours. They both dragged out all the straw containing the worms and proceeded to pounce into the straw for their prize. Chasing each other around the enclosure gekking at one another. We did giggle! Our guide for the session was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about foxes answering all our questions with ease. Keep up the good work Sam!
People that leave negative reviews need to wake up or educate themselves. This park rescues exotic animals that people one day thought might make an interesting pet and then don't have a clue what to do with them in time when it turns out, they are very wild animals! Who buys their 13 year old kid a Caiman?? Ark obviously don't have the financial support to make the place look all pretty and manicured like Chester zoo, it is a rescue centre first and foremost. So having read in some reviews that it is wild and unkempt, these are rescue animals that haven't had the best start in life so have the option of being able to feel both more at home and be able to hide amongst the undergrowth if feeling stressed by the public gaze or shouty kids. Maybe instead of slating Ark they should have read at least some of the information on the plaques that explains all of this and much much more in greater detail. Give them some love and support by visiting. Make sure to book one of the experiences with them as this does help them help the animals.
    5 stars from us 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The foxes were lovely and the zoo keeper was amazing. She had very good knowledge of all animals and explained it in a fun way that all could understand. It was amazing to see the foxes and be with them. Feeding them it was fabulous. We also did the meerkat encounter too and that was just as amazing, again the zoo keeper was really engaging and the meerkat were lovely they sat on our laps again amazing. The whole park was lovely with a real mix of animals and dinosaurs! We all had such a great Time!! Also the food especially the cakes were amazing really good quality. Nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff. We weren't made to feel rushed in any way! This is a lovely place and all of us (ages ranging from 2-60) including teenages, will be returning and booking more encounters it was so good! So lucky to have this! Absolutely fantastic day out!!! We will be back!
