Materuni waterfalls this very impressive Waterfall is one of the tallest in the area, spewing crystal clear glacier water 70m into its basin. The beautiful path leading to Materuni Waterfall is located 2500m above sea level. Materuni is one of the few villages of wonder in Northern Tanzania sitting at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. The village is blessed with full of all the beauty worth much visiting for holiday, weekend outing or vacation. While in the village, scenic view of Moshi Town and Mount Kilimanjaro is astonishing. This green village with fresh air from green vegetations welcomes visitors to explore the beauty of the land and cultural heritage of the Chagga people. A cultural experience such as banana beer brewed or coffee roasted the traditional way can be added to your hike.

We were able to see lions, zebras, giraffes, impalas, buffalos, elephants and many more. The organization was impeccable. The driver was really nice and gave us interesting info during the visit. Everyone was easy to work with and they do things properly in the right way. They moved at our pace and also helped when I got sick due to the altitude, and ensured we still hit the summit. We had a great guide, who could answer our questions thouroughly and knew a lot about all the animals we saw. - 167fg0 contributionsShungu, the best tour operator for east AfricaI already made the mount Kilimandscharo with Shungus team and that was already a great experience. But this time it was unbelievable, we made Kenia, Tansania und Uganda. Shungu took care about everything. He even welcomed us at the boarder of Tansania. The hole trip was amazing and we didn’t had the feeling that we missed anything. Everything what we expected, was included. And our highlight was definitely the great migration 🤩 We can definitely recommend Shungu, not only for the Kilimandscharo 😊 Thanks Shungu for the amazing experience and hopefully see you soon.Written 6 November 2023

The entire crew was amazing, the chef cooked the most delicious food each day and all the porters were super friendly. It was a lifetime experience, John our guide was excellent with very sharp eyes on spotting the animals, we saw almost everything, the Lodges and tented camps was amazing, we had a very delicious dinner. We found Kilimanjaro Safari Experience thought personal contats and we are really happy of our choice. We all got the top and we all really enjoy this wonderful experience! The team was exaordinary, 4 very good guides, 2 chefs and a lot of portors, everyone was very competent, supportive and we really make fun and enojed together! - jayveet20230 contributionsWonderful experience from the footsteps of The Giant Mount Kilimanjaro.Wow!, these falls are really stunning because it is a great hike and a great place to connect with nature. This place surprised me very much the views are perfect and swimming under the falls is a really nice activity. The water is really cold but if you're up to it it's great! This is usually part of a day trip where after the hike you get to try local stuff like homemade coffee from nearby coffee plantations and banana beer. I would highly recommend making it a day trip to the falls.Written 23 February 2023

We did a couple of day trips to Enduimet Wildlife Area, Hot Springs, Old Moshi and the Coffee and Cultural Tour. Each of them was a great experience off the beaten track!
Shungu and Kirsten are professional, experienced tour operators for all kinds of activities, e.g. climbing Kilimanjaro, Safaris, Day Trips in the region and all over Tanzania. If you want to get the real tanzanian experience, they will take you to amazing places. Do not miss Street Food Moshi or local Craftsman Tour! Also highly recommended: Lake Jipe, Pare Mountains, helicopter tour Kilimanjaro.
