Meet a guide at a centrally-located guest house in Bagan for 3:30pm departure, then ride a horse-drawn cart to a local tea shop for a cup of Burmese-style tea. If desired, you can shop for beer and snacks to bring on the river cruise, and your guide can help you interpret the menu of Burmese foods.
Continue to Ayar Jetty, where you’ll board a boat for a 90-minute sunset cruise along the Ayeyarwady River, which flows across the country from north to south. Keep your camera out, as it’s possible to spot wildlife along the edge of the river, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the sunset hour. If you’ve brought picnic supplies from the tea shop, you can eat a relaxed dinner out on the water.
Return to shore and disembark at Ayar Jetty; your guide will be available following the tour to arrange transport back to your hotel.
