- Y2526RNmollyd0 contributionsThe best trip! What a fantastic 2 weeks we have just had! Blue Lanka, from start to finish, are utterly professional, attentive and excellent communicators. Our tour guide, Thushara, was absolutely fantastic. He really made the trip special. Not only did he treat us with the upmost respect and accommodated every request we had, but his kindness and love for his country created a positive atmosphere every day. Sri Lanka is a wonderful place with so much to see and learn. We wouldn't have been able to do this without Blue Lanka and Thushara. We wholeheartedly recommend them to any one who is interested in visiting this very special country.Written 16 January 2025
- 317yildizs0 contributionsAmazing travel experience in stunning Sri Lanka with Blue Lanka tours13 days touring in Sri Lanka with Blue Lanka tours was one of the most wonderful experiences of travel our family has had. From the beginning we were greeted with warm Sri Lankan hospitality with flowers and care at the airport. Manas our guide was very friendly, informative, professional and took care of all our needs. He clicked well with my 16 year old son and gave him an amazing experience of touring Sri Lanka. As you can imagine not all 16 year olds want to be travelling around with their parents without friends 😂. Our driver Wasantha was ready with a native flower for each of us every morning. He was exceptionally caring and excellent driver who made us feel completely safe on the roads. He was very warm and attentive. Blue Lanka tours chose the best hotels for us that made our trip very comfortable and memorable. The Sri Lankan people, nature, landscape, variety of wildlife habitat and especially the different bird life exceeded our expectations. We saw lots of elephants in the National Parks along with other beautiful wildlife. We even saw heaps elephants in the wild out of the National Park. Rashin from Blue Lanka checked on us every few days to make sure we were taken care of and addressed our needs. I highly recommend Blue Lanka tours for an amazing experience travelling in Sri Lanka. Thank you Manas and Wasantha for the amazing service you provided during our time together in Sri Lanka!Written 14 January 2025

- Whatafeelingpk0 contributionsA TRULY EXCEPTIONAL tour around Sri Lanka with “Prakash Keerthy” from Blue Lanka Tours.A TRULY EXCEPTIONAL tour around Sri Lanka with “Prakash Keerthy” from Blue Lanka Tours. Before I came to Sri Lanka, I had no idea what Sri Lanka was like or what to expect. But when I left, I found myself in love with this country and will always come back again in the future. Special thanks to our wonderful tour guide, “Prakash Keerthy” and Blue Lanka Tours for making this trip so comfortable, so memorable and so fantastic in every way! Our family consists of 4 persons : my dad, my mom, my sister and myself. Non of us visited Sri Lanka before. We need a company that is reliable, responsive and efficient. We are very happy we choose Blue Lanka Tours. A few days before our flight, I sent an enquiry to one of the staff, Himaya Suraweera, regarding the traveling card and she sent us a reply within a few hours. Upon our flight departure from Thailand, I sent WhatsApp to “Prakash Keerthy,” notifying him that our family would soon be arriving and meeting him in Columbo as planned. Prakash reassured us by texting back right away that he would be waiting to welcome us upon our arrival. At the airport, we were greeted with flowers that brought big smiles to our faces. We felt completely welcomed and relaxed. Prakash diligently checked with us how we were doing and what would be the best way to tailor our programs to best meet our needs. It was truly a magical holiday from the start: Negombo – Dambulla Rock Cave Temple - Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa – Kandy – Nuwara Eliya – Ramboda Waterfall – Tea Factory and Plantation – Little England – Nuwara Eliya – Yala – Yala National Park – Galle and Colombo. All the hotels were truly beautiful with great breakfasts. I was particularly impressed with “Aliya Resort & Spa” in Sigiriya for their stunning view of the swimming pools and behind it, the Lion Rock. The rooms were spacious with balcony facing beautiful Sri Lankan huge garden. Their breakfast were variety and dinner were super delicious. Prakash was very professional, knowledgeable, dedicated and most importantly, sincere and trustable! He helped us took care of everything, from money exchanging dilemma that we had with the Sri Lanka bank (because our US Dollar bank notes had markings) to caring for my 82 years old dad. He is also very good at photo taking. He always ensures that our experiences were smooth and pleasant at all times. The ticket purchasing and touring experience with local guides were well planned and executed. Our seats for the Sri Lanka dance show were reserved right in front of the stage, which was very VVIP. When my mom accidently forgot her passport, cash and credit cards at the hotel in Kandy, Prakash reassured her that everything would be all right and he would do his best to have them delivered to her as soon as possible. Prakash kept his promise. Everything was returned to my mom in a perfect condition. Furthermore, we were kept entertained throughout the trip, which made everyone happy and enjoyable. Prakash always checked with us how his driving was and ensure that our safety came as his number one priority. He explained everything to us clearly in English and kept surprising us with local snacks and fun stories. Prakash is very exceptional and I can only rate him as a “top” level professional tour guide with excellent service mind. Will recommend anyone to join Blue Lanka Tours with Prakash. I miss Sri Lanka already. Thank you once again for this fantastic trip and I hope to return again soon.Written 13 January 2025
- lukyanchenkok0 contributionsPrivate family tour with guide PradipToday we finished our private tour with tour guide Pradip. First what I want to mention - this company has comfortable small bus which can be perfect at least for 6 people. We were 3 - and we had lot of free space. Driver was doing stop at any request. Tour organisatgion is very well done - you are never waiting for buying tickets, when you arrive - everything is ready. Program is very rich and intense - you will not have time to be bored. We have seen in 1 week all the most important beauties of this country. Our tour giude Pradip knew a lot of information. was givivng us a lot of answers at any questions. He was always showing us local specialities. hidden places and even was buyimg fruits and sweets - things which were not included in our frice. At the end of the trip we became really friends. Holel selection was also perfect - we ate tasty breakfasts, were sleaping in beautiful hotels. I really reccomend this place. Blue lanka are the best! We will really come back!Written 13 January 2025
- Holidayhars0 contributionsMagical Sri Lankan holidayAyubowan 🙏 My husband and I recently spent 11 days privately touring Sri Lanka through Blue Lanka tours. We flew from Sydney, Australia via Singapore, however there are direct flights. I worked directly with the Blue Lanka’s Senior Sales Manager, Reshani Habaragamuwa and the team, who diligently answered all my questions and helped plan out our holiday. Reshani was fantastic to help map out our days and activities to meet our needs. During our tour Reshani also regularly checked in, which was a lovely touch. The professionalism, responsiveness and care of Blue Lanka is evident from the moment you connect with them. They also added special touches like a surprise high tea at the W15 Lake Gregory property at Nuwara Eliya. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday. From the temples, lush jungles, the tea plantations, hill districts to the beaches, Sri Lanka has it all. We had a private tour guide, Mr Hemantha Galpihilla, with 20+ years' experience, and a wonderful driver Aruna who safely navigated us around the island in a very comfortable Honda hybrid. Hemantha’s wealth of experience meant he has a strong network across Sri Lanka allowing him to tap into his connections to ensure over and above service and experience. He is an exceptional tour guide, and I would recommend him to others. Professional, personable, across the detail, with great English skills. As curious tourists we had many questions, and he was more than happy to spend the time with us to ensure we were well informed about Sri Lanka’s rich culture and landscape. We were happy with our decision to do a private tour – the extra attention to detail and the ability to be dropped at the activity by the ‘front door’ made it very convenient, allowing the time to be focused on the many different activities we did. Personally, we would never drive ourselves in Sri Lanka – let's just say - ‘leave it to the locals’. Aruna was a safe driver who didn’t take risks and always put our comfort first. Our tour activities included hikes, temple tours, tea plantation tour, safaris and a relaxing beach stay to finish our holiday. We also celebrated New Year and a birthday – with birthday decorations added by Hemantha and Aruna inside the car as an extra special surprise! We ate and drank like a king and queen - tropical fruits, traditional Sri Lankan food and the freshest of seafood, with no issues with sickness. Local beer and the best margaritas, with the freshest limes, were just what we needed after a full day of activities. The Sri Lankan people love Aussies and LOVE cricket. The smiles of the Sri Lankan people were beautiful, and they welcomed us warmly. The hotels as part of the tour package were amazing and the weather at this time of year was quite mild. If you haven’t already put Sri Lanka on your visit list, you must. In 2024 it was second fastest growing international travel destinations by Australians behind Japan. Thank you, Blue Lanka tours, Hemantha and Aruna and all our Sri Lankan friends, we will return!🌴🙏🧉 Thought starters to help plan your holiday: > Money: we paid for additional expenses via credit card at the hotels or restaurants and we also carried Sri Lanka Rupee. There are ATMS if needed – your tour guide can help locate them. As soon as we landed in Sri Lanka there are many currency exchange services. We exchanged money at the Sri Lankan airport for the duration of our holiday. The hotels were great at breaking the larger notes down to smaller notes for tipping and smaller incidentals. You don’t have to carry or use USD. > Sri Lanka does have a tipping culture, and it feels expected. Australians should quickly adapt to the custom of tipping. Understand the exchange rate so you feel comfortable. We always carried tipping money and tipped consistently throughout the holiday – it won’t break the bank. > 14 days touring is ideal – getting around Sri Lanka takes time. If you have less time, then there are tradeoffs you will have to make. > If you are an avid animal lover and are keen to do safaris, the best timing are the early morning slots, which may mean more days added to your tour. > The hotels are exceptional. Depending on your budget there are different accommodation options. If you are keen to make use of the hotel facilities, you may have to add more days to your holiday as your tour activities tend to have you leaving early and checking in late in the afternoon. > The three-hour train trip to Ella. If you are short of time, you could skip this. For avid train riders you want to try and get the 12:30pm train to Ella (there are no earlier trains). We had the 2:30pm and then the train was over an hour late. This meant the trip to Ella was all fogged over so you couldn’t see any scenery. If you do take this train, ask for tickets to be booked in carriage A seats 22, 23 so if there is a view you get to see it. > Food: all breakfasts were fantastic. It always started with a tropical fruit plate. We enjoyed the opportunities where we could order à la carte. We are not buffet people, with the only benefit of a buffet having the opportunity to sample the various Sri Lankan cuisine to then order à la carte when we could. > For toilet breaks on your tour – carry tissues with you. Toilet paper can be in short supply.Written 12 January 2025
- drTX20 contributionsThe red carpet experience! A pleasure to deal with Blue Lanka. Would do it all again.Look no further- you’ve found the right place for all things Sri Lanka. We just completed a two week trip with our adult children and Blue Lanka handled all our details and executed with perfection. I first reached out to the owner Mr. Dinesh, who connected us to Reshani and her fabulous team. She communicated regularly and even called me on WhatsApp to find out what we expected so that she could curate the right itinerary for us. We visited Negombo, Kandalama, Kandy, Ella, Nuwara Eliya, Yala and Bentota. Blue Lanka provides prompt communication and delivers what they promised- and more! I liked that our guide Dhanushka shared so much knowledge about the culture, geography, wildlife and history of the country, and that our driver Saman kept us safe and on time. Traffic can sometimes be challenging and we were grateful for our journey with these two individuals. There were no hidden fees and no asking for tips along the way or taking us to tourist traps. In fact, Reshani surprised us with cakes for family birthdays, a high tea at Gregory Lake and a special tea tasting in Golle when we expressed disappointment at our tour at Pedro in Nuwara Eliya. Our train to Ella was delayed and Dhanushka went and purchased snacks for us and waited until we departed the station. One day he brought some local fruits for us to try out. When we checked into hotels, we learned about Blue Lanka’s reputation, and many were familiar with the CEO. This company is ethical and will go above and beyond to make sure you’re smiling every single day there. Worth every penny!Written 12 January 2025
- 671kirtanar0 contributionsBlue Lanka gave us a taste of Sri Lanka. Now we want to come back!TL;DR: my family and I had the best time on our trip to Sri Lanka, and that is due in large part to the incredible team at Blue Lanka. We decided to spend a holiday in Sri Lanka very late (around mid-November 2024) and had no previous knowledge about what traveling in the country would entail. As the trip got closer, our anxiety about how to plan such a trip (including the need to have transport between cities) only grew. It was then that I stumbled upon this page and all of the rave reviews of Blue Lanka. After the trip, I can absolutely say that the other reviews are not exaggerations - everyone at Blue Lanka is helpful, responsive, and willing to the extra mile. I worked with Reshani to build out the original skeleton of the tour and get estimates. She is wonderful to work with! I live in the U.S. and with the time difference, communicating over the phone would be difficult, so we conversed mainly over email. Those emails were prompt and thorough, and she was very friendly and helpful. Once the deposit was submitted, we worked with Himaya to finalize hotels and the itinerary. She was likewise amazing. I appreciated her willingness to make changes quickly to accommodate the needs and interests of my family. When we were arrived in Sri Lanka, we were greeted by our awesome tour guide Dilan Silva and driver Nuwan. They were with us for the remainder of the trip, shepherding us safely from city to city, site to site, and making sure that we were having the best possible experience. We visited Anaradhapura, Sigiryia, the Dambulla cave temples, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and finally Colombo. There was quite a bit of rain during the first couple days of our trip, but we were mostly able to stick to our itinerary. That required smart and safe driving by Nuwan and a positive attitude by Dilan (even though he was also getting wet in the rain). Even more, because my parents are older and we needed to climb lots of steps (at Sigiriya and Dambulla) in the rain, I appreciated the amount of care Dilan showed to ensure that my parents were not overexerting themselves, would not slip, and were still having a great time. We learned a ton and had the experience of a lifetime. Thank you, Blue Lanka family!Written 12 January 2025
- Frankie F0 contributionsSolo in Sri LankaAs a single traveler and my first time doing an offcial tour I was skeptical but just did not want to deal with planning my entire trip solo after a hectic Christmas holiday. I decided to use Blue Lanka after extensive online research for the best tour companies. They were very accommodating up front to change places to visit, hotels etc to match my budget. I arrived exhausted after flying from the states and was greeted with flowers by Chanukah and then had a great tour for 12 days. Loved all hotels except one and that was more about the location and the food otherwise got to stay in some great little places with great views. It was so nice to have a personal driver. Chanukah was very helpful, very knowledgeable about the local areas and flexible to changes. He even went above and beyond to make me a nail appointment. 😀 I think if I would change anything it would be to spend more time around Ella, Yala and beaches with better scuba diving opportunities. It ended with Chanukah giving me a treasured parting gift to remember our trip, so thoughtful. 💝Written 11 January 2025
- Sanjita1230 contributionsAmazing 10 days in Sri LankaI just came back from an amazing tour around beautiful Sri Lanka. I am so thankful to Blue Lanka for giving us such an amazing experience. My interaction started with Blue Lanka and get to know Navodani as she was my point of contact. The moment I got in touch with her, from then till my tour completion, she was in connection 24/7. As we started the tour plan just about 20 days before, and in a very busy time of Christmas and New year around, it was very difficult to find the accommodation etc., where Navodani did a splendid job. All the accommodations were amazing, with the best view possible, neatness, and from every direction. Once the day came, we landed in Sri Lanka and with a great surprise, the Blue Lanka group was there to welcome us along with Navodani. And our next surprise was our tour guide Ishan, a gem of a person. If he would have not there, we may have not enjoyed our tour the way we did. We got many pleasant surprises from Navodani and Ishan, many things got added which was not at all there in our itinerary. They have surprised us by arranging birthday party for my kids, added cultural show at Kandy, Kirinda visit, arranged hi tea at an amazing place at Nuwara Eliya, so many things. He has explained us all the history attached to the places and we enjoyed thoroughly his company. Finally, Ishan has also kept our request when we wanted to enjoy the new year eve at 12 am, and he was there with us. We are just overwhelmed with the hospitality of Blue Lanka, specifically Navodani, Ishan and overall Sri Lanka, an amazingly beautiful country. Hats off to Blue Lanka for introducing us with Navodani and Ishan who made our trip memorable for ever. Thank you Ishan, thank you NavodaniWritten 10 January 2025

- AXEL4trek0 contributions2 weeks custom tour around Sri LankaI traveled as a tour leader with a small group, and Blue Lanka Tour was the local partner of my Italian agency. The tour lasted two weeks, and we traveled around most of the island, visiting both historical/cultural and natural sites, including some excursions. The service was excellent, with remarkable availability, attention, and professionalism. I hope to return in the future with new groups, visiting old places and discovering new ones.Written 6 January 2025
- itchyfeetPerth0 contributionsGreat company and tourWe’re at the tail end of a 4 night tour around Sri Lanka - organised with Blue Lanka. I am very satisfied with our experience. Firstly, the booking/admin side of the trip was fantastic. Reshani and the team at Blue Lanka are far and away the best travel booking team I have ever used. I originally enquired with them and found the price too expensive - they were gracious when I declined their offer. We then reassessed, cut some days/stuff out and reenquired - and decided to go with them. They were prompt, clear, courteous and accommodating (but yes, not the cheapest). Once on the tour Reshani checked in twice with us to ensure we were okay - and I believe she also checked in with our guide - I believe she truly cares about her clients and her team, which is important to me. Our tour guide Mr Ishani and our driver (we were introduced on the first day but in true Aussie style we’ve shortened his name to Nim and I can’t remember his whole name!) are also great - professional and flexible. Mr Ishani is good at ‘reading the room’ and understanding our travel style and he’s a dab hand at the photos. In addition, as others have said driving in Sri Lanka can seem a bit chaotic but I have never felt unsafe in Nim’s hands (though we have a six hour drive back to Colombo tomorrow so that’ll be a bit long!)Written 6 January 2025

We went on a wonderful 17-day tour with Blue Lanka Tour. Six of us travelled across Sri Lanka in an air-conditioned minibus.
Our guide Dilshan and driver Gayan showed us the whole island. We especially loved the animal world, from turtles, iguanas, exotic birds and the funny monkeys.
The highlight was the Wilpattu Safari.
There we saw the leopard mother with her cub, elephants drinking, funny wild boars with bristle cuts and many species of birds.
We even saw a crocodile eating. In the evening we stayed in a tree hotel, and in the red dusk the fruit bats showed us their flying show.
All the cultural highlights were very impressive, the Buddha statues in Dambulla and the Sigiriya rock were simply great.
Many thanks to our guide Dishan who organised everything so well for us and who always drove on time with the driver Gayan and was very considerate on the busy roads.
We would do it again anytime

From the moment we met Prakash in our hotel reception - energetic and smiling - we felt comfortable, knew we’d made the right choice with our tour and were excited for the day ahead.
The tour was of Wilpattu national park, but Prakash started his tour through Colombo and the country ride, informing us of facts and anecdotes, keeping us very entertained. We stopped at a local cafe for morning tea and Prakash ordered local delights for us to try. He also called ahead to our lunch stop to make sure the curries catered for our favorites or things we wanted to try. And the lunch did not disappoint.
Then we stopped to transfer into our private Jeep with very comfy seats. Prakash was determined for us to spot a leopard and even after seeing elephant, crocodile, and plenty of other animals, he was still positive we’d get to see a leopard. And we did! We stayed much longer than intended, but because of that we saw TWO leopards very close up. What a result.
Overall I couldn’t rate Blue Lanka and Prakash enough. My only regret is that I didn’t get onto Blue Lanka sooner to plan my full intinerary. When we return, or any of our family / friends embark on Sri Lanka (we felt very safe btw, so would recommend) we will point them in the direction of Blue Lanka.

Hi Hannah,
Greetings from Sri Lanka!
Undoubtedly you both have had a great time and your review is proof for that. Thank you for planning your tour with us. I wish you had more time to ride around the island. I am honestly happy that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay.
It is no secret that the Tourism industry in Sri Lanka hit the rock bottom since the Easter attack in April. And tourists lost their assurance in travelling for obvious reasons. But I am in owe of you for having faith in us, for your safety. Prakash is a such a bubbly personality who would never let his guests down. With his cheerful but respectful nature he spares his immense knowledge on the multitudes of subjects. I am truly happy that you were lucky enough to get Prskash as your guide.
Sri Lanka has so much of natural beauty to savor in. The humble smiles always await to welcome you to this beautiful island. Please do visit us again with your friends and family.
Wish you all the best for your future!
With Big Respect + More Love,
Dinesh N. Perera

It was our first trip to Sri Lanka and we we're lucky enough to get Prakash as our tour guide and have an amazing day trip to Willpattu National Park. If we're lucky enough to get back to Sri Lanka any time soon we'll be looking to book in a longer trip with Prakash specifically and Blue Lanka to explore more. They can pretty much arrange and cater to any experience or trip that suits your schedule and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better guide and day. From the moment Prakash picked us up from our hotel it was honestly like travelling with your best friend on an awesome road trip. I've told my parent and friends all about it and to put this at the top of your list of travel destinations.
Specifically for our trip we went to Willpattu National Park as it's the biggest and slightly closet from Colombo. It's known for having the most Leopards whilst we also saw an elephant, a crocodile and a wide range of bird life and other wildlife such as buffalo, dear, lizards and more.
Along the way we stopped at a really authentic Sri Lankan cafe and had some local cafe snacks, tea and coffee whilst also checking out a temple. Then we had a very authentic Sri Lankan lunch before heading into the national park. The lunch was also really good. So much food and amazing curry.
Then the national park experience was a bit like driving into Jurassic Park however seeing a wide range of the animal mentioned above. Prakash was determined for us to see Leopards. It'd been raining however and Leopards we learnt don't like getting wet so weren't coming out. Prakash wouldn't give up though and we stay far longer than the normal tour time until we did indeed see some Leopards which was really exciting. As was seeing all the animals in their natural habitat like the crocodile eating a deer.
Anyway couldn't recommend it more highly mostly because of our amazing tour guide. Honestly do yourself a favour and if you're heading to Sri Lanka just give Blue Lanka a call/email (very responsive) an indication of length of time, what you'd roughly like to do and if Prakash is available to take you then I guarantee it will be a great trip.
I don't normally write reviews but I was lucky enough to get onto this via the reviews of others so only far that I return that favour.

Hi Steve,
I am simply awed by your review. Thank you from all of us at Blue Lanka Tours. And I truly appreciate you both for choosing us to be your tour consultant. It was absolutely our pleasure to have you with us and I am truly glad that you both immensely enjoyed the tour.
Prakash is indeed the best companion you could have asked for. And You have been lucky to have got him in time for your journey. Despite the weather conditions in Sri Lanka currently as it is the South West Monsoon season, I am happy that you still managed to witness a great deal of the wild life, especially the rare opportunities such as witnessing leopards, that up close to your presence.
We are eagerly waiting for your friends in November and family to visit us in December. As always, we make sure that our guests are experiencing the best during their stay whether it is just one day or even a month. Thank you once again for all your love and trust on us.
With Big Respect + More Love,

We had a great time at Willpattu. Staffs are friendly and helpful to find the hidden animals. Next time hope to see the leopard!
