I had an amazing experience with Gravel Travel on the Landmannalaugar Super Jeep tour, led by our guide Jon. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging, which added so much to the adventure. Jon didn’t just stick to the main plan; he took us to unique spots off the usual route, allowing us to experience even more of Iceland’s breathtaking landscapes. Each stop was well-paced—plenty of time to take photos, explore, and really appreciate the surroundings while Jon shared fascinating stories and insights. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Landmannalaugar with an expert guide!

We did the South Coast and Katla Ice Cave tour with Christian from Reykjavik and it was great. Christian told great historical stories and gave loads of info on the way, he was funny and engaging. The Katla part of the tour was fantastic. A great day out.

Enjoyed the hike and the 4x4 ride, although it was raining. Our guide was helpful. We got stuck in the ice but our guide was able to resolve it. Would definitely recommend this tour if you enjoy hiking and venturing in the landscape.

The tour was great, our guide Daniel was so fun, made the experience even better, he had the best disposition for the trip, took so much photos of everyone who wanted, put very nice music for the ride. Also we were very lucky and were able to see lot of northern lights. Definitely would recommend.

This trip was AMAZING! We had no idea what to expect and we had the best day! Daniel was our tour guide and he is a natural at his job. He provided great historical information along the way and drove his monster 4x4 like a pro. His playlist was epic and he was funny as well as patient, making sure everyone was safe throughout the adventure. I would definitely recommend this excursion to anyone who appreciates the power and force that nature can exude.

We had a fantastic time with Daniel, the man is bonkers but it made for a great trip! We appreciated that the tour was not just a drive to the ice cave and back, Daniel took the time to go through the history of Katla and the surrounding area. Loved trying our new favourite sport, ice yeeting

We had a bit of trouble finding the pick up location (behind Icewear bulding in Vik) and vehicle didn't arrive until a few.moments before tour...so be patient. Daniel was a fantastic guide. He plated "Viking pillage" music for our drive to the volcano and stopped at great photo spots along the way. Hike to the cave was short. Danile provided tons of information aboit how the glacier was formed and what will happen when Katla next errupts. We had plenty of time to explore the cave and take amazing.pictures. We did not see the arctic fox, but Daniel had a special treat for us at the end of the tour (I'll keep it a secret to not ruin for others). High point of our trip. No way to explain what it feels like to be on top of Katla.

Highly recommended, guide was fantastic, tour was breath taking, once in a lifetime experience. Off road travel was fun, getting to see a glacier up close and going into a once cave then ending on a black sand beach. Guide was very thoughtful in taking every safety precaution felt completely safe in this adventure.

I've done all sorts of tours all over the world and this was by far my favorite tour so far! They picked us up promptly at the meeting point at the time listed on our tour tickets and drove us out to Katla in a big off-road vehicle. The guide provided interesting information and fun conversation along the way, and some good music too! Him and his assistant carried in jackhammers and climbing equipment and actually chiseled steps into the face of the glacier so we could safely climb up to two different ice caves - an old one that was nearing the end of its life cycle that we could not enter because it was melting and in danger of collapse, and a brand new one that nobody else has ever been inside yet! They explained to us that the ice caves are always changing due to weather conditions so no two groups of photos will be the same. Very interesting! We also saw an arctic fox that likes to come visit the tour groups when they arrive hoping for a treat. On the drive back we had more great conversation and interesting information, and a surprise very cool addition at the end of the tour that I won't spoil for you - trust me, just book the tour with these guys and you'll be very satisfied with the whole experience. All around great dudes!

The best tour I had the good fortune to attend, a super jeep tour to the Highlands and Landmannalaugar. Jón was a very knowledgeable and professional guide,an all around great guy and a confident driver, which is extremely important on the gravel roads of Iceland. Plenty of sights to see. I can not recommend this company enough. I will actively look for them to book my next adventures in Iceland.

Great show - but what we liked most were our guides (Daniels) stories about himself and his country. Finally we were touched and reflective about visiting a melting and soon collapsing ice cave representing transience of life.

We joined this trip on August 21,2024, there were 14 people in total. The weather was miserable with very strong winds and heavy rains, yet the operator still decided to go ahead with the trip. When we got there, the stairs were all gone and the guide had to rebuild them. But the power cord connection was bad, and they spent at least 20 min trying to fix it without success. We were kept waiting in the wind and rain, all get wet and cold. At last the guide decide to use hand tool to make ice stairs and we only climb to the cave took a few quickly pictures. Quite dusting the cave and the tour mainly due to the bad weather. They should just call off the trip that day.

We were picked up near our apartment by Adonis (our tour guide) in an off-road truck. He was very kind and told us ALOT about Iceland and its history and answered all of our questions. We were a family of 4 and there were also 2 other people with us in the truck. Everyone came along well and we had a great time. Adonis also had a nice playlist for us with Icelandic songs. On our tour we visited 2 Waterfalls, the Katla-Icecave and also the black beach. He told us many facts about animals, glaciers, history and also Icelandic mythology. In general we really enjoyed this trip and were very happy about having Adonis as our tour guide. We would recommend a tour with GravelTravel and in particular with Adonis.

Fantastic tour with Daniel from Gravel Travel! He was very informative, super funny and a great tour guide. The ice cave tour is totally worth and it's fun riding in their Super Jeep. I highly recommend it!
