- H2749MOalexe0 contributionsClimbing in Malaysia with the one and only EddieGreat experience with Eddie. Was in town for business and had some spare time before my flight left. Luckily I found Eddie and he bought my wife and I on a great day of hiking, climbing, via Ferretta, and repelling. Was the perfect amount of challenge and fun. Would highly recommend. We personally paired this morning and close by is Batu caves after lunch.Written 6 October 2024
- Beatricetrice0 contributionsGreat adrenaline rush in KL!This is an amaizing experience! Hiking and climbing in deep rain forest has no price. We didn’t really know what to expect when we booked it, but it ecxeeded our expectations in terms of how incredibile and rewarding it was. We had no prior experience in climbing, so take this from an amateur point of view: the path is definitely rough since you’ll have to hike into steep forest, then climb a wall (I’d say this was the easiest and safest part) and then climb rocks that get sharper as you fo up. You’ll get to admire an incredibile landscape and then you’ll take the same path to get down and finally abseil to the ground. This means you have to be fit to do this. Our journey was a little bit more challenging since it had rained the day before and rocks tends to get slippery when it happens. We were litterally escorted by two professional climbers who made clear safety was the number one priority. And such good company too. We 100% recommend this experience if you’re looking for a bit of adrenaline rush during you’re KL stay.Written 23 August 2024
- ninjachiip0 contributionsAmazing first time hiking in MalaysiaAmazing hike with pristine trails and great views. If you are looking for an adventure in Malaysia, you shouldn't miss this one out! This was worth every penny, with the amount of guidance by the expert instructors, who were friendly and took safety seriously at every step of the way. Also, the rock climbing experience at the mid-way point of the hike was one of the main highlights of this hike. In terms of difficulty of the hike, you'll probably need some sort of decent fitness, with some rock climbing experience prior in order to do it comfortably though. Really glad to have found this tour, and I'll highly recommend this to others considering too!Written 29 July 2024

- kelliec4790 contributionsIncredible weekend climbing in Kuala Lumpur!I had an amazing time climbing with MIR! I booked the half day climbing at Batu Caves, then saw that there also was multi-pitch climbing and asked if I could do a second day of that. Eddie was easy to communicate with, flexible, and accommodating to book me for both days on short notice. Both days my guides were safe, helpful, and such fun to climb with! It was my first multi-pitch climb and KY was a great coach. There were multiple levels available and MIR provided all the necessary gear. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get outside or have an adventure while in Kuala Lumpur!Written 26 February 2023

- Drrmballa0 contributionsPleasant experienceIt was an excellent experience with these guys.they were right on time.introduced themselves and gave a brief intro on what to expect n what to do.and despite my mistake of not informing them earlier about our additional participant, they took the trouble to send the extra equipment from Eddie instead of being fussy about it.we started our journey with one of the 2 instructor who was carefully bringing us while accommodating our slow pace.both the instructors were very patient and friendly and accommodating as well. They briefed us really well and did a full inspection,no rushing was involved, gave us our time and was motivating us all the way.even during our abseiling, they advised us thoroughly what to expect and what to do n what not to do.it made the entire experience easy for us.the abseiling itself was not entirely easy but their tips were really helpful to make it easier for us.it was a great experience throughout with their entire team.not forgetting the prompt n thorough replies from their handler,Mr Eddie as well. I would recommend anyone out there who wants to try this to go through this team.u would enjoy the experience with themWritten 23 January 2023

- Alex-jwebster0 contributionsHalf day rock climbingDid the half day rock climbing with Mir adventures and me and my partner had the best day so far in kuala lumpur. Incredible for exercise and getting to meet people. Staff are extremely helpful and patient to everyone including people that are experiencing rock climbing for the first time. Location is great and even got dropped off the the front of batu caves. I booked at 10pm the day before and Eddie still helped me book my climb for the next morning. This company is perfect to book rock climbing with and it is a must if you visit Kuala Lumpur in my opinion.Written 1 January 2023

This was a great first time experience beyond in-door climbing cliffs. My young daughter and I enjoyed the challenge. We had opportunity enough to climb different areas and levels of difficulty. It was safe. I appreciate their flexibility on getting us to the caves.
If you book the rock climbing and Batu Caves together make sure to communicate that with those who meet you. They don't know what you booked, they just know you booked the rock climbing.
You can also figure out if it's more feasible to get yourself to the caves (on the other side of the mountain).
We paid 80 more for hotel pick up and drop off. So, when they realized we had the caves booked, too, they accommodated us (took us to the caves). That was enough of a relief but they don't do anything more than that, which is fine. Batu caves you can arrange to go to on your own...maybe using the Grab app.

I went climbing with MIR Adventures after reading all the rave reviews online. And I have to say they lived up to it. I met Eddy and also Shinyi there and they are excellent guides that are caring and conscientious. They are passionate about what they do and took care of me and my friend well. I then proceeded to buy more packages from them. You can buy it on Shopee or WhatsApp him for more details at +60163320122 . Gua Damai is a cruisey 20-mins away from KL easily accessible by car. The routes are nice as well. I've been climbing for a few years and most important is safety and they are very knowledgeable.

Eddie and Teng were absolutely wonderful instructors. They had 15 years of climbing experience between them and it showed. They were very good in reassuring my wife and daughter particularly in the safety of the equipment, and gently guiding them to do something which they were really unsure about. My family were absolutely buzzing at the end of it, and said that they never imagined they would enjoy it as much as they did. The only fly in the ointment was a very noisy gardener with a petrol blower in the garden behind, which made it difficult at times to hear instructions. But that was hardly their fault!
All in all, would recommend this to anyone, novice climbers and those that have done some climbing before.
To top it all off, Eddie kindly dropped us off at the Batu caves temple after the climbing.
Thanks Eddie and Teng!

Eddie was absolutely amazing the whole way! He was super helpful when I was booking and answered all my questions above and beyond. The climbing itself was awesome (definitely worth the stars on The Crag) and very efficient with plenty of guys on the ground belaying and setting up new top ropes to suit everyone’s ability. Highly recommend this for brand new or seasoned climbers alike!

We had a group of mixed experience (me as a mostly indoor climber trying to transition to outdoors, and someone who had never climbed before) and our instructor Eddie tailored the course to us both perfectly. He was super friendly, safety conscious, and clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about climbing. Damai crag is also incredibly beautiful (and has the easiest approach I've ever seen, as a bonus), and I was able to get a lift to Batu Caves when we finished up. I really enjoyed the day, and I'd absolutely recommend MIR Adventures to anyone.

Eddie was a fantastic guide, took the time to remind me how to setup an anchor for top roping and made sure we were safe and having a great time. We took a taxi straight to the crag which is super easily accessible (has toilets nearby etc) there are amazing limestone walls there amongst cool trees and monkeys. Highly recommended for climbers of any ability.

The rock climbing was excellent. Very experienced and encouraging guides. They keep on motivating till the end. The rock climbing was challenging. The equipments like safety harness, helmet and shoes were provided. Not encouraged to use gloves as you cant have a good grip with gloves on. A big thumbs up to the team!!

Awesome experience! I went alone but Eddie accommodated me with another group. Shin Yee, Kevin and 3 of the other guides (did not manage to catch their names) were very helpful, patient and most importantly friendly. It was my first time climbing outdoors and they did their best to ensure I felt comfortable and safe. Highly recommended activity for the weekend.

Climbing at Batu caves was really fun and well organised by MIR adventures. Our guides KY and Teng helped us with equipment as well as explaining and guiding us along the four easy but also a bit challenging routes they set for us before (top rope). We couldn’t belay but that was not problem since KY and Teng belayed us and we always felt safe also when we had to rest or slipped unexpected.
They gave us tips and were always friendly, motivating and helpful. Last but not least they gave us a homemade Malayian snack and a drive to Batu Caves entrance.
Thank you a lot for the nice morning and this unforgettable experience!

Very supportive and patient instructor (Mr KY). I joined the half-day guided rock climbing event as a total beginner and it was a challenging but rewarding experience. It was a big step out of my comfort zone but I managed to climb 3 out of 4 routes despite no prior experience. I felt safe throughout my climbs and the instructor gave me his full attention as i climbed. Highly recommended to climbers of all levels.

If it rains, is the tour cancelled? Is it still good to go to Batu Caves in the rain?
Does the tour take you back to KL from Batu Caves, or do they just drop you off?
Written 24 December 2019
You can still visit Batu Caves even when it rains. However there will be no shelter from the rain if you were to climb the steps up to the caves. It's best to appreciate the place when it is not raining. And the tour will not take you back to KL. Just drops you off at Batu Caves
