Itinerary

Day 1: Going Deep Into The Wilderness - Getting To Our Campsite

Stop At: Algonquin Provincial Park, Haliburton, Ontario K0J 2M0 Canada
Meet you guide on Canoe Lake beach. Get to know your fellow group members (and new best friends from around the world) over lunch.

After instruction from your guide, paddle together into the Algonquin interior (about 15km/4 hours). There is a 300m portage and a large beaver dam to cross.

Upon arrival at our gorgeous wilderness campsite, we will set up camp and collect firewood. Participants can relax in hammocks or swim while your guide/chef prepare dinner. After dinner, we relax by the fire with S'mores and story telling.
Duration: 10 hours

Stop At: Canoe Lake Access Point, Highway 60 At Km 14.1, Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario Canada
This is where we meet, eat lunch and receive canoe training.
Duration: 1 hour

Pass By: Tom Thomson Memorial, Canoe Lake, Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario Canada
We pass by on our paddle across Canoe Lake.

Meals included:
• Lunch: A gourmet sandwich from the world famous Henrietta's Pine Bakery & fruit (usually strawberries, sometimes our apples)
• Dinner: Salad, honey-garlic beef (filet mignon & rib eye) over spaghetti w/veggies (usually local from our farm), sweet dessert
Accommodation included: Tent, air pad (over 120kg gets foam), sleeping bag (and a fresh liner), soft pillow case (make pillow w/your clothing)

Day 2: Exploring Algonquin Park's Backcountry - Looking For Wildlife

Stop At: Algonquin Provincial Park, Haliburton, Ontario K0J 2M0 Canada
Your paradise day begin with an epic breakfast. Swim, paddle, read in your hammock, hike, take photographs for National Geographic submission or just relax to the sound of loon calls. Your guide can show you the best places to fish, photograph or practice solo canoe strokes. Usually, the group decides to go on a morning 3-5km hike.

After lunch, there is usually some hammock time and lake swimming. We usually go paddle in search of moose and beaver around dusk.

Dinner is followed another campfire to roast our remaining marshmallows. Star gazing will be the best you have ever seen. And, your guide will howl for wolves. If we are lucky, they might respond.
Duration: 14 hours

Meals included:
• Breakfast: Fresh ground/percolated coffee/tea, orange slices, eggs, meat (bacon/deli), home fried potatoes, cheese
• Lunch: Varies - Hot dogs & beans w/naan bread or Tuna Macaroni & cheese or deli meat/veggie/cheese wraps. Fruit dessert.
• Dinner: Chicken teriyaki, veggies (usually from our local farm), Japanese rice/lentil/quinoa. Sweet dessert. Tea/hot chocolate
Accommodation included: Tent, air pad (over 120kg gets foam), sleeping bag (and a fresh liner), soft pillow case (make pillow w/your clothing)

Day 3: Returning Home Connected To Nature - Memories For A Lifetime

Stop At: Algonquin Provincial Park, Haliburton, Ontario K0J 2M0 Canada
Participants will pack up supplies while your guide prepares a memorable breakfast. Now that everyone is a confident canoe master, the paddle back (about 15km) to Canoe Lake beach will be easier. A short hike to a scenic lookout or cliff jumping/swimming will provide a nice view from up high. We return back to the beach by 2pm.

Free tour photos will provide memories for a lifetime.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:

1) No Smoking (bring dermal, chewable or vape options, if required)

2) Only small amounts of alcohol (128ml per person, total for the trip). No glass bottles or cans.

3) No flip-flops.

4) Only use cream or wipes style insect repellant (never bring aerosol or pump sprays). Remember, we have bug jackets.

5) Canoe safari boats seat 3 and each group of 9 people takes 3 boats. Depending on group configuration, families and couples may periodically need to paddle in different boats (but all travelling together).

6) Tents are private on this group adventure. Solo travellers will get a solo tent.

7) Bus transport to/from Huntsville is possible on Ontario Northland. An overnight stay in Huntsville is required. A $40 per person shuttle can be arranged to the park (let us know, in advance, if you need this). We can hold extra baggage if you come by bus. Other group members can usually give a free lift back to Huntsville. Or, another shuttle can be arranged.

8) Fishing - You can bring your own gear. Or, we rent gear for $50CAD, plus 13% tax, per person (let us know, in advance, if you need this). A fishing permit is also required if over 18. They can be bought at our meeting location for $26.40CAD/day.

9) We also rent the following items: 30l waterproof backpack ($20CAD, plus 13% tax), 15l camera/day drybag ($10CAD, plus 13% tax), travel towel ($5CAD, plus 13% tax) and flashlights (free). Let us know, in advance, if you require any of these items.

10) Packing - a 30l backpack or duffle, per person, should hold all your clothes. Families/couples can use larger bags. An extra small day bag for rain/sun protection, water and camera is also suggested. Place two large garbage bags, inside your pack, before you pack any clothing. This will protect the contents from extended rain or water in the canoe.

11) What to bring:
- Rain jacket (pants are definitely recommended). A dollar store poncho will not work. If it rains for hours/days, you will need good rain gear.
- 2 pairs of shoes. One for safe walking in water (water shoes, sport sandals, old runners). And another for hiking and campsite. No flip-flops.
- 2 sets of outer clothes. One on your back and one in the bag. Long sleeve & loose fitting synthetic clothes are best for drying quick and protecting from sun/insects/scratches. Black tights are the worst.
- Sun hat, glasses, cream and lip protection
- swim suit & towel
- flashlight
- book
- camera or binoculars
Duration: 6 hours

Meals included:
• Breakfast: Fresh ground & percolated coffee, orange slices, the best blueberry pancakes ever, pure local maple syrup
• Lunch: Multigrain bagel with peanut butter and jam, fruit dessert
No accommodation included on this day.
