Walking, talking and gawking with Monica.
Monica, lead us on a 2-hour energetic, informative and photogenic walk around the Point Lobos peninsula. We enjoyed the walk from start to finish and have signed up for one of her walking tours of downtown Carmel…..can’t wait

You won't regret this scenic walk!
This was a PERFECT outdoor excursion for our ladies' weekend in the Carmel/Monterey area. Great balance of walking through nature, learning facts about the area, and pausing for incredible photos with views of shoreline, sea lions, otters, and more. Monica was a delightful guide: knowledgable, friendly, and able to tailor the experience to the group. Having private parking included made it all that much easier. Highly recommend!

An immersive story we will never forget
The scenery on this hike was undeniable, but our guide, Monica, was the true gem, sharing information as a true storyteller, with poignancy and flourish. We would have followed her anywhere, and we now have a memory that is human, humane, as well as pictorial. We highly recommend this tour for everyone.

Avoid Crowds and Major Parking Concerns with this Lovely Private Guided Hike Full of of Beauty & Stories
Monica is the perfect guide to this park that is rich in nature, beauty and history! So fun to view through her scope the basking seals & a mother otter and her baby! Worth it, including a private spot to park. Do NOT wear shorts, even if it’s hot out. You’ll learn why. We will be doing it again!

Excellent Tour Guide and Goregous Views on an Easy Hike
Monica was an outstanding guide! She shared her wealth of knowledge with us about the beautiful Point Lobos area. She made the hike enjoyable in every way. She brought her binoculars so we could see coastal wildlife (including Harbour seals and sea lions) and shared so much about the rich history of this special land and seascape. I cannot recommend this highly enough!

    Point Lobos tour
Monica was a lovely tour guide and wonderful story teller. Her dog, Heidi, greeted all of us warmly before we left for the hike from their home across from the state park :) The hike was absolutely breath taking!! Fair warning it would be challenging for very young kids or seniors who are not able to walk off the beaten path or do stairs. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend it!

Great hike with a great guide!
Monica is a great storyteller. She is also very knowledgeable about the local flora and history of Point Lobos as her family his connected to its history. Make sure you wear good walking shoes, pants to avoid the poison oaks from touching the skin. Bring a light jacket. This is a light to moderate hike with the occasional steep incline. You won’t regret going with such a personable guide!

So happy we decided to do this fast-paced and fascinating tour - our brief visit to Carmel was so much more meaningful for it! Monica is highly personable and a great storyteller. My 15 year-old daughter and another teen on the tour were just as engaged by her stories as the adults. Wonderful!!

Monica Hudson, Tour guide and historian.
Captivating combination of history and storytelling, while walking through secret alleys and beautiful courtyards to key destinations. Monica has a talent for making history come alive, with her charisma and little aside stories. And by the way, she wrote the book on Carmel‘s history.
We’ll be following her to her other tour destinations.

Monica was very knowledgeable about architectural history and local figures that shaped this town.
She guided us through parts of town we would never have known about; alleys and including some interior visits into historical building.
Tour was relaxed and slow paced with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and take photos.
Fair amount of level walking, and be careful of uneven walkways(wear good walking shoes-NO high heels).
For the price-this is a MUST tour of Carmel.

What a great experience. Monica was amazing, as she gave us a history of Carmel, and walked us through special alleys and areas of shops and restaurants we would have never found on our own. She really made us love Carmel even more. Highly recommend.

We did this guided tour with Gael, during my son's spring break and It was the best thing out of our itinerary.
Gael allowed us to experience the charm and uniqueness of Carmel in a very special way. I never knew such a small place was so big in arts, culture, charm. She would go in thru buildings and or streets and surprised us with beautiful quant spots to seat at to have coffee, read a book or simply just relax.
Gael I cannot thank you enough for making this experience so unique, we are planning to go back with the rest of the family soon.

Whether you’ve been to Carmel many times, or if this is your first visit, you will find this tour to be equally informative and memorable.
We were a group of local Seniors and out of town guests who all totally loved our experience. The tour is a mix of historical fact, unique tidbits of information, and personal story telling. Monica is a very well-researched, experienced and engaging guide. She adjusts her pace to the ability of the group, allowing for questions, photos, places to sit and listen and conversational ease. Her tour was a delightful way to see Carmel and reach your steps at the same time!! Book early as this tour is quite popular.

Monica provided an exceptional in-depth tour of Carmel by-the-sea. She is an incredible storyteller who is very well versed in Carmel’s rich history. The two hours flew by and everyone in our group was beyond happy with the experience. Highly recommend!

Monica is an excellent guide and ambassador for Carmel. Her knowledge of the area makes your surroundings “come alive” for not only visitors, but people that have lived in Carmel for years and not had the time to research where they live. She takes a personal interest in the people in the group and helps suggest places you might like to go that are not on the tour. Visitor or resident will enjoy and learn a great deal in the two hours you spend with Monica.

The tour guide, Monica, was one of the most engaging and knowledgeable guide we’ve ever had. Many of the participants are frequent visitors to Carmel and they had never seen or heard the history she shared. Very enjoyable way to spend a few hours walking through the side streets and buildings.

This tour was everything we dreamed it would be, and then some! If you're lucky enough to visit this magical place, there's no better way to experience it. Monica is supremely delightful, and she literally wrote the book on this town. The pace was perfect, and we made the most of each step by seeing all of the best sights while also hearing the wonderful history presented by her endearing story-telling. I'd do this with Monica again and again as I have no doubt that she could entertain and educate us even more each time. Thank you, Monica, for making our trip so special!
