      The BEST!
We booked a private tour and Trish was beyond exceptional! This is THE way to tour LA, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and beyond! She is a wealth of historical information as well as all the latest events and happenings. She was so accommodating to our photo requests. We will always use her whenever we return and recommend her to any friends planning a visit. Thank you, Trish!

Fabulous Jim Morrison Day with Trish!
We were 4 friends traveling to the LA area for a little relaxation and sightseeing. We wanted an overview of some of the key sights and since we are big Doors fans wanted to see some Jim Morrison sights. Trish was an absolutely wonderful guide. We saw so many interesting Jim Morrison sights and places I would never have known about without her guidance. She was spot on in the places she suggested. We traveled the city in a very comfortable van and she is an excellent driver and navigator. Right from the start she was responsive and helpful. My one friend is vegan and she was very accommodating and helpful. When the one restaurant we selected on the tour did not work out due to the staff (no fault of Trish) she took us to a wonderful Mexican place that we all loved. She is so knowledgeable and pleasant. We absolutely loved our tour. I highly recommend this company! Thanks Trish, it was a real pleasure having you as a guide.

      Fun, interesting and delicious
The tour guide was well informed and constantly looking to include more and teach us about the tour and the business we visited. We got to go in the back where the magic happens for one of the places. The chocolate was good at all 5 sites. From the highest level chocolatier to a gas station with the best cookies in the city. We had a great time. You will need to pace yourself because you will be overwhelmed with sweetness. The good thing is that you can take your samples with you for later.

      Excellent Tour Guide!
My husband and I wanted to see LA and thought this would be a fun way to do it. Trish, our guide, was very knowledgeable and took us all around LA. We saw the popular sites but also some off the beaten path. The food choices at the restaurants were delicious! Everyone in our group enjoyed it, including a teenager and his older siblings. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see LA.

      We had a great time!
This was perfect for us. Just what we were looking for.Trish picked us up with our luggage in Annehiem from Disney, drove us around Los Angelas and dropped us off at the pier for our cruise. Trish was wonderful, her minivan was very clean and just the right size to get us in and around town. We visited the Hollywood sign, Chinese Theatre, an open air market for lunch, drove through Beverly Hills, and walked up a down Hollywood Blvd.

Private LA tour was THE BEST DAY EVER!
We had such a great time with Trish. She is so knowledgeable and so informative. It’s such a great way to see the sights and not have to do any of the driving yourself. We LOVED lunch at Musso & Frank Grill and we couldn’t wait to get to John Kelly Chocolates. It did not disappoint! We did the private tour so we were able to pick our own stops but Trish recommended the greatest places. I’ve been to LA so many times but had never seen any of these iconic places and didn’t know any of the history. We couldn’t have loved it more!

      Best Tour in Hollywood
I always search for the best tour to take when visiting a city and Trish at Tourific Escapes is the BEST! The registration process was very efficient. I emailed to inquire about vegetarian bites and received an immediate response. Again in preparation for visit, explicit instructions were provided. The tour was amazing. Trish arrives prepared to share her knowledge of the incredible history of Hollywood. You are taken back in time to the Golden Era of Hollywood to discover the basics of who, when, where and why it is what it is today. Trish did her homework. You walk the boulevard seen on tv and in movies and are given plenty of opportunities for photos. We were fortunate to visit on a day with plenty of activity for photos. Even being a Los Angeles native I learned so much. After the “sites” tour Trish takes you on the “bites” part of the tour. We were amazed at her ability to maneuver the busy LA streets, point out landmarks & obtain parking for the bites. We went to a brunch spot where we had a delicious French toast croissant. Next we went for the best pizza I’ve ever had. We stopped at a famous deli for another incredible tasting. The finales were sweet treats. The chocolate shop is my new favorite chocolate (and I was recently in Belgium). We also enjoyed a birthday ice cream (thank you). A sign that you have a phenomenal tour guide is the reaction of her peers during the tour. It was evident that Trish has a great relationship with her restaurants as well as the community of Hollywood. It was Impressive. This tour was just wonderful and I will recommend it to other locals as well as guests to Cali.

      ROYAL TREATMENT FOR CHOCOHOLICS
If you are into chocolate - this is for you. The tour starts at Jin Patisserie in Culver city, where you are tasting the most exquisitely decorated mini chocolates and light macarons in delightful flavours. Then the tour guide, Trish, takes you to 4 other locations in her beautifully appointed minivan. At Sinners and Saints, pictured first, you try decadent morsels while trying to guess whether it’s a “sinner” (gluten) or Saint (gluten free) - ALL YUMMY... Ginger’s offers ice cream in flavours I have never previously encountered... Then on to Ococoa which specialises in house made nut butter chocolate confections and truffles. Finally - a cookie shop called Zooie” located inside a gas station??? YES- the cleanest, most futuristic looking gas station at the corner of Castle Heights and National, offers a cookie shop selling the most delectable cookies: in addition to the “normal” flavours, you’ll find cheesecake, baklava, while chocolate and other incredible flavours which you just have to take home because, by that time, you are DONE! Trish is a fantastic host - knowledgeable and solicitous. A VERY FUN AFTERNOON!!!

Great tour guide, but not always great food
Our tour guide Trish was wonderful-- informative, energetic, and friendly. We especially like how she focused on our 9-year old daughter and made her feel extra-special throughout. The tour part of things was consistently good throughout, both during the walking tour and the driving tour. We had 5 food stops-- a taco place, a pizza place, a deli, a chocolate shop, and an ice cream shop. The taco place was nothing spectacular in our opinion. The pizza place (Mozza) was really great pizza though! The deli was also nothing spectacular in our opinion, though it was still good. The chocolate shop (John Kelly) was spectacular chocolate, possibly the best we'd ever had. The ice-cream shop was fine, but not a stand-out. Though it had many unusual flavor combinations (which we usually gravitate towards), most of them unfortunately incorporated rosewater, which we discovered we strongly dislike! Another couple that was with us, however, love rosewater and really liked those combinations, to be fair.

      Trish is Terrific
We learned so much on our tour about the history of Hollywood and the foodie history as well. I liked that Trish took us to the hidden gem places that you may not have found on your own. Our favorite place was probably Grub. The owner took the time to chat with us and was genuinely interested in everyone’s opinions. From appetizer to dessert it was all amazing. Highly recommend for Trish’s knowledge and bright personality as well as the divine delicacies we devoured.

      Tourific Escapes was Terrific!!
Everything went seamlessly, from scheduling, confirmation, receiving details about parking and traffic, and of course, the actual tour. Trisha was knowledgeable, accommodated our requests such as locating a specific star on the Walk of Fame for us, took photos for us, and made sure we were comfortable on the drive portion of the tour with water, temperature, seating, etc. It was amazing that so many people knew her and called out to her as we were on our tour. We especially enjoyed walking through the preparations for the Academy Awards at Hollywood & Highland and the Dolby Theater. You could feel the energy and excitement mounting. Trish also gave us tips on additional readings we could do to brush up on Hollywood history and lore; I've already ordered a book about the legendary Chateau Marmont; looking forward to reading it. The restaurants and food shops we visited were eclectic, unique, and tasty. Although I was born and raised in LA, I don't think I would have ever made it on my own to the places we visited, but I am sure I will be back. I most assuredly would recommend her to anyone; she is a kind person and loves what she does.

Truth be told, I'm not one that normally takes a guided tour when I travel. The mere thought conjures up images of double-decker buses, cheap sunglasses, and the optional photo opportunity for an additional $39.99.

However, on this trip to LA (having been there many dozens of times of times in my life), I thought it might be a welcome diversion to try something new. Looking at TripAdvisor, I was searching for something a little unconventional as to what the typical tourist would do and found Trish's combo Hollywood sights and food tour.

    "Perfect," I thought.

And we weren't disappointed. Trish provides an experience that is more personalized than many of the "big bus" Hollywood tour providers. While her tour includes stops on Hollywood Blvd and some of the other prominent sights in the area, she provides excellent insights and anecdotes about the areas she visits.

The stops for bites of food are off the beaten path; something that many of your fellow tourists would not otherwise discover. Most of these stops provide a glimpse of food offerings that only an insider would know about.

We found the pace and timing of the tour was right for our schedule. And, yep, it met my expectations for doing something a tad different on a day in Hollywood.

I booked this tour for my mom for Mother's Day based on the outstanding reviews on Trip Advisor. Once again, Trip Advisor reviewers were spot on!

When we met with our tour guide Trish at the lovely Roosevelt Hotel, she informed us that we were the only 2 people who were booked for that day. We essentially had our own little private tour. Trish is extremely informative about Hollywood history and provides a tremendous amount of interesting details throughout the entire 4 hours. The first hour or so of the tour was the walking portion around Grauman's Chinese Theater and Dolby Theater (where the Academy Awards are held). As both my mom and I are Southern California natives, we had been to these sites before, yet Trish showed us these locations in a much more informative light.

For the shuttle bus portion of our tour, we were driven around to different and delicious eateries by a very nice driver named Luis. Trish always provided history and information while we were on the van, and we drove past several interesting places, such as Paramount Studios, Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and so on. We stopped at 5 locations and enjoyed EVERY bite of the tour, although I do admit I had a special affinity for the ice cream stop at the end. It was a particularly nice way to end a delicious tour. You have time to purchase food, chocolate, wine at the different stops, if you wish.

One little side note if you are looking forward to cupcakes, Crumbs Bake Shop has sadly gone out of business in Hollywood and is obviously no longer a stop on the tour. Trish informed us at the beginning of our tour that the little shop was closed. After our Hollywood Sites and Bites tour, my mom and I headed to the Beverly Hills Crumbs, which is also closed.

Whether you are a local or a visitor, I recommend you spend the day with TOURific Escapes and their wonderful guide, Trish. You will enjoy every moment of your tour and you will finish full and satisfied! Apparently, many tour companies start up through the summer months in Hollywood, but I would recommend booking with this professional, well run tour company any day! Bon Appetit!

Hello Travel Girl, It was an absolute pleasure to have you and your sweet mom on our recent tour; thank you for choosing us to help celebrate her Mother's Day! I felt like I was spending the day with good friends...we had so much in common. I'm so happy to hear you really enjoyed the ice cream tasting at the end. It's no surprise that Mashti Malone's just made another list of best ice cream in Los Angeles! Thanks so much for your wonderful endorsement of our company, and come see us again. Wishing you a wonderful summer! All the best, Your Tour Guide Trish

There are tour guides and there are tour guides and they are pretty much the same. And then there is Trish: the owner, operator, major domo, and inspiration for all things culinary in Hollywood.

Trish takes you on a madcap food adventure from Pastrami to craft chocolate bites, from wooden crosses in the distant hillside to the true stories of Hollywood legends enshrined in concrete. Trish knows it all and breathlessly shares her deep knowledge with you. Do you know who Edith Head was and when did she die. How about Gig Young? And his classic role in "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?"

Hollywood is more than food, it the people who ate the food, who dined with the legends and who now make history now with their creative skills behind the stove, their aprons dusted with semolina flour. It all comes alive under her direction.

Trish, you are the true star on the walk of stars. And we loved you for the best tour ever.

Dear Les, Your review makes me glad I chose tour guiding as my new profession. I absolutely love being able to share my passion and interest in old (and new) Hollywood history as well as the culinary side of things. Thank you for appreciating my efforts and my tour. I continue to learn interesting new tidbits to share with my guests and hopefully that keeps my commentary fresh and relevant. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your enthusiasm and for taking time to share your thoughts here on Trip Advisor. Thank you for your support and I look forward to touring with you again! Warmest wishes from your new friend, Trish

We have done food tours in cities all over the world and this is right up there as one of the absolute best ones we've ever done. Everything about the tour is well thought out and executed by the fantastic Trish. What you will love - the small group size. Our group was limited to seven people which was just perfect. We are not fans of tours at all generally and will only ever do a food tour if we know the group size is small. You will get that here.

What you will also love - the guide - Trish brings a genuine energy to the tour and the walking section starting from the historic Roosevelt Hotel was excellent. I really didn't expect to get so much information on this part of this tour. This makes it so much more than a food tour (but the food is really really good!). The number of food stops is perfect and serving sizes just right so that you don't feel too horribly uncomfortable by the end but you will feel comfortably satisfied (I wouldn't recommend a big breakfast before the tour though).

I just want to reiterate that every food stop on this tour is quality, there are no fillers. I still smile when I think of the Mashti Malone's Ice Cream sign with the Irish Clovers (you'll have to go on the tour to hear the story about the Persian/Irish sign). We've also eaten ice cream at many locations around the world and the ice cream at Mashti Malone's is amazingly good, especially the Dulce de Leche. I rate it well above Bennetts. After visiting the Hollywood John Kelly Chocolate factory on the tour and seeing the chocolates being hand made, I was very excited to find that they also had a shop at Santa Monica where we were staying. I gave my mum some of the John Kelly Chocolates purchased after the tour as a gift and was told that they were "out of this world" good. Yes, they are that good. We had a mix of some local Southern Californian's, some Interstate people and us Aussie's on the tour and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. Don't consider any other tour of Hollywood - this is the one you should do.

Dear Belgo, Wow, what a wonderfully thorough review of your day with me in Hollywood! I very much appreciate your kind words and sincere recommendation to other travelers. I very much enjoyed hearing about the various food tours you have taken along your travels and plan to do some of them as well, for sure the one in SF. I am thrilled that you liked the small group size, it is important for me as a tour guide to get to know my guests and also it allows us to dine at the smaller family owned businesses that we like to highlight in Hollywood. Super happy to hear your mom LOVED her chocolate gift AND that you liked Mashti's ice cream so much. I happen to love it too, luckily I'm there several days a week to sample all the flavors. Their seasonal pumpkin should be out soon, you must come back to try it! Best wishes and continued safe travels from your new friend and tour guide, Trish

We just experienced the BEST tour!
Read the reviews but book her quickly because she fills up fast.
Trish and her husband own this company and it is Trish who hosts the tour.
She is super caring and informative.
Honestly... It was like having your favourite cousin take you on a tour around her favourite city.
Helpful tips.... Make sure you dress for the weather and have your comfy shoes on. The tour is half walking and then half in the new, comfy, a/c van. Your dining experiences start about an hour into the tour. The food choices are perfect!!! A great balance of savoury and sweet treats! The portion sizes are good too. We were STUFFED at the end of the tour.
We toured with our teenage daughters who are 16 and 14 and they enjoyed everything. ( and they are not easily pleased) they loved the tastings too.
The food spots Trish takes you to are hidden gems within the city. I won't spoil it for you by sharing the foods you try or places. It is so nice to be surprised. Some stars have visited these unique places and have even been spotted on the tour.
Trish gives you a lot of history on old Hollywood and points out landmarks and shares little know stories.
Our walk to the Chinese Theatre and seeing all of the Walk of Fame stars, was amazing. It is also great to have a tour guide to get you through the crowds and people selling stuff.
Summary: 4 hour, very personal tour.
    - she only takes 7 people in total
    - the price of the tour includes the food
    - a very good value for all that you get
    - Trish answers all your questions
    - Trish is a super safe driver
    - great way to see the city and to be safe and cool

Dear Tammy, what a wonderful summary you have put together here for other travelers to see. I am overwhelmed and full of gratitude for your very sweet and complimentary review. I love making people happy, especially when they're on vacation. Hollywood can be a bit tricky to find your way around, so thank you for appreciating my efforts. Your family is absolutely charming and I'm so thrilled to hear V and O enjoyed everything too. Thank you for making my day, and I sure hope to see you all again on another holiday. With warmest wishes from your tour guide aka your new favourite cousin, Trish

we took the sites and bites tour and just loved it. Trish is a fantastic tour guide, very accommodating and knowledgeable. The tour groups are small (we had 7 people) which makes it much more enjoyable as you can hear everything she says and makes it much more personable. It was a great combination of seeing the traditional "tourist" Hollywood places but getting to enjoy food from where the locals dine. Great way to see Hollywood!!!

Yesterday my girlfriend and I booked a Sites & Bites tour with TOURific Escapes. Our Tour Guide, Maureen, lives in the area therefore she was very knowledgeable about everything that was going on around us! TOURific Esacapes certainly mixes just the right amount of food tastings with sight seeing. Everyone had plenty to eat and being able to drive around Hollywood and have all of the sites pointed out to us was very fun.

Our driver for the day should get a gold star for maneuvering safely in and out of traffic and finding places to park that always got us very close to our destination!

Whether you are visiting from out of state or a local Californian who has never taken the time to be a tourist in your area, TOURific Escapes will take the best care of you for the duration of the tour.

We also had a 13-year old boy on the tour with us and when I asked him if he was enjoying the tour with all of the adults, he got a big grin on his face and said, "Oh Yeah!"

Dear Chocolate or Vanilla~ You must have really enjoyed visiting Mashti Malone's ice cream shop on the tour! So happy to hear you and your friend had a great time on Maureen's Hollywood tour. We agree that having a skilled and careful driver allows you to have even more fun on the tour cuz they get you up close to your restaurant tastings! That's our line, let us do the work so you don't have to! Wishing you safe summer travels and please come see us again. Sincerely, Trish & Matt TOURific founders

Fabulous tour! This is a super tour and I highly recommend. My kids are 13 and 17 and we all enjoyed learning some Hollywood info in between our day of grazing! Food was delicious and enough variety to please everyone. Trish did a great job helping us see the high points and and including everyone in the experience. I will recommend to all my friends!

This is a great small tour that was curated by a fantastic Hollywood culturalist and fine food enthusiast. You can't go wrong with either, and together, this tour was THE high-light of our 3 days trip in LA.

Trish is the founder of this small company and our guide for the day. Her commentaries are lively and really bring to life the old Hollywood glamor and stories of their time, and from a real, human perspective that was not the standard, cookie-cutter delivery I was expecting.

Our foodie journey began as early as in the first hour of this 4 hours tour, where we must pick from a box of 24 luxuriously yummy and different mini cupcakes from a well-known cupcake baker, I thought that was a real challenge for the appetite and it was just the beginning of difficult choices from the great variety of enticing snacks to follow. Noticed the name of the tour is "Sites and Bites", and the plural form of the word Bites means every offering (total 6 for our tour) was actually in snack size, each one can serve as a full-filling snack by itself, and together, a glorious feast on wheels. My favorite was the Pastrami sandwich from a famous deli that many celebrities frequent, no wait, maybe it was the maple glazed bacon in a spinach flour taco, hmmm, I forgot about the Persian ice cream with basil seeds and coconut, or the simply delicious oven baked pizza with olive oil, mozzarella and garlic that was housed within a fabulous wine store?

I am not going to tell you where we ate at, you will need to take the tour to learn about them yourself. This gold dining list I will keep as a treasured souvenir and share with friends, colleagues and families. I know I will hear many thanks in the years to come.
