Enjoy walking through time and "peek behind the canvas" as I guide you through the spectacular collection at The Getty Center Museum. You'll see the highlights of the museum and be wowed and amazed with the stories I'll tell you about how artists have impacted history and yet still relate to our current, everyday lives. DaVinci decoded. Rembrandt revealed. Monet mastered. Van Gogh verified. In the two-hour tour, find out why there are so many nudes in Renaissance Art--- and how Louis XIV, XV and XVI influenced fashion and furniture. And, why are there dead bugs, wilted flowers and skulls in Dutch paintings? Question why the Virgin Mary is always painted in red or blue or both. Why does impressionism look blurry? The 2-hour tour includes the highlights of the permanent collection, PLUS the Decorative Arts Pavilion ( with many items belonging to the Kings and Marie Antoinette) PLUS, you can opt to concentrate on a specific art period. It's about what you want!

Really good way to get an overview of the Getty Center
There’s a lot to see at the Getty, and this tour was an excellent introduction and overview for a first visit. Ellen took us around the galleries highlighting key pieces and providing a unique commentary that really kept us engaged. Would definitely arrive early, since parking, security check and tram ride takes much longer than you would think.

Getty Museum 2 hr private tour.
Ellen was our tour guide and she was terrific! In 2 hours she covered many different centuries of art, art history and fun facts. I highly recommend the Getty Museum Tour, and, if you can schedule Ellen Greenberg, if will be the best!

      Get a Guide!!
Six of us went with Ellen. She used to be a docent at the Getty and she was very knowledgeable. Meeting up with her was easy and I was able to EM her before the trip with questions. I highly recommend.

      Fun and Fascinating Getty tour
We had a group of seven adults yesterday touring the Getty.Ellen met us off the tram and immediately a five star tour began! Our group was fascinated by this wonderful experience. The Getty is a beautiful museum, and our guide took every opportunity to show us its special features - from beautiful outdoor areas, vistas, quirky behind the scenes facts, and world famous art. Ellen‘s easy style of delivery showcased her extensive knowledge of art history which coupled well with her love of researching the personal stories behind the art. Fun, personable, and always ready with a couple surprises to delight us. Over and over again we said how much fun it was and how much we learned. Everybody walked away saying that we are now spoiled for every museum yet to come! Even our dinner conversation last night was a lively reminiscence of everything we had learned that day. Thank you, Ellen!! This was our crowning experience of visiting California this trip. you gotta take this tour, for real -you won’t be sorry! Ellen, we cannot thank you enough. - Lorie from CT

Ellen's art tour is a must!!
To thank out-of-town guests who had come to LA for my daughter's wedding, I booked a 90 minute art guide led tour at the Getty Museum with Ellen Greenberg. Having experienced previous tours led by Ellen, I was confident that my guests would not only thoroughly enjoy the experience, but would come away with a deeper understanding of the artists and their extraordinary creations. I was right, but the credit all goes to Ellen. Ellen has a warm and engaging manner that draws you into a painting; she spell binds with the little known stories behind the paintings and of the artist themselves. She teaches without lecturing, and leads you to see the art you are viewing in ways that you would not otherwise do. Halfway through the tour my guests started pulling me aside to tell me how much they were enjoying it, and how incredible Ellen was! One guest admitted that he had never seen the need for an art guide before, but that Ellen had changed his mind. One of my cousins and her husband told me they would be recommending Ellen to all of their friends back home who were planning trips to LA. My only regret was that I booked the 90 minute tour instead of the two-hour tour!!!

      Can't Imagine Anyone Better
Ellen is an incredible guide. Her encyclopedic art knowledge and Getty knowledge just blows you away. She makes it fun by sprinkling in trivia throughout, sometimes juicy and salacious and sometimes more serious but maybe not as widely known or delivered by more formal guides. Most museums get pretty noisy so she has a microphone and gives each participant an earpiece, so even if you're deaf like me, she comes through loud and clear!

Sasha was fantastic! She is warm, funny and tremendously knowledgeable about the Getty and the collection. We have visited before and never gotten as much from our visit. And her pace was sensitive to our age.
    We would absolutely recommend Sasha.
