About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- PacificaTraveler12850 contributionsNo cell range for Verizon phone during this portion of the trip so it never get - located or activated the tour! This is probably a grey Troy However it is activated by location and given that there is no cell range or gps available in this are for either our Verizon or AT&T phones we couldn’t access the tourWritten 1 July 2024
- marymR5942SS0 contributionsMuch more fun than expected!More fun than you would ever expect! I thought it would be a laugh initially, but it turns out that it was fun, informative, and took us to places we would have never gone. We learned about the history of the region and stopped by some funeral places. The town of Piont Reyes was so charming, and we were there on a day when there was a farmers market. Recommendation: build in time to stop and explore!Written 12 June 2023

- Businessalways0 contributionsNot really a tourInteresting and informative audio but not a tour. Provided interest facts about the general area but did not point out sites or history tied to the route. Would have been better to read as an article.Written 24 July 2021
- B3021YImarkf0 contributionsPeople Save Cows!My favorite part of the tour was learning how this beautiful, unique landscape was saved by the work of dairy farmers and local environmentalists. Amazing what can be accomplished by people listening to each other and working together. I enjoyed this tour so much, I took the Cow Heaven tour too.Written 29 June 2021

- 418sallyf4180 contributionsThis was such a fun tour!Wow! This was such an amazing and informative tour! I loved the storytelling -- hearing directly from the ranchers and farmers who live here. The history of how this precious land got saved from development is inspiring.Written 8 April 2021
- Honora M0 contributionsExcellent tour, great for familiesLovely activity for visitors to the area and Bay Area locals alike! I learned a lot about the history of the area and loved all the stories. The tour is easy to access, well produced and accessible for all ages. My kids even loved it! Definitely check this out next time you visit Pt. Reyes, even if you have visited the park before.Written 11 March 2021
- jm22590 contributionsGreat tour—spend an afternoon in Cow HeavenReally enjoyed learning a slice of history while driving through a new part of West Marin. A great outing, even during covid. I hope to discover more tours like this.Written 17 February 2021
- hbshopgirl0 contributionsGreat ExperienceThis was a really good tour! I learned a lot about the history of the area and why there are still farms there. Driving through the area was so beautiful! And the stories they told really made it come to life. I love this tour! I would highly recommend the tour and might even do it again!Written 7 February 2021
- mychaddy0 contributionsDisappointing ExperienceThis is a rural area, the programs GPS was not working, it didn't know where we were so we didn't know where to stop. The idea is good, we were looking forward to hearing about the area's history. We heard a snipit of it, it would have been good if the program's GPS worked and cell service wasn't spotty. I have a Samsung galaxy note 10+ and Verizon. We also tried it on an IPhone with VerizonWritten 4 January 2021
- zwenythere0 contributionsSaving the land!In addition to the spectacular beauty of the environment, I was fascinated by the history and particularly the ability of a local collaboration to preserve such fabulous land for the rest of us to enjoy. Well done!!! I couldn't recommend this tour more highly.Written 2 August 2020
- tchr20180 contributionsHow a historic and beuatiful treasure was savedStrongly recommended activity, both during the pandemic and whenever. My enjoyment of the beautiful drive was enhanced by finding out the story of how this area was saved from development. The audio tour is well-paced and high-interest, and I love seeing where my milk comes from.Written 18 July 2020

I love knowing the history of a place when I'm touring. This well designed audio tour provided us with a "living history museum" experience. We heard interesting stories from a variety of voices and drove away with a much richer experience of the area than we would have otherwise.

As a Bay Area resident, I have visited Point Reyes many times because of its natural beauty, What I knew little about was the history of farming and ranching there, and why they are still so important to this unique and precious spot.
The tour guides were clear and engaging, and the history didn't feel like homework (in other words, this would be great for school-age kids). The voices of ranchers telling how people lived in the old days brought the landscape to life. If you're a foodie, don't miss the description of "Shafter Butter."

It was ok. The long quiet periods between checkpoints were kind of a bummer. The technology worked!

Cool. Who knew? Cows in the park! Wonderful to hear first hand stories about this incredible place. Having a personal tour guide on my phone, made everything come alive.

This was a wonderful experience. I found the stories compelling and learned a lot about California history and culture. The scenery was spectacular and I found that I observed much more because of the audio tour.

This was so interesting. The stories about ranching life were great, and I was happy to understand why there are all these cows in a National Park!!
