They went out of the way to accommodate me the best way to provide me winery recommendations and reservations with detailed instructions and a map that the afternoon was very enjoyable. - Fearless8007050 contributionsGoing North to Calistoga was so fun!!!So much fun!! We did the northern section of the Bike Path, from St Helena to Calistoga. The staff at the Napa Valley Bike Tours shop in Yountville were so great- ready to help us load the bikes and there to help to unload, and always so friendly! This is something that we plan to do again very soon!!Written 6 January 2025
- Culture610059209560 contributionsE-Bike adventure in NapaThe E-Bike rental was 100% the best day of my wife and I’s 5 day Napa Trip. We both rented E-Bikes and rode over 20 miles and did 3 wineries. It was a beautiful fall day and riding through roads of vineyards with all the fall colors was just a dream. We started the morning biking from the Yountville pick up to Far Niente Winery. We stopped at the Welcome to Napa sign on the way to get a picture. The bike ride in to Far Niente was 10/10 picturesque. The entrance is a long winding tree-lined drive and my wife and I took in all the vibrant colors. Also the wine at Far Niente was some of the best on our trip. We then biked to Oakville Grocery for a sandwich on their patio. The second winery of the day was a quick stop at Pine Ridge for a glass of wine. We capped the day with a porch tasting at Stags Leap. The E-Bikes are pedal assist with 3 different levels of assist. It was effortless to ride and all the roads had a bike lane and felt super safe. Very easy to cover some ground and see the Valley with the e-bikes. If you are considering renting bikes for a day, We believe the e-bikes are the only way to go. Napa Valley Bike Tours were super easy to work with and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.Written 24 November 2024

- GarthB630 contributionsThese guys are awesome! We had an amazing day cycling the Vine Trail in Napa. The team at both Napa and Yontville were super helpful and nothing was a problem. The bikes were great and had everything you needed including a bottle of water as it was a really hot day. We were able to park our bikes at the Yontville depot while we had lunch and they had lots of good suggestions for wineries to visit and how to the Napa sign. Shout-out to Tyler at the Napa shop, really friendly and helpful with lots of great suggestions. He got us set-up for a really fun day.Written 26 October 2024
- M3281SRwilliamp0 contributionsFun Way To Experience the ValleyWe rented E-Bikes for the day. Having never ridden one we were a little wary of how the experience would go. The staff at the Napa shop was very informative about how to use the equipment and where we could safely ride. The bikes were in great working order and the batteries held their charge all day. We took the bike trail to Yountville then over to Silverado Trail. We managed to get to all wineries we wanted and get a little exercise along the way. Highly recommend these guys.Written 17 October 2024
- jbfphilly20150 contributionsFantastic Full-Day E-Bike Tour with SantinoMy girlfriend and I had an amazing time on the full-day e-bike tour with Santino. I will assume the tour would be great with another guide, but I don’t know because we did it with Santino and he was fantastic. He was a great combination of personable, fun and knowledgeable. He also took a ton of photos, which he texted to us. The tour was much more enjoyable than simply driving to wine tastings. It was so pleasant cruising the e-bikes past all of the vineyards. We also made many stops at places like the famous French Laundry and the Napa sign. We even stopped and ate some grapes right off the vines. Get out of your car and on an e-bike. I should point out that I don’t really even like wine (although my girlfriend loves it). The tour was so great that even a non-wine-lover enjoyed it.Written 4 October 2024

- Zinfan110 contributionsRental for a solo rideI did not take a tour, I rented a road bike from the Napa shop and did a 60+ mile solo ride up to Calistoga and back on a Specialized Roubaix in pristine condition. Everything about my experience was excellent, the shop reached out to me the day before with helpful directions (and an upgrade on the bike I rented). They did a great job getting me set up and looked at the route I had planned with some helpful suggestions, and gave me contact info in case I needed it. The bike was perfect, and the ride was beautiful. At the end of the day they wanted to hear all about my ride, it was a great day. I will be back.Written 3 September 2024

This ride was so much more fun than my friend and I expected!!! It was such a great way to spend the day in Napa - sunshine, beautiful views, exercise, wine and lots of fun. We were smiling the whole time! Alan was an excellent guide, kept us safe and taught us about the vines, trees and agricultural activities we saw along the way. I had never ridden an e-bike before and it made the 3+ hour ride so easy. Now I want to e-bike my way around the world!

My husband and I had a great time! First time using e-bikes and they were simple to learn and made the ride even more fun. Beautiful ride along vineyard lined roads, smells of ripe grapes and wood, gorgeous weather and our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and showed us a good time. We all stopped at Ghost Block mid-way and enjoyed an informative and delicious tasting. Definitely recommend.

We enjoyed everything about this experience. Our guide, Santino, was amazing: extremely attentive and knowledgable about all things wine, the soil ecology and of course paid due diligence to our welfare on the road. We have been to Napa many times and this bike ride tour checked off an activity I have wanted to do for many years. The feel of the open road and the sights and smell of this beautiful California dream was wonderful. The rented gear was pristine, well serviced and clean. The organization clearly takes pride in what they offer and have gone to great lengths to ensure we are kept safe en route. The Winery we visited was excellent and provided us with beautiful sampling of their small boutique wines. This would have been a winery my wife and I would not have known about or visited had it not been for this bike ride and tour. We returned to our hotel room tired, but reliving our experience happily. Thank you again Santino, for finding the opportunity to snap those photos of my wife and I. You thought of everything!

We had John and Don as our guides. They are smart, attentive, wonderful men who we'd like to go to dinner with. Nothing but great things to say about both of them.
The bikes worked great. They were comfortable and easy to ride.
Two issues:
1. Road biking. We knew there would be some time on the road, but I guess we didn't think about what that might mean. We spent a mile or so on a road with no bike path. Cars passing us had to move all the way into the other lane to avoid us. It's California, so the drivers were very respectful. We didn't come close to a scary situation; nonetheless, it was unsettling.
2. Wine tasting. They took us to Bread and Butter. The wines were great; we bought 6 bottles (weirdly, they can't ship to NJ). But our wine educator was too busy, so the tasting took twice as long as any of the other 6 wineries we visited during the week (i.e tastings on other days). Also, our two guides had no where to sit by themselves, so they sat with us and watched us taste wine. They didn't participate. We loved the guides, but we didn't necessarily want to share this part of the experience with them (if that makes sense).
Overall, I hate to say anything negative because we really liked John and Don. But we feel like the experience can be improved.

Thank you for taking the time post a review. We love to hear that you had a great experience with Tour Guide John and Don, who was shadowing as a new guide hire. We are really fortunate to have cultivated a great team of tour guides.
We strive to be very transparent in setting expectations regarding the variety of roads and bicycling infrastructure included on our guided tour routes. Our routes include a combination of car-free bike paths (i.e. the Vine Trail), quieter country roads and some higher traffic roads where a Class II Bike Lane is present. We present this upfront on our website and it's detailed in our email confirmations along with an invitation to call us if anyone in your party has a concern or wants to the discuss the route in detail. We are so sorry that this messaging somehow failed to reach you.
The winery you mentioned is a newer property we just started visiting on tour. Our site visit and first few tours went great, but your Tour Guide did share the feedback that the service was very slow on the day of your visit. We have followed up with the winery and recent experiences have been improved. Unfortunately, it feels like it was an off-day at that winery.
Many wineries have policies where tour guides or drivers are prohibited from sitting with their guests during their tasting. There are valid reasons behind these policies; but ultimately, it's not a variable we have any control over.
Thank you for riding with us! We will be sure to share your appreciation with John and Don, who's already getting shout-outs before officially coming online as a Tour Guide!

Equipment was great. This is a 3 hour experience with 1 of the 3 at a winery where the sole purpose was to sell wine and a mandatory $20 admission fee. This is disclosed but if you are looking for a 3 hour tour this is not it.

We didn't know what to expect from this activity, but we were more than pleasantly surprised. Santino was a terrific guide: super-knowledgeable and full of energy. The ride itself was gorgeous. We rode by one vineyard after another in beautiful January sunshine. We learned a lot about wine-making, the region more generally, and the history of the Napa valley. The bikes are great for people of a variety of fitness levels -- one of us is an experienced cyclist and the other much less so -- and the different settings on the bikes in terms of how much assist you get were set up so that each of us could adjust to fit our capabilities. We went in the off-season so our group was Santino, the two of us, and Hiro, the photographer/videographer. I'd imagine the experience is less intimate in, say, September, when they can have up to 15 people in a group, but I assume that Santino's personality and energy would make your experience fantastic no matter the size of the group. We spent three days in Sonoma/Napa, and this was a highlight!

I am working myself in the wine industry and biking in the Napa Valley was on my bucket list for a long time. My teacher from the napa wine academy recommended this bike company. From A to Z i loved everything in this tour. First, Tom our guide was so kind, so professional and also so sportive, very impressed by his work. The bikes were pleasant, you can bring your own stuff the bikes are equipped to carry few things (sun block, they give you water, food bars, etc). The wineries were very cute and i was with two other nice couples guest i met. Beautiful ambiance, great trip. Is something to do definitely! Also they rent bikes if you just want to bike around by yourself.

The experience was great overall, but I want to impress upon anyone who is not active, you 100% should get an electric bike. Laughing, I rode 12 miles on a regular bike and at one point thought I was going to die. I am a walker, not a bike rider, and I met muscles I never knew existed Friday morning.
The wine tastings were lovely and the lunch was delicious!!
We had the turkey /cranberry sandwich!
Our guide, Steve, was very kind and made sure no one was left behind no matter how far back you may find yourself.

Fun! The bikes were very nice, helmet fit and just the right amount of time biking for me. If you are a serious biker, this may not be for you. Got to the keep the bikes after and we went for a short ride further and stopped for lunch. The winery we visited was nice and friendly, didn't push you to purchase. Richard, out guide, was attentive to the needs of one or two individuals who were leery of biking. All in all, definitely worth it and our foursome agreed it was one of the more fun things we did on our trip to Napa.

What a great experience! We had 3 generations of the family participate and all agreed this was the best part of our trip to the area. Both tastings were relaxing and informative, gave us a great overview of their wines. First part was easy ride through the countryside, more challenging part came after the tastings. Solid confidence and biking skills recommended.

Can our 15 yo daughter come along? How much?
Written 21 March 2019
Apologies for the long overdue response! Generally speaking, our guided tours are wine-focused and intended for adults; not all of the wineries we visit can allow guests under 21 inside their tasting room. That said, our Yountville shop is located just a few blocks from the Napa Valley Vine Trail (car-free bike path). We love setting up families with bike rentals that include an easy-to-follow map and we can point out some family friendly wineries that are easy to visit on your own without an appointment. Hope this info helps!

Which two wineries does this tour visit? I assume the cost for the wine tour is included?
Written 26 June 2018
Call the company. They change the winery. They can also take requests. Be prepared to pay $40-50 per person at each winery. We bought wine an the tastings were waved. The winery shipped wine to our home state.
The bike company will take wine to the shop if you want to carry wine to a restaurant. Corkage at restaurants are $15-25 per bottle.
