Check in 45 minutes prior to the departure of this tour. Upon signing a waiver and release form, a guide will help you get fitted into your river gear, which depending on conditions may include a wetsuit, splash jacket, neoprene boots, personal flotation device and helmet.
Then head down to a sandy beach next to a historic boathouse where you will meet your trip leader and get a safety briefing. After that they will introduce you to your guide who will go over how to sit in the raft, paddling techniques and commands to follow on the river.
You will have a few miles of beginner rapids to warm up before you enter Browns Canyon. Once you enter the canyon you will navigate seven class three (intermediate rapids) spaced over seven miles. This is a drop pool section, so there is a calm spot after each rapid.
Upon completion of the trip a van or bus will pick you up and take you back to where you started, where you can view photos of your raft going through Zoom Flume rapid.
