          Beware
Unfortunately Pete Giddy passed away several years ago but Tripadvisor still have not taken this tour down. They have now fully refunded me, fortunatly we met Alan McWilliam, email mchart@live.com, Cell +27 79 702 6214 at the Port Elizabeth cruise terminal who explained the above. He is a registered SA tour guide and worked for Pete Giddy. He took us on the tour and more. He turned what could have been a disaster into a magical day with lovely memories and photo's. I have given Pete Giddy' tour zero rating for obvious reasons but Alan's was 5 Star, book direct with him

Tour unavailable - Peter Giddy deceased.
Please be advised that Peter Giddy passed away in August 2021. I have tried to advise Trip Advisor of this fact without success. Tours booked though this platform will not happen, which will cause unhappiness and frustration when the tour guided simply does not show up. Alternative arrangements will have to be made - potentially a double payment with refund not guaranteed. (Info from Peter Joseph, SA Guided Tours, who worked in association with Peter Giddy)

          Scam!
I booked the tour a few days in advance. The evening before I wrote an email to make sure that the pick-up time was correct. Unfortunately I received no answer. The tour organizer does not appear then. I tried to call him but the number given was incorrect. I didn't get a reply from the chat either. Viator assured me that I would get a reply and a refund within 72 hours. But that wasn't the case either.

IF YOU LOVE ELEPHANTS YOU MUST VISIT ADDO ELEPHANT PARK!
Natural vast space for MANY elephants to roam, and the waterhole is a must visit to watch these majestic animals in their natural habitat. A wonderful experience and well worth prioritising a visit!

A Beautiful Hike up Lady Slipper
I have sent many of my tourists and guests on tours with Peter Giddy and they have always come back with glowing reports of the wonderful time they had. I was privileged to take my grandson on a hike up the Lady Slipper Mountain just outside Port Elizabeth. Peter was a great host and made the walk so interesting by pointing out different plants along the way and telling us stories about the area. He has many other walking/hiking tours and I would recommend that you do as many of these with Peter as you can I would recommend any tour with Peter.

Addo Elephant National Park and Kragga Kamma Wildlife Reserve
We had an amazing day trip with our guide, Frank Smith. Frank was very knowledgeable and we were very impressed with his professionalism. Would definitely book another tour with him. The park was well worth a visit. Lots of animals up close.

An excellent tour - highly recommended
As we were visiting Port Elizabeth on a cruise ship for only 1 day, we were looking for a tour which gave us maximum opportunity to see and learn about the wildlife in a relatively short time and at reasonable cost. We booked this tour with Peter Giddy by email before embarking on our cruise. We were picked up at the cruise terminal soon after our arrival and spent the whole day touring the wildlife reserve and Daniell Cheetah project before returning to our ship at the time required for sailing. Both locations were wonderful providing close encounters with numerous animals. The staff at the Daniell Cheetah project were obviously passionate about their work and were very informative as they guided us through their facility. We can highly recommend this tour. PS Don't forget your camera as there are countless photo opportunities.

          Two wonderful day tours
We've just returned from a first holiday in South Africa and the two days we spent with Peter were among the highlights of our trip. We spent a day with Peter in Addo Elephant Park and he was able to help us spot many animals, including the lions which we would never have seen on our own. The temperature reached 38 degrees outside and we were very grateful to be in an air-conditioned van and protected from the dust (unlike many other open-sided safari jeeps). There was plenty of time for my husband to take photos and for us to just sit and observe the interactions between the family groups of various animals. Peter was highly knowledge and we learnt so much about the animals but also about life in South Africa on our trips with him. We returned to Addo the next day on our own and we knew where to look for the wildlife from the tips we had picked up on our first day with Peter and this helped us get the most out of our second day in Addo. We spent a second day with Peter. In the morning we had a leisurely canoe trip down the Sundays River (along it's narrow parts) and we were able to spot and photograph a wide variety of birds. We then went onto the Daniel Cheetah project where we were able to learn about how cheetahs are being saved from extinction and get up close to one. We highly recommend using Peter as your guide to Addo and for other activities around the Port Elizabeth area. His knowledge and expertise really enhanced our whole holiday experience.

          What an amazing adventure
What a wonderful day with Peter Giddy! We were 3 women visiting the Addo and it became an unforgetable experience since he is a great guide with a huge knowledge about the animals, the park … We asked lots of questions and non of them remained unanswered. Thanks to Peter we saw lots of animals very close to the car, we were even able to watch the lions. He was always on the spots where something was going on. Time flew by like nothing. It's not only a job for Peter taking tourists on tours, you feel he really likes what he is doing. He is also very interested in the people who book his tours. He is a very open minded person. So we had very interesting chats about many topics. It seems to us that we already know him for a long time. Thank you very much, Peter!

Thank you very much for the game drive to Addo, Peter! Your are simply the best! We really enjoyed the tour and profited from your knowledge and experience, where and when to see all the animals in time! Thx! Jörg

Heritage coastal walk and Addo Elephant Park day trip
What a fantastic day. We were in Port Elizabeth for one day on a cruise ship. Three couples had contacted Peter separately to ask about a tour for the day. As someone had asked for a walk to be included, we went along with this, and what a good choice it was. Peter was with his minibus near the ship’s gangway waiting for us. We were soon on our way on a 30 mins drive to a coastal path that a local resident had created as a hobby over a number of years, that took in what we can only describe as an eclectic garden along the route. It was beautifully created, which you can be assured is worth the visit coming from professional gardeners. After this walk we were driven about an hour away to Addo Elephant Park. Peter drove us around, using all his expertise and knowledge to find elephants and a lot more. We won’t list everything we saw as this review would never end, as well as nothing is guaranteed in nature and therefore wouldn’t want to leave you disappointed if you saw less. We had a very filling picnic in the park before a final drive through the park and the return journey to the ship on time. Peter is a very knowledgeable guide on all things flora and fauna. He established early on in the day and even from earlier exchanges what each of us wanted out of the day, which he went out of his way to find. He was such a careful driver that he even went out of the way to avoid running over the odd dung beetle on the park roads by swerving around them. A fantastic host who we would have no hesitation in booking again for any tours in the Port Elizabeth area and further afield.
