I had so much fun with my friends! They take you to the island to play an escape room on it! We played Castaways escape island. I’ll let y’all know how the Mermaid adventure goes!

We had a great time snorkeling and exploring the islands. We did a treasure hunt game on a small island and just relaxed in the water and beauty. Kyle and Lauren were great and a lot of fun.

Great experience. Private boat ride. Went out to a cool snorkeling spot then did an awesome castaway escape room on a secluded island. Then did more snorkeling. Then more boat cruising. It was awesome and well worth it. Bring sturdy water shoes.

We did the mermaid adventure 3 children ages 10-13. We all enjoyed the adventure from the adults to the youngest child. We saw some beautiful fish and stingray while snorkeling, then a few dolphins, and lastly while doing the challenge we saw a jelly fish. We also completed the challenge to reverse the spell and returned us to our mermaid life. It truly was a great time with. Kyle and the captain (sorry I can’t remember his name) are good at what they do.

We had such an amazing experience with Captain Kyle! Over the years, we've done and LOVED the escape rooms at Key West Room Escape. Last year, Kyle mentioned that this tour was in the works, and we were SO excited to see it live and bookable this January. It was an amazingly chill day-- from getting to snorkel in a coral reef, to learning about the island and area, and then getting to have an awesome time with a great escape puzzle. As we rode back into the harbor, we got to watch the sunset with an even better view than Mallory Square, and even got to see a shark and a manta ray! We've done escape rooms up and down the east coast, and this was one of the most memorable experiences we've ever had. One thing that I appreciated was since the puzzles were new and we were so fascinated, Captain Kyle talked to us a lot about designing the challenges and troubleshooting them. Because it is not THEIR island, the puzzles are carry-in-carry out, but as he described the process, we could tell that they're working every day on making things even more integrated into the island itself. With his love of designing and the incredibly unique atmosphere of being on a tiny desert island, I cannot wait to see this experience grow into itself even more. I admit we might have been the perfect target audience-- a group of 20somethings who love to hike, swim, picnic, get dirty, and love escape rooms, and have a lot of appreciation for innovation and no need for things to be flawless. If you are looking for a polished luxury charter, handicap accessibility, or an escape room that has every inch designed into its architecture, this might not be the room for you (for the latter, try their brick and mortar escape rooms!). If you are up for an adventure, a bit of roughing it, and a day that feels like an experience led by a cool friend, it is perfect. We cannot wait to try their other island escapes next year. Worth every penny.

Captain Kyle and his escape rooms charters rock! Snorkeling, a bring-your-own picnic, escaping the castaway island, and a lovely sunset on our way back all made for an outstanding day.

What a wonderful trip! Our Captain Kyle was so knowledgeable and fun. He showed us around the surrounding Keys and took us to a great snorkel spot. We even saw dolphins!! Capt. Kyle then took us to “Castaway Key”, our private island for escape! We enjoyed our snacks and took another dip in the water while Kyle put the finishing touches on our escape. If you’ve ever done one of the Key West Room Escape rooms before (and if not, I HIGHLY recommend) then you already know you’re in for a treat! What a fun and well thought-out escape from Castaway Key! After our escape, Capt. Kyle finished up our tour with a beautiful sunset cruise back to land. The 3 of us have been big escape room enthusiasts since getting into them a few years ago and this was the best one yet! What a way to intermingle a charter cruise with an escape! Definitely an adventure tour perfect for getting out on the water and enjoying ALL that Key West has to offer. Couldn’t have been a better day on the water

Best time I had in the Keys! Great price for what you get! Saw dolphins, stingrays and a ton of fish while snorkeling! Escape is also a blast, Capt Kyle is super cool and will modify trip to you!

This was the highlight of our trip! My family, friends and I come to Key West every year for Thanksgiving and this was by far one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had in years! Kyle was the best tour guide as he brought us on a private boat charter around Key West. We saw dolphins (they came right up to our boat), we snorkeled, did an escape room on a private island, and saw the sunset! This was definitely worth every penny. Taking a cruise on Funkey Charters is a MUST if you’re visiting Key West.

Take an escape room and mix it with a private island tour and you have this amazing experience! It was so much fun to figure out how to "escape the island," although it was such a gorgeous location that I almost didn't want to leave. If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Duval for a little while but want more than just the average beach charter, look no further!
