Florida's mangrove forests form shady canals and tunnels that are ideal for kayaks, and the maneuverable craft of kayaking allows you to go where larger boats can't. This small-group tour explores the Sarasota Bay while searching for manatees and dolphins, and then goes deep into the mangroves to spot even more native plants and wildlife. With a kayak guide to lead the way, you can also learn paddling techniques that come in handy.
  • Follow mangrove tunnels one of the only ways you can—in a kayak
  • Get a chance to see manatees and dolphins in their natural habitat
  • Learn the basics of paddling technique from your guide
  • A fun, active way to get out on the water during vacation
What to Expect
Make your way to a central location in Sarasota that's near Lido Beach, and start by getting fitted with a kayak, paddle, and personal flotation device. Good for kayakers of all skill levels, this boat trip starts with a briefing on paddling techniques and safety. It also uses kayaks that are easy to steer and quite stable, great for the calm waters of the bay. After launching the kayaks, paddle around the bay, and search for manatees and dolphins, wildlife native to the Florida coast. Next, duck underneath the mangrove canopy, where trees thrive in the salty coastal water, providing habitat for a wide range of animals and smaller plants. This kayak tour concludes at the original departure point.

Great fun kayaking today. Enjoyed our guide Larry who was very knowledgeable about the Manatees and the local area. Also, the mangrove channels are a real highlight. Would definitely recommend!

This was a really cool kayak tour. My parents and brother went with me and we used the tandem kayaks. We did not see any manatees or dolphins, but did see some mullet, all sorts of birds, and spider crabs. The guide, Mark, was a older fellow and kind of sassy. He joked that my

I went with my son. Although we live here in Sarasota, the close encounter with Manatees was such an awe moment. Kayaking through the mangrove tunnels was challenging but only because I wanted to take lots of pics of this wonder and it was hard to navigate the kayak with the
