- kingofcashmere0 contributionsA must for IcelandA really interesting tour and a must do for a stay in Iceland . The waterfalls and Geisers are amazing the crater not so much in my opinion . If your tour includes lunch at The Tomato farm beware it is expensive for lunch even by Icelandic standards . The famous Tomato soup the push is £20 each ! Came out with a bill for lunch for 4 of £180 with 2 beers !Written 12 January 2025
- Kathy J0 contributionsWonderful tourFantastic tour with Darren as our guide and Helgi as our driver. Pick up was seamless and all on time and we couldn’t have asked for a better day out seeing the wonderful sights of Iceland. Darren our guide gave us such a fantastic dialogue for the whole journey on all things Icelandic, which was so interesting and really made you appreciate what a lovely country it is. Before each stop, Darren told us exactly what to expect and how to make the most of our time. We had plenty of time at each spot to enjoy the surroundings, take a comfort break and fit in refreshments. They always say a guide makes or breaks a tour and for us Darren certainly made a world of difference and it made it the best tour of our trip to Iceland. Thank you Darren and Helgi f From the ladies in the front seats!Written 12 January 2025

- Travel562928510250 contributionsA Wonderful DayUnforgettable tour with amazing views and great commentary along the way! One thing I wish is that we were able to quickly stop at a stable/area to see the Icelandic horses for a quick 10-15 minute photo stop. There would have been countless opportunities to do this along the way.Written 7 January 2025

Darren is very knowledgeable, has strong communication skills and also has a very good sense of humor 🤣 such an enjoyable day trip with a 3 hour sleep night before! - aBouncedCzech0 contributionsGolden Circle Adventure: Stunning Sights, Stellar Guide, and a Spa to RememberMy family and I (four adults) recently took the Golden Circle and Sky Lagoon Geothermal Spa Tour from Reykjavik, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience! While there was a lot of time spent on the bus and less time at each stop, the destinations were absolutely stunning. Our guide, Darren, was fantastic—knowledgeable and engaging—and our driver, Helgi, expertly navigated icy roads and near-blizzard conditions, making us feel safe throughout the journey. The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the Sky Lagoon. I could have spent an entire day there! If you’re planning to visit, be sure to make reservations as they were fully booked when we went. Don’t miss "The Ritual," the spa's seven-step process—it’s a must-do! Another tip: try the lamb soup at the Gullfoss gift shop. It’s delicious and a perfect treat for a cold day.Written 4 January 2025

Tour guild Darren was full of interesting facts and information of each location and Iceland throughout the tour, which was fantastic and made the day very enjoyable. He even gave a personal low down on restaurants, activities and food halls within the Reykjavik area to visit during our stay. Really good and provided a list to take of photo of for reference. - Maps170782198690 contributionsGrey line tours…Do not book with this companyGrey line Iceland in Reykjavik…Where do I start? I booked and paid extra to be picked up from in front of the hotel (I have mobility disabilities) The male guide was friendly enough but made a complete mess of trying to explain the Northern Lights. We got to the viewpoint but had to move after 5-10 minutes because of some disagreement between drivers. Another 2 hours later we arrived somewhere else where we obviously wouldn’t see them because of the lights. Returning to the hotel the driver & guide were busy telling each other their plans for NYE celebrations & what houses they’re buying etc. Instead of being returned to the hotel directly we were left at a bus stop nearby. If it wasn’t for the help of 2 lovely ladies from India I may have ended up in hospital. If you’re booking a tour in Reykjavik book with a different operator!!!Written 31 December 2024
- CraigF9240 contributionsA must for any first time visitorWe have done this tour twice now, once nine years ago and this time with our three grown up children. Let me start with our guides, Darren and Helgi (I have got the drivers name wrong I'm sure, sorry, it was the tour on Saturday 28 December). Darren was an excellent guide giving lots of insight to the country and the areas we were visiting. Having done a number of such tours over the years I would rate Darren in the upper quartile of guides, he even shared a list of places to eat or of interest within the city. The weather in Iceland in December is clearly cold, icy and often snowy so having a driver you trust is paramount and Helgi was great. Having done the tour before we knew what to expect but it didn't diminish the impact of seeing the falls, the geysers or the general landscape in Iceland. The "kids" (18 to 27) really enjoyed the tour and they are now of an age to really appreciate what they were seeing.Written 31 December 2024

Myself and my wife recently visited Iceland for the second time and knew in advance that the airport is approximately 50Km from Reykjavik.
On our previous visit we had used Grayline for airport transfers and several trips. Before travelling we pre-booked tickets for both our journies to and from the airport and both ocassions we were dropped off and collected directly to our hotel.
The buses were really clean, on-time and the drivers really helpful and it certainly provided us with comfort that we were in good hands.
Definately recommend Grayline for this service for any potential travellers to Iceland.

I booked a round trip airport transfer for our son and his family(children ages 2 and 4) for a family reunion May 2022. I also booked for my husband and myself arriving hours earlier. We all report clean buses and timely pickup at arrival and at departure day. I had requested the appropriate car seats for our grandchildren and the bus driver did have them.
I had contacted customer service with questions and the customer service manager, Gurry, was outstanding ! He was VERY patient in answering my many questions and helpful in offering suggestion for a better drop off location for our son/family than the one I originally ordered. For son and his family we reserved the bus to Reykjavik and reserved the private van transfer to get them back to KEF at end of vacation. Worth the $$ for my piece of mind and the ease for our son with the luggage and children. Thank you Grayline customer service and drivers for getting and ending our Iceland vacation with perfect transfers.

We used Greyline for our Keflavik airport - Reykjavík hotel transfers and they were all on time, with helpful staff and clean buses. Just be aware, that because pick ups mean multiple stops and even having to change buses and the airport is so far away from the city, that you can spend up to an hour and a half to get from airport to hotel, or vice versa. The pick up to return to Glasgow is at 03.30 for the 07.30 flight.

Terrible service, poor communication, rude rep at airport and delayed by an hour waiting for transport.
Greeted by Gray Line rep at airport, confirmed on list for transfer and asked to 'wait just here'. Other passengers given the same instructions and group patiently waited for transport. 30 mins later when we asked if the transport had arrived, we were greeted with 'you should have caught your bus, it left 15 mins ago' followed by 'I am not here to babysit you'. We were transferred to the next bus and when we boarded the driver explained he had phoned the rep to ask where the missing passengers were. We also observed Gray Line buses were a long walk from the airport over high kerbs and based in the public car park versus Fly Bus which had prime position right outside the airport doors.
Checked return trip process with Rep and responses were again rude ('have you not read your booking email?') but eventually the rep explained that we had to phone the office 24hr before to confirm we would turn up to our collection point and the bus might arrive 30mins ahead of pick up time so bit of a lottery. Didn't trust Gray Line for return trip so cancelled booking and went with Fly Bus. Eventually got refund for the cancelled return trip! Glad we did as others on our trip experienced same treatment on return, bus did not turn up and had to catch taxi.

Absolutely horrendous experience with Greyline airport express.
My flight was delayed (pilot was ill) and as a result I missed my pick up time for the airport express bus. When I called the phone line for help, instead of being understanding of a already stressful situation, I was met with aggressive questioning of what I did to delay my flight (as if I had any control of whether the flight was delayed or not) and was told to wait hours at the airport for the next bus because they did not have any other flights booked in for the day.
When I asked if there was any alternative bus routes to take, in order to get me off the line asap the staff (Agnes and Pept - dear god if you get one of these people do not trust a word they say) told me to book a bus with another company, promising me that if I secured a receipt of the trip and explained the situation in an email I would be able to get a full refund for the trip.
Low and behold, when I send the email to Greyline and follow up with a call I was informed that no promise was made, that I was the one lying, no refund would be given and that I should stop bothering them.
Completely disingenuous and deceitful behaviour from the company and absolutely disgusting service from the help staff. Making sure to stay well clear of the company in the future and praying that you do too because they will stab you in the back if something goes wrong.

Thank you James W for your feedback. It is truly unfortunate that you missed the last transfer of the morning due to a flight delay.
We cannot be responsible for flight delays or passengers missing their reserved transfers and any discrepancy by airlines should be reported to the relevant airline for compensation.
Our staff will of course offer you the next available departure but if the next one is much later due to the fact that no flights are landing until the afternoon then we can only offer you this particular departure as our buses are scheduled according to demand and airline schedule.
Our staff is very helpful in amending bookings whenever possible, they will ask you to write in and see what can be done and if a customer can use their credit for example to return to airport as a possibility. According to terms and conditions of any ticket booked, the ticket is non-refundable. When booking you agreed to this term, Our staff will suggest alternatives and offer information of what you can do if you are not able to wait until next departure. I cannot see that our staff did anything other than try to assist you and it is their duty to ask for information.
If you are not satisfied with our service and feel we could have done better then I encourage you to write to us at iceland@grayline.is - an indemnity letter to proof that you missed your reservation can be provided.

A little confusion at the airport… they didn’t send me to my hotel (in Reykjavík, a bus can ONLY drop you off at a bus stop…. So no chance of getting dropped off at your hotel no matter what they say)…. But at the main bus terminal, my driver hooked me up with a new mini bus and that driver (it was raining) got me as close to the hotel as he could …. Overall not a bad experience that is to a couple nice Icelandic guys… the company sells you a lot more!!!! If I didn’t run into a few nice guys , I would have been screwed !!!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Use FlyBus instead!
I booked a transfer from my hostel to the airport in Iceland and they did not pick me up. I got a confirmation from them and everything.
I had to take a $200 taxi when the transfers usually cost $30. I have been fighting with them to get compensated for the taxi because I would’ve booked through FlyBus. Everyone makes mistakes but they need to learn to rectify the situation.
I work in the travel industry and would never use this company again.

It is truly regrettable that our repeated notice by e-mail did not reach you to let you know of the half hour earlier schedule change. Apparently our e-mails did not reach you due to a spam block on your e-mail account. We did not receive any notice that our messages were rejected.
As we did not receive any news from you we did not send a vehicle for your transfer, unfortunately.
Your tickets were consequently refunded but we could not take responsibility for the extra expense of the taxi.
I do hope that your visit with us in Iceland was otherwise pleasant

I booked Grayline through 'Holiday Extras' for transfer from airport to hotel and return. It was the cheapest transfer I could find and great value for money.
Both companies were amazingly efficient regarding information and communication. I felt totally confident of being collected and delivered safely and on time. The drivers on both trips were punctual and so friendly and helpful with luggage.
Fantastic service.

Gray line was part of our holiday package . We were picked up by coach from the airport . En route we stopped at their main depot, to board a mini bus which took us to our hotel . We called their office to arrange our departure day/ time, were picked up by minibus, to their deport , which took us back to the airport .

I misunderstood the departure time of the bus because it was written: departure at 12:30 pm, then I arrived at 12:20 pm and the bus had already left. I called the company and the attendant put me on the next bus. I waited until 1:40pm and the bus didn't show up. I called again and as it was already late I would miss the flight. The attendant instructed me to take a taxi to the airport and they would reimburse me.. I went back to the hostel and they helped me researching the best option. I took a taxi to the bus terminal and managed to catch another bus to the airport. The company told me that they did me a favor by putting me on another bus and that they would not reimburse me for the loss I had with the taxi. I don't recommend it at all

Thank you Elaine d for writing your review. Regrettably our staff tried their best to accommodate you after you missed your original pickup but as the time was running out it was not possible to arrange another departure.
We have already cancelled and refunded your original booking as a gesture of good will but regrettably not able to refund the taxi fare you needed to take in order to catch another transfer to the airport.
