We visited the RV Museum off I 80 just east of Elkhart Indiana. It’s a collection of Travel trailers and Motor Homes plus a few very unique camping additions to vehicles dating back to the Model T days!
It’s been a destination place for me when I have visitors for several years. Even if you are not into mobile travel homes I believe it would be enjoyable!

Great find on our travels to Nebraska. If you enjoy camping this museum is a must. We are tent campers, however some of the museum pieces look like tents. Advancement in technology within the travel equipment was awesome to see. There are travel trailer displays that will give you the creeps, laughs, and appreciation for the modern day trailer.
We did visit just after the museum reopened due to Covid 19. The staff does a great job keeping the museum, displays and restrooms clean.
Plenty of RV parking.

We went to Elkhart primarily to visit the Hall of Heros Superhero Museum, and added this to our visit to Elkhart.

What a wonderful, interesting, quiet, clean place to visit.

We do not have an RV, but this museum covers the history of camping/RV-ing from the early 1900's (and earlier?? - I think), with wagon/truck campers through the highest end RV's. We had a fun time looking at all of them, my husband remembering his childhood days in an early pop-up camper, and us both being amazed at the 42' "RV" from an early aircraft company CEO.

In another wing of the museum is a model of the modern RV production floor, showing how an RV is manufactured. It was interesting to see that too.

Admission staff was delightful.

My family and I don’t really know much about RV’s, but we figured we would make a stop at the museum on the drive to our vacation destination. When you walk in, we were greeted by a nice employee, as well as a gift and souvenir area. The admission was rather inexpensive as our son got in for free for his age, and my father got a senior discount (even though he isn’t that old). The museum was neat to see, especially the section that takes you down a “road” and has all different RV’s, campers, etc. Some of which you can walk in and observe first hand. There was also a few interactive spots. As said, we don’t know anything about RV’s, but managed to get about 1.5 hours out of the stop. I don’t know if I would make a trip just for it, but we also aren’t RV people as mentioned previously. I would recommend it though if you’re driving by and want to see some neat things and stretch your legs.

We went in the afternoon and had the museum to ourselves. The RV’s are very cool. We enjoyed being able to go in some of them.

This was an interesting place to visit. There were a lot of trailers beginning from the early years thru today. You can go inside some of them.

Take an hour to go down memory lane starting with earliest RV from 1913. Probably not worth a special trip but since it is minutes off I-80, it is worth stopping to take a break. Ample parking for RVs.

If the "ooh looky that" and "My goodness" at the first RV is your interest. . Than this is your spot to check out. In the future it would be nice to see many more old ones. IT IS A MUSEUM, nothing is gonna sing and dance for you. So expect a nice reminiscing time looking. At least an hour to walk threw with small movie. We enjoyed it, felt the price could have been a bit lower.
