Fun Experience for Fans of the Film
Jun 2021
If you are a fan of the movie then I feel this is worth a visit. We took the house tour with Teresa and she was great. She gave lots of facts about the movie and filming. Enjoyed how the house (bottom level) is set up to replicate what it looked like in the movie. If you take the tour you also get a special magnet, which was a great souvenir. We ate a hot dog, sat on the bleachers and walked around a bit. Whether or not you can get a shot of the field without too many other guests on it is all luck and timing. The gift shop was nice, BUT I have to say I was disappointed there weren't items that I saw on the online shop. I like to collect small souvenirs, magnets, ornaments - things like that. These items were on the website, but I didn't find them in the actual shop. We drove quite a ways (3 hours) to get there, which really I would only recommend coming from that far if you are definitely doing the house tour. Also, think about what time of year you're going if you want the tall corn field effect! Corn is only ankle high in June. :) Overall, a fun Iowa stop if you enjoy the film, glad they made it into an attraction.

Field of Dreams 2021
My husband and I brought my elderly parents for the farmhouse tour. Our tour guide Theresa was the best. She was so informative and made the tour extra fun. We left wanting to re watch the movie immediately. Afterwards we played a little catch and hitting in the field. We have some great video and pics of our fun experience.

Although I had some reservations about the time and price involved (I thought it was a lot for little), I thoroughly enjoyed the excellent tour. Craig does a wonderful job, and the story is so much more than just the movie itself.

The fact you can enter the property for free is such a wonderful perk. It is a rare think for be welcomed for free.

The home tour was wonderful. the only thing i wish it included was a tour of the upstairs. To be able to view the field from a corner bedroom would make for a great photo opportunity.

Trip of a Lifetime
May 2021 • Family
What a great trip. Our whole family loves the movie. We drove in Saturday evening, knowing the field would be closed, but we couldn't wait until the next day to drive by and see it. As it turned out, a travel tournament was going on, and the field was still open. We stayed and watched the home run contest until late into the evening. We came back the next 2 days, watching games, playing catch, walking around the property, and having the time of our lives. It was an amazing combination of feeling in awe and at home all at the same time. The travel ball kids were incredibly sweet to our boys. They invited them to come out and hit with them and even let them both get home runs, which my kids will remember forever. Everything about the property is perfect. The snack shop, which is very reasonably priced, even has a cash bar. The gift shop is great. Budget to buy something to remember your trip. For the most part, this was a very modest trip. We stayed at the American Inn & Suites in Peosta, Iowa, which was very well kept and reasonably priced. We really splurged the last night and stayed at the house, and it was amazing. We also paid for exclusive access to the field for the evening -- some of the best family time we’ve ever had. We got to turn the lights on and off on the field and play ball with our boys all night. They gave us a wonderful gift basket with a picnic towel, a bottle of wine, popcorn, a Field of Dreams baseball, a DVD of the movie, and a gift card to lots of local establishments. (We highly recommend the Textile Brewing Company.) Our stay at the house included a tour that was nothing short of magic. Teresa was incredibly patient with our boys’ questions and enthusiasm about the movie. She was a perfect tour guide, enhancing our experience with lots of fascinating information about the home, the property, and the movie. Everyone who worked there was great. Tom was very kind, and made us all feel at home. The only downside was that it was not communicated to the general public that the field had been rented for the evening, so several families came onto the field with us that evening. We felt like jerks, but at 8:00, after everyone had all been there a while, we told them we had rented the field for the evening and that it was closed. We noticed there was a sign in the house saying the field was closed & had been rented for the night. They probably forgot to put it out. So, if you splurge and spend the high price to rent the field, you will want to ask that they put the sign out. It’s tough to recreate the scene where Ray & Annie have a picnic on the field with people playing frisbee over top of you. But, that in no way made our trip less enjoyable. We would highly recommend this destination.

It was a wonderful experience. The ghost player, Frank, was so interesting and enjoyable to listen to. Anyone wishing to bat while Frank pitched was welcome to do so.
Any questions the tour had was answered by Frank and all the people were super friendly.
