A coffee farm out of a fairytale
This was one of the best coffee tour I've been on and 100% the most beautiful. Jorge who is local to Jerico and a son of Antioquia is very knowledgable and passionate about the history and culture of the region and a warm and honest personality that makes it feel like we were just his friend who are invited to visit. He showed us not only the history but spoke very passionately about the real current challenges of the local cafeteros and advocated for a more compassionate and ethical coffee trade that can uplift the local communities. The farm is something out of a fairy tale. It sits a top a peak overlooking the vast valley and the Cauca river below. In the morning when we arrived it was shrouded by clouds and as we finished our lunch, the clouds parted to review a breathtaking scene. Don Diego and his family were incredibly welcoming and gifted us with, I believe, the best Pandeja Paisa in Antioquia, complete with the traditiona banana leaf wrappings. Enjoying great coffee and delicious lunch with that view is one of my favorite moments of my entire trip. After lunch Jorge took us to a gorgeous off the beaten path waterfall that no one can find unless you have a local like Jorge. Overall I fully enjoyed the Coffee Culture tour with Jorge and I highly recommend.

An unforgettable experience - the most incredible coffee tour!
This tour was THE highlight of our 2 week trip to Colombia. If you are planning to visit Jericó and take a coffee farm tour, THIS is the one. Jorge's knowledge and passion for his home town and his coffee is outstanding, and adds so much personal flavour to the tour. Additionally, Jorge speaks English perfectly and we were glad to have the option to take the tour in our native language, as our Spanish is not very strong. The coffee finca is quite remote and we would not have been able to access it without the local knowledge of Jorge. The most beautiful coffee farm in the world is no exaggeration - the finca was surrounded by clouds in the morning, which opened up in the afternoon to the most spectacular views of the stunning waterfall and river valley below. I will not forget sipping my coffee in front of that view. Diego, Miriam, and Ariel are the most welcoming family and we feel honoured to have shared their home for one fine afternoon. Miriam prepared the most delicious traditional lunch of bandeja paisa (with vegetarian option too) - definitely the best meal I ate during my 2 weeks in Colombia! 100% could not recommend more highly!

So much more than a coffee tour!
I've been on a few coffee farm tours before, and can truly say this tour is something special! It is one of the most beautiful farms I've been to, with stunning mountain views in all directions. Beyond learning the traditional farm-to-table process of coffee (and of course tasting!) you are invited with a warm welcome into the house of the farming family, enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal and fresh juice. Jota, our guide, told us all about the history of coffee in the region, and explains how coffee has become embedded into the culture and community of Jericó. After lunch, we took a short hike through a forest full of walnut trees and ending at the rainbow waterfall for a refreshing dip or, if you're brave, a swim in the natural pool. And of course, we ended the day by visiting a traditional bar where some of Jericó's history was literally written! If you're at Riverside or visiting Jericó and want a taste of its beautiful culture, nature, and people, definitely don't miss out on this experience!

      Worth Every Cent.
The tour was the icing on the cake in our travels to Jerico. From the first moment of contact until the moment of drop off at the end of an impression-saturated day, we felt in excellent, knowledgeable and experienced hands. The coffee farm attests to traditional coffee farming, and its location bears witness to human ingenuity, determination and perseverance. Perched on a hill only to be reached on foot, its location is stunningly beautiful and the family's welcome warm and heartfelt. We learned loads about the ins and outs of coffee farming, leaving us with more reverence for our daily cup from here on. Spending time in this rather remote gem of a place, nourished with delicious fresh juice, good coffee, traditional lunch and interesting conversation, felt both soul soothing and enriching. We then hiked on a rather steep nature path downwards to a beautiful waterfall, at all times guided expertly and safely by our guide Jorge, before making our way back up to the car and back towards Jerico. A fantastic experience, definitely recommend it. Thank you Jorge.

More than a coffee tour. An opportunity to learn from a wise man. If Elvis is your guide, your enjoyment will double.
Our driver and guide Elvis was amazing. His English was excellent and he went above and beyond to make the experience special. John, the owner of La Nohelia was extremely knowledgeable and in tune with nature and sustainability. He was also a wise and caring man. We didn’t want the experience to end. Of course, his coffee was the best we have tasted. He convinced us to taste the coffee with no cream or sugar to appreciate the smooth richness with no bitterness. I am not a coffee drinker but this experience might change my mind. We also were luckily enough to meet Elvis’ talented wife and charming children. If you are in Jericó don’t miss this tour. It was a highlight of our stay in wonderful Jericó.

I've stayed in a lot of hostels and this place is close to being one of the worst. Tiny rooms, unhelpful cleaning staff.. uncomfortable beds. Awful. Double room is the barely big enough for a double bed and right next to the reception. Noticeboard is right next to the window so anybody stopping to discuss their plans will be doing it right outside your room. Reception phone calls may as well be held inside the room due to the thin walls. We booked 2 nights and left after 1.. found a better place (not that difficult) but required access to our room to pick up some clothes we accidentally left in the room. We were told it was occupied and they could enter to have a look around... this was early morning in to the second morning we would have been there. The volunteer staff tried very little to resolve the situation and the owner was only available over the phone. We were told a pack of lies as to why we couldn't speak with them. This place is a shocker. Avoid.

      The best and only
All bikes are working well and they're perfect for the different terrain around Jerico! No issues with the bikes and the staff are really helpful with little adjustments that you may need.

What we came to Jericó to experience.
After doing extensive research on Colombia we narrowed down our trip to 5 or so places. One of them was Jericó and I’m so SO glad we did. Part of the reason we chose Jericó was for this Coffee and Rainbow tour. I don’t drink or care for coffee, but it doesn’t matter on this tour. This tour is about seeing a place you can hardly imagine exists, let alone is a small production coffee farm owned and operated by a small, humble, generous family. This is a treat. This is the unexpected magic that (to me) travel is all about. I don’t want to say too much so that you can be surprised and delighted! I will say you’re in great hands and that your precious time will be well spent enjoying breathtaking views, basking in the spray of a private waterfall, and getting in touch with the magnificence of Colombia.

Rented a bicycle for a day trip to Pueblorrico and was more than happy with the service I received. Las Cometas Hostel provided me with directional maps which was a huge help on how to make effective use of my time. The ride was challenging but refreshing. A great way to spend the day experiencing the area!

A refreshing way to see Jericó!
During my stay in Jericó I was recommended discovering the beautiful nature of this place using the bike rental service and I must say it was really worth it! Bicycles are in very good condition and perfect to master all the downhills nearby. I went to visit coffee farms and had a refreshing jump in the Rio Piedras. I also made my way to get to the nearby village of Pueblorrico. I would highly recommend using the bike rental service as the bicycles are very good quality, they let you reach many places in a short amount of time and they allow you to do some exercise surrounded by the wonderful landescape of this region.

First but definitely not last coffee tour!
The walk to the coffee farm was really exciting, the Finca is placed on the top of a hill and is surrounded by coffee plants. The family welcomed us very warmly and served us cold juice. We had lots of opportunity’s to do things on our self.. for example, picking beans, washing them and drying them. The nice farmer and the funny groupleader always had some interesting background information for us. I really enjoyed my time up there, especially the traditional food(wich you also can get as a vegetarian variation) and the nice views we had in every direction. It’s not touristic at all, you have a waterfall for your own (I would recommend to take your swimsuits with you) I would definitely do it again but don’t forget moscito protection!

      Amazing coffee tour in Jericó
We had a really great time on the coffee tour in Jericó. A nice Aussie took us up at the hostel and we drove for one hour to the coffee Plantage which is really at the end of the world, but definitely not the normal touristic place, you will find for example in Salento. We were very friendly welcomed by the family and enjoyed the amazing view on the river and the whole coffee zone of Colombia. You will see the whole diversity of the nature, which is really breathtaking. After a great lunch, which will be traditionally be prepared of the family we discovered the coffee plants and also were able to pick up our own one, you will realise after a view minutes how hard the work for the farmers is. After that we were able to see the process from the picked bean to the roasted bean, which you can by in the supermarket. The farm is a real traditional farm, nearly everything is done just with manpower. After finally drinking some coffee, we made our way to the waterfall, which is absolutely beautiful and untouched. We spended about 5 hours at the coffee farm, but you will enjoy every minute of the trip, espacially it's not the typical kind of tourist trip.

      Gateway to exploring Jericó!
Las Cometas Hostel was exactly the place I was looking for during my stay in Jericó. The hostel is easily reachable on foot since it is within a few minutes from where all the buses stop; close to the church and the plaza. The hostel has comfortable common areas and hammocks to chill and share a drink with other travellers. Very welcoming staff, they recommended all the activities to do in the village and explained how to get to various attractions such as Chorros del Quebradona and an exciting bike ride to Pueblorrico. I was very satisfied during my time nere!

I loved going Horse-Riding. We did the 2 hour ride. We got picked up in a tuk tuk from Las Cometas Hostel and taken to the farm with the horses. The guide showed us how to control the horses then we hopped on and started riding. We rode through the colourful town then beyond through woods until we reached a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. The guide stopped to show us different flowers and fruits. Then we headed back to the farm. The horses were calm and clearly trained for people to ride them. It was an awesome experience.
