Nice piece of American History to review.
Well preserved piece of History which introduced additional facts about the Todd and Lincoln families that (unless you studied this history) wouldn't have been revealed.

Make the stop

Neat little house with plenty of history. Keep in mind going in this about Mary Todd, although there is plenty of Abe too. Masks required and clean, safe environment. Worth the stop.

Great Self Guided Tour
Great tour! There are hosts there to answer your questions and they give you a little initial background of the house. We were there for about an hour total and that included the garden in the courtyard. There’s an additional mile long walking tour they have a brochure on but we didn’t do it because we were pressed for time. You learn about the Todd family and the home where Mary spent her teen years. It’s worth the stop if you’re in the area and want something simple to do. Today is a beautiful day but it’s also good for rainy days.

I Would Pass
Aug 2021
This home was occupied for several years by Mary Todd and is therefore of limited historical interest. Unfortunately, while the admission was not expensive, the experience was still not worth the price. No historical tour and very little to see. The Clay Estate, Ashland, was much more edifying.

The tour
Jul 2021
The had switched to a self guided tour and only allowed 15 in at a time. We came early on a week day and paid for the tickets at the door. You can also order tickets online and that is probably the best way to do it since you could be kept out by the rules. The house was bigger then I expected and had some interesting things that I didn't know about the Lincolns.

Mary Todd Lincoln’s House
We thoroughly enjoyed the museum. It was very interesting, the staff was extremely well informed and friendly, and we learned a lot about Mary Todd Lincoln. Seeing how the house was restored and filled with authentic items was very impressive. This is a great tour that you can do in under an hour. Well worth it if you are visiting downtown Lexington!

Interesting, but not impressive
Jul 2021
This was a decent tour, but don't have high expectations. The house has been renovated well, and it has interesting history but much of the pieces inside are from the general period and not specific to the Todds. There are some pieces that give you a glimpse into her life in the White House, which I enjoyed.

Disappointing
Somewhat disappointing. You walk through & read some information that is interesting but there wasn’t that much & not very much that was actually theirs. Furniture wise. There was a barrel desk that was Robert Todds but most of the rest was “representative of that time frame”. It took maybe 20 minutes to walk through. $16 per adult was way too expensive for that tour.

A slice of history that's worth checking out
Jun 2021
Turns out Mary had a really hectic life!! Glad we got to learn about her and enjoy this piece of restored history!!

The self-guided tour took us exactly one hour; we bought tickets online the morning of and parking is, like the website says, on-site but the initial street look like a narrow alley.

The tour is set up with photographs, era-relevant items, and some belongings of the original family. There are easy-to-read placards throughout the home and employees are nearby to answer questions if they arise. Several did, for us, and they were answered without issue.

Personally, I really enjoyed the format of this tour. It's self-paced with an hour of allotted time. Again, we happened to take the entire hour, but we really enjoyed our time here. Looking at all the doodads and trinkets and wallart was a good time. The garden is also lovely.

Young children would probably find this a bore. From what I recall, the house/tour is not wheelchair accessible on even the first level. I believe there were multiple steps at both entrances.
