About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 328dianet0 contributionsGreat tour for enjoying local food! Our guide was Bill. He set the perfect pace for the tour with just the right amount of time to enjoy the food before moving to the next location. All the food was delicious! Bill also talked about the history of Rockland which was interesting and informative. My favorites were Fiori and the chocolate factory. I don’t think we would have found all the food restaurants/stores on our own so the tour was a good choice for us.Written 1 December 2024

- 509patsys0 contributionsLoved this introduction to Portland ME and their awesome seafood! We spent one week traveling along the coast of Maine for the first time. We decided to do this Seafood Lovers Walking Tour to get an overview of Portland and because we LOVE Seafood! The weather was perfect! I was a bit concerned about how far we would walk but it was only about 3/4 to 1 mile. We had a haddock taco at the first stop. Never had haddock or a fish taco before but it was delish! Then we went for NE Clam Chowder! It was a bit cool outside so it was a perfect day for Chowder. I can tell you we all agreed it was the best we have ever had. Thanks so much! Then we went to the next stop for a lobster roll. We were already borderline satisfied, until I tried the lobster. Best ever, so melt in your mouth. Ate all the lobster and left the roll! We really enjoyed the root beer also. This was made in house as well. We finished up at a Chocolatier. Everything was perfect and we are so pleased that we decided to take this tour. Next trip we will come back and stay a week in Portland.Written 30 October 2024
- 17katharinef0 contributionsIt's a non-negotiableAJ our guide was so knowledgeable and of our offerings and history of the area. It was a wonderful way to explore the city and immerse ourselves into the Portland food scene. I highly recommend.Written 29 October 2024

- _peircemr0 contributionsExcellent historical tour! The historic walking tour of Kennebunkport was amazing! Our guide Pete was very knowledgeable, and he gave a very thorough historical account of the industry, major figures and architecture from early days. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone interested in the history of shipbuilding and early New England life.Written 16 October 2024
- AmyB9210 contributionsShort on food and disorganizedWe booked this tour hoping to sample some of the famous seafood Portland is known for. We left hungry and disappointed. This lengthy tour only included stops at 3 restaurants plus a fundraiser concessions stand. The food at these stops were 1 fish taco, 1 lobster roll, 1 small cup of chowder and a donut from the concession stand. Many other foods like muscles, scallops and Portland’s famous Holy donuts were discussed, but we never actually got to eat any of them. (And isn’t that the point of a food tour?) AJ was our guide and the tour started late, went long and too much time was spent at each of the stops. Everything seemed thrown together on the fly and not well organized. The most disappointing thing though was the lack of food. Overall, not worth the time and especially not the money.Written 12 October 2024
- pauldS5553XR0 contributionsA Wonderful Walk through Historic KennebunkportThis tour highlights the history and architecture of many of the beautiful homes in Kennebunkport, a good number of which were built before 1800. We were able to go inside a couple of ship captain's homes that are now inns. Beth, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable, informative, interesting, and friendly. I highly recommend the tour.Written 10 October 2024
- nancydX5607KX0 contributionsGreat walking tourOur guide was great! She was very knowledgeable and went at a nice pace. We really enjoyed seeing the historical buildings and learning the history of Kennebunkport.Written 8 October 2024

It was a dreary, rainy day, the other people cancelled but we still wanted to go and so happy we did! Peter was charming, well versed on Kennebunk history and fun facts. Highly recommend.Written 8 October 2024

Our tour guide Cynthia was great! She was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the places we went! She taught us some great info! We were on the tour with only 1 other couple, so it was very intimate and we had a nice time enjoying the weather, food, and drinks together. if I had to give some constructive criticism it would be that we hardly had any food. The tour says "foodie tour" and all we got was a lobster roll and a clam chowder. (in addition to the mini whoopie pie and macaron) We expected to have a lot more food than we did, so that was a bit of a let down. They took us to sample mead, beer and coffee also, which was nice, but our expectations were to really experience the food of the area.

Beth did a great job as our tour guide! All of the food was wonderful! We were able to enjoy smoothies, fried shrimp, a lobster roll, beer, blueberry soda, clam chowder, macarons, and tea on our tour. We learned a lot about lobstering and beer making. We also were able to enjoy the beautiful outdoor weather with outdoor seating. It was a great morning!

Lobster roll at the Clam shack was a highlight! All the food and information was great! I even got my opinion changed on mead, it was really good! Beth did a really good job. She did not tell us until it was over it was only her 2nd tour. Everyone in the group had been on other tours before and had no idea. Good job Beth!

Limited selection. We just ate at touristy restaurants. I expected a deeper food experience - “lobster fresh off the boat.” The lobster in my lobster roll was frigid - just from the fridge- and the lobster bisque on top was not warm. The clam chowder was not special at all - just tasted like pepper. We opened drinking a smoothie which says a lot. It was not worth the money.

Mike was an awesome guide! We loved the background on the lobster industry in Maine followed by the Lobster Roll tasting at The Clam Shack followed by the local beer tasting at Kennebunkport Brewing Company. There were many more stops on the tour and you will definitely have your fill of food and drink. I had to take my whoopie pie to go. I highly recommend this tour!

Hi - I love seafood but my husband does eat shellfish - will he have options on your?
Written 13 September 2019
Does this tour include a history component, how many restaurants are visited and what type of cuisine? Are there options for nonseafood eaters. Group of 5 and 3 do not eat seafood.
