Our driver was very nice and polite. He gave us 15 mins extra at the Canyon, which was great. And the views are just amazing at the South Rim.

But the staff at the main office were very condescending. We were seated on the upper deck of the bus and the sound system was defective, plus the screens were not working on our side. Driver said he would report the snag.
So eventually it turned out to be a long day just sitting in the bus, with no audible comments, and no entertainment. 4hours plus just sitting, and same on the way back, makes your day very boring. (For info, bus number was 8140).

We had a lunch stop of 1 hour 20 mins! Too long for such a long day, but this is to accommodate for those going for the IMAX movie. So we just had to wait in the meantime. Again, boring and waste of time.

And finally, after a long day of mainly sitting in the bus, the driver decided to drop us off at Excalibur Hotel, from there we would get another bus to drop us off at our respective hotels. We were staying in Caesar’s Palace, which is only minutes away. We got at Excalibur at 9.30pm and got dropped off at 10.40pm at Caesar’s!! At least they could have had the decency to tell us it would take so long and that Caesar would be last on the list. We could have taken a taxi instead.

So overall disappointing, I don’t see why it’s not better to take a car and drive there instead of going with them.

Only the views made our day.

Dear SheikAssad, I want to thank you for being a Gray Line customer and taking the time to post a review. We are sorry that on this tour we seemed to have missed your expectations and I particularly want to apologize for the issue with the tour narration system. We are the only sightseeing company to offer the narration in 5 languages, which is almost always great, unless the system goes down and we are very sorry this impacted your day. On behalf of everyone at Gray Line around the world, I want you to know that we are all hoping you give us another opportunity to show you how well our tours normally run and with 4500 experiences spread over 6 continents, we have great adventures waiting for you- wherever in the world your travels may take you. Regards, Zachary

I gave this an avg score because I felt like for the price of this package it would have been a bit more organized. I liked the small group, however I felt like the driver was a bit overwhelmed. Her tablet would not hold a charge - causing her to constantly be on the phone to check in with dispatch. I did not like the fact that she was on the phone while driving. For the mid morning stop and the dinner stop - I think it would be nice to have had a choice in where we would have wanted to eat. We stopped at McDonald's on the way up and In&Out on the way back - I personally don't like having to eat a burger and fries twice a day. I think Subway would have been a better option. As far the the tour at Grand Canyon - that was worth every penny!

I have always wanted to see the Grand Canyon and over the years, food poisoning and closed roads seem to have put a jinx on my trip. This year for my 65th Birthday in Vegas the number one thing was to go. We booked with Grey line at our hotel and was told to be outside at 5:45 am. We were outside and waited and waited. We called their number numerous times and was told the driver was only a few minutes away. After an hour waiting he finally came, did not drive up to the hotel but blew the horn at us and we had to go to the street. When I mentioned that we were waiting for an hour instead of just saying "I'm sorry" he started yelling at me and saying it wasn't his fault. My husband said we are paying and shouldn't be yelled at. That made the driver even angrier. After his last pick up, he shut the door and stood up and started yelling at us..that he gets up at 4 am showers, puts on Versace so he will smell good for us. He pointed at one couple and yelled at them for stopping to take pictures and a few other for being late. It wasn't his fault that he was late the company doesn't want him to leave anyone, he shouted. But added when I blow the horn I will leave you if you aren't there in 2 minutes. He was 73 years old and didn't need this...this was a courtesy bus and if we didn't like it we should have taken an Uber. I looked at my husband and I said are we going to the Grand Canyon with this madman? Luckily he was only the"courtesy" driver. We upgraded to the VIP tour..they give you free breakfast, but by the time we got there they said we didn't have time to eat, take it on the bus. Also when we told them about the nutty driver they gave us grey line money for food, but there was no time to use it. We had a very nice driver named Jeff, a great guide and a wonderful person. The day is very long and grueling. I would recommend paying extra and flying there. The reason we booked with them is because our son is in the Navy and got leave at the last minute. The morning of the trip he woke up sick. I'm not sure who refunded his fee the hotel or Grey Line for that I say thank you. Also the only stops for food included a MacDonald's and In and Out Burger, many of us are vegetarians or on a restricted diet so I think they should reconsider where they stop. Btw the Grand Canyon is spectacular.

While getting there and seeing the Grand Canyon was nice coming back was a trip and not in a good way. The air conditioning broke and it was 120 outside. Once we arrived back on the strip. Our driver Tony announced he was done and wouldn't take us back to where we were picked up at the Golden Nugget.

A promised $20.00 never happened from Greyline. Save your $$$.

Dear tonylL8000VJ, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and please accept our apologies for the faulty air conditioning and the issue with our driver Tony. When you operate in the extreme temperatures of the American Southwest the long hot summers can take their toll on equipment and we are sorry this affected your trip. Also, please email our office regarding the $ 20 if you have not already received it. I also want to wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. Regards, Michael

Very irresponsible company that did not follow posted tour information. Driver outright said we didn't have time to stop at the Hoover Dam even though it was advertised to go on the way.

Drivers do not have customers' cell phone numbers to track them down when late. They didn't communicate with the helicopter company and cancelled on that customer after stopping there to drop them off, when they should have been told the weather wasn't ideal before bringing the whole bus there for nothing.

The most influential part of my rating though, is that they have poor communication with customers. I gave them my hotel information ahead of time and they confirmed by email the address and location and time. Then they sent another confirmation email again saying that they would pick me up from my hotel. The morning of I rush to get ready, and no shuttle ever came. I had to call the company every 20 minutes and continually was told that he was just around the corner after the operator confirmed my address. Finally an hour after I was supposed to be picked up, they told me that they were at the wrong hotel and would pay for my taxi because it would take the driver too long to get back to me. They paid for most of my taxi but told me that they couldn't round to the nearest dollar and I had to pay some of it. Fine.

The kicker is that at the end of the tour when we were supposed to be dropped back off at our hotels, and I had been guaranteed I would get back to my hotel at the end of the night multiple times, the driver cause a scene in front of the whole bus by telling me that there is no way that I was told that I would be dropped off, and that I'd have to find my own ride back and he told me to get off the bus. I am a young woman traveling alone, and they couldn't drive an extra 10 minutes to fulfill their promise to get my to safety, or at the very least, pay my return taxi as well.

Very disappointed that the driver engaged in phone calls three times while driving.

At least two of them were to his office or dispatcher. Not good Gray Line.

In this day and age that practice is strictly forbidden, especially in a bus load of passengers.

Dec 2017 • Friends
I've never written a review to complain but I am now. We got picked up and brought to this depot, which is fine however the problems didn't start until we almost arrived in at the Canyon. A girl got sick on the bus (not her fault, she got motion sick) however the driver did not stop, dispute all of us calling for him to do so. Luckily we were on the Pink Jeep Tour then so we disembarked the bus. However we were talking to people on the way back and they said they only went to 2 places of the 3 points of the Canyon. We stopped on the way home at this dirty gas station and all that was available was Subway, which makes me sick (and my friends too), so we didn't eat.
Once we arrived back to Vegas it got WORSE from there. They had to drop everyone home, but when we were picked up we had been on a number of buses. Not this time. This time we all stayed on the one bus, approx 50 people. And we did a tour of Las Vegas. Not one I, or anyone else wanted. We were staying the Westgate but we had to start at the top of the Strip, and then go to EVERY hotel on it. I gave up and got off and took the Monorail back to the hotel, my friends didn't and it took them over two hours to get back to the hotel. Totally disgraceful. We were not told about this at all, nor was there an apology. My friend called to complain the next day, as did 4 other people according to the woman on the phone and there has been no communication back to us since, (15th December 17).

Dear GeorgiaMay2017, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and providing us with feedback. Because of your post we will be reviewing, with all of our drivers, the best practices that need to be used when a passenger feels ill on any of our tours, so once again..thank you. Regarding the snack stop on the return. When you are traveling with a coach through the mostly uninhabited American Southwest, places you can stop with adequate restrooms, snacks and fuel happen to be few and far between. While a Subway may not be everyone's first choice, it does however meet the criteria required. This Subway is normally well maintained and we will be looking into your statements that on your tour date is was not. At Gray Line we do offer a complimentary hotel pickup and dropoff service. This is not actually part of the tour and as anyone can imagine this does take a bit of time- something that can be compounded during the holiday period by unusually heavy traffic in the tourist corridors of Las Vegas. We apologize if you did not find this complimentary service to be enjoyable. Finally, we do want to wish you a great 2018 and well wishes for all of your future travel adventures. Sincerely, Ed

The Grand Canyon was amazing...

BUT! We paid $200 for an upgrade to the vip package with a smaller group and tour guide. The tour guide was awful, he was only interested telling us how the cars were parked or how it was snowing the week before than anything about the canyon. I tried to listen to the audio tour and block our guide out.

The trip was long and exhausting but that’s what we expected as the south rim was very far away.

However I was extremely concerned when we stopped on the interstate in the pitch black to see the hoover dam. We were told to get out of the minivan to take pictures in the dark with oncoming traffic...unbelievable!

We upgraded to the vip tour and my advice is don’t bother.

Dear peter1keeley, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and posting about your tour. At Gray Line we believe our number 1 priority is the safety of our guests, so we were a bit dismayed by your comments regarding the highway stop to look at the Hoover Dam. This is NOT an approved procedure and we will be contacting you via the TripAdvisor mail system, so that we can identify the driver and take immediate corrective actions. Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention. Sincerely, Zachary

Best Tour! We have had a few tours in America but this was by far the best. We had the Grand Canyon South Rim Tour Limo Van with Tyler. He went above and beyond the whole day and made our day extra special. The tour was already good but Tyler made it excellent and much more personal.
Will be recommending this tour to others in the future for sure! But definitely try and ask for Tyler 👌🏼
