About the operator

- HELEN T0 contributionsFabulous TourWhat a fabulous way to do a wine tour. We had a lovely bike ride between 3 vineyards. One tasting included either chocolate, billtong or Turkish delight. Was a leisurely ride and a great way to see Franschhoek too with stops along the way and information given by our guide. We had a total of 11 different wines to taste. Would definitely recommend.Written 28 November 2024
- emmmawat0 contributionsAmazing tour !The tour was very well run/organised and the guide (Kyle) was great! We learnt loads about the local area as well as the wineries too. The picnic lunch was amazing and all the vineyards and tastings were perfect! Could not speak more highly about this trip, well worth every penny and will be telling people about it for years to come!Written 7 March 2024
- David C0 contributionsGreat way to see the area and enjoy some great wines.Carlo was a great guide and we had a lovely day seeing some of the wonderful scenery around the area which you would miss in a car or on the wine tram.Written 24 February 2024
- JoanneB24770 contributionsOne of the best ways to see the Vineyards! Not to mention the amazing knowledgeable guide! Top marksAbsolutely fantastic experience! A bit of a stressful start as the pin on maps didn’t take us to the meeting place but luckily we made it on time. Eon our guide was exceptional… we loved all the information he gave us along the way including explanations about the colours of the South African flag that he just happened to bring with him in his rucksack! The tour was planned perfectly with most of the riding done at the start and then just shortish transfers between the vineyards.. which was appreciated as it was so hot! The tastings were amazing and time spent at each was perfect. Eon so kindly dropped us back at our hotel afterwards too! An amazing day with the best guide ever! I’d definitely recommend this tourWritten 19 February 2024
- wowgaborka0 contributionsHappy dayGreat fun and for us the best way to explore the winelands. Big thanks to both our guide Carlo and our driver Yaseen, who picked us up on time and also remained stand-bye, as it was pouring rain, but our small group decided to bike anyway. Carlo is great and very knowledgeable about the history of the region as well as the wines. He also made sure we could warm up at the fire at each stop. Really good mix of wineries, my personal fav. is La Brie and it's Syrah. Bikes were fine too, easy ride, all in all highly recommended.Written 14 October 2023
- Eric Bastiaan B0 contributionsExcellentGreat guide, friendly and informative, really cool track across all Franschhoek wineries including tasting and bites at two very famous wineries.Written 1 August 2023
- Tour8295450 contributionsFabulous dayA fabulous way to tour the winelands. Our guide Abi was fantastic - enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We could not rate the day more highly! Five star treatment at each of the vineyards and the picnic at Mont Rochelle was delicious.Written 4 April 2023
- 243shaunj0 contributionsGreat Day out… E Bikes invaluable!Had a great day out with the fantastic Abi as our guide. E bikes good quality. Choice of Vineyards amazing. But what made this trip great was Abi the guide. What a great bloke. Knowledgeable, engaging, funny. He knew loads of the staff in the wineries which meant extra attention for us! Four great and very different wineries .. about 14/16 wines… we were glad the cycling got shorter as the day went on!Written 13 February 2023
- Gbonwitt0 contributionsBeautiful scenery with good wineWhat a wonderful experience between drinking wine and the beautiful scenery. Bike riding was easyֶ. Guides were great. Really helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.Written 23 December 2022
- Tfjyst0 contributionsBiking Franschhoek Vineyards 5 Stars ⭐️Fantastic tour of Franschhoek vineyards with e-bikes. Family of five adults we did the luxury tour with Lee. So happy we opted to cycle the route rather than taking the wine tram. Lee was a perfect guide gave us loads of insight and info about Franschhoek and it’s wine history. The 4 Vineyards are well chosen all having very different vibes. Well worth the extra cost doing the luxury tour which included delicious picnic baskets which we enjoyed in the sunshine by a lake. Booking system and contact with Bikes & Wine extremely easy. Bikes were excellent. Highly recommend 👍Written 16 September 2022
- Charles D0 contributionsGreat way to see the town and vineyardsA very relaxing and informative ride. Can go as fast or slow as you like with many stops on the way to discuss town history and, of course, sample wines. Particularly recommended is the pairing menu at La Bri. Thanks to Lee (Sp?) for putting up with us!Written 7 August 2022
- Melissa M0 contributionsWonderful day tripOur family had a great day on the bike tour of Franschhoek. We enjoyed the scenery and short bike rides between wineries. Abi and his crew were very helpful and informative and even shared some South African history. The wine was delicious and we enjoyed a leisurely lunch at one vineyard. Great way to spend the day!Written 31 July 2022
- Frans26770 contributionsA nice bike and wine in Franshoek !We took the tour on Thursday 14th April it was excellent the tour the guides and the pic nic, everything ! Thanks a lot for this experience :-)Written 17 April 2022
- trippingferret0 contributionsThe best way to see the Franschhoek ValleyWe are so glad we opted to take this bike tour round the wineries of lovely Franschhoek. The guiding and equipment are first class, and the leisurely way of travelling (in our case in a small group of 4) means you really see the inside of the valley. Nothing too strenuous, but at a pace that lets you breathe the air, enjoy the scenery and get away from the roads. The four stops (and 4 is enough!) are well-selected. The first, at Rickety Bridge, is close to the start (so a chance to make sure the bikes are ok - mine had a slight issue and was quickly replaced - top service!) and the wine at this estate is very good indeed. Next on the gravel out to La Bri, one of the oldest in the valley, and with a wonderful view from the tasting balcony. Good combo of reds and biltong (or chocolate!). Next on to Mont Rochelle for more wines and the most incredible lunch basket that totally exceeded all expectations. The final stop was at Grande Provence, with its stunning sculpture collection and MCC with oysters in the shade. A perfect way to end. All in all, a superb day out. We will be telling all our friends to give the crowded tram a miss and do the Franschhoek valley in the environmentally friendly way! Totally recommended!Written 12 March 2022
- guypD5732SH0 contributionsFranschhoek meanderWe had a great day guided by Abi. He was excellent. The cycling was easy and very relaxing and the visits to the wineries were great. It’s a much much better way to experience Franschhoek than by vehicle in my opinion. I would definitely recommend this tour.Written 24 February 2022

We took off with our guide Keenan on a chilly May morning. Keenan stopped regularly to give us information on sights we passed through during the morning. Our first winery stop was at La Bri where we had wine pairings with chocolate. The lady there was very friendly and obviously very knowledgeable. The second stop at Rickety Bridge was very busy but they were friendly enough. We cycled past a few very fancy wine estates and saw parts of Franschhoek we wouldn't otherwise have seen. A good cycle tour.

Luckily the best weather of our entire week in the Cape Town area was the day we drove to Franschoek for our bike tour! We arrived at the meeting point to find Albi had our bikes and snacks ready to go. Stunning scenery and easy riding through a few wine estates, including an extended stop with the most amazing cheese platter made for a great way to see the area. Albi was very entertaining and knowledgable about the area. A real highlight talking with him about his experiences living in South Africa. Highly recommend visiting Franschoek and joining a Bikes 'N Wines tour.
