- Destination5693220 contributionsLovely day out, chilling and seeing some local villagesLovely day out, chilling and seeing some local villages. This a bit out of town and on dirt road but worth the trip if you are looking to have an easy day in between safari and Kilimanjaro. We booked our trip last minute and it was fantastic dealing with Augustino and our driver. We ended booking with them the following days for another tour and our airport transfer. Good communication and very nice to deal with. They drove us around town as well, the markets and helped us moving hotels. Highly recommend KLM safarisWritten 5 November 2024
- Destination5693220 contributionsBeautiful day out and experience local foodFantastic day out with our guide Augustino. Nice walk, beautiful views, authentic feel of the area and delicious food. We booked this tour after meeting Augustino in a prior tour (hot springs) and he was fantastic. Very pleasant, lots of knowledge and we got to try some local fruits from the area, on top of our planned traditional lunch. Highly recommended!Written 5 November 2024
- corbinv9950 contributionsHighly Recommend KLM Safaris - A Memorable and Sustainable ExperienceMy partner and I had a fantastic time with KLM Safaris on the Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Tour. Our guide, Frank, was outstanding—his deep knowledge of the land and sustainability, thanks to his background in geography and the environment, really stood out. Frank’s English was excellent, and he was kind and patient, never rushing us. KLM Safaris’ commitment to sustainability was impressive, making the experience even more rewarding. For a tour that blends natural beauty with responsible practices, I highly recommend KLM Safaris. A big thanks to Frank and the team for an unforgettable day!Written 29 August 2024
- 1TravelerAdventure0 contributionsEnjoyable detour to the materuni villageDetour to materuni village makes a memory, starts from Moshi town heading to the village. Meet chagga culture, banana and coffee plantation when locally prepared and the taste was wonderful. Local food and local beer the dance. At waterfalls it's a beautiful place to relax ans swim, that expirience ........Written 25 August 2024
- Matt W0 contributionsConsider other optionsThe walk to the waterfalls was not that interesting. The waterfall itself was not amazing and if you've seen any number of waterfalls you won't be that impressed by it. The process of roasting and grinding coffee and lunch at a small village was interesting, however we felt the entire trip was designed to extract as much money as possible in the way of constant tips at every corner or discussion had with any local. Am on the fence whether the tour was enjoyable or not.Written 20 August 2024
- jpowers110 contributionsThis is the tour you want!Such a fun and rewarding experience! Loved it from start to finish. Our guide was patient with us as we hiked to the waterfall, explaining about the tribe and village along the way. The coffee experience was by far my favorite though. Processing our own cup of coffee from the bean to cup was aaaammmaazing. And the sweet men and women of the village were so endearing as they cheered us on with their songs. The lunch was surprisingly tasty and filling with a good variety. You can buy some coffee, honey, or banana beer and other souveniers to support the village, which I highly recommend! Don't miss this tour! ALSO, i have compared similar tours and KLM seemed to offer the best value for money so I advise you book with them. Cheers and enjoy Tanzania!!Written 2 August 2024

- jambor9990 contributionsGreat experience with AgostinoWe had a great experience going to Materuni village and walking in town. A cool adventure getting to the waterfall which was amazing. And one of the highlights: the ‘coffee party’ with the local family. That was a blast. Thanks to our great tour guide Agustino for giving us a great experience.Written 10 July 2024

Fantastic guides talking through park history, very knowledgeable about animals and best locations to view, constant communication with other guides to ensure best trip. Knowledge of local Plant life and medicinal uses for local tribes. And absolutely delightful way to spend tow days. Their recommendation for hotel was The Green Parrot at Mto wa Mbu which was a beautiful well maintained place and not a mosquito in site.Written 16 June 2024
