In half a day, you can experience some of the key highlights of Zanzabari culture, life and cuisine with the Kidichi Kitchen Experience.
A visit to the local fish market just outside of Stone Town is a memorable way to start the day, where you haggle for whatever the catch of the day happens to be; this is followed by a tour of the farm and its exotic offerings.
You're introduced to the basics of food preparation for fresh juices and local dishes, and as the food is cooking, you take a tour of the spices grown right there on the premises, before sitting down to a sumptuous meal.
The Kidichi Kitchen team are professional, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable and you'll come away feeling as though you have just shared a meal with good friends in their family home.

The guide picked us up and we drove to a place at the beach 11 km north from Stone town, where fishermen offer their fresh catches to a fish auction. There, our guide bought the fish for lunch. Then we went by car to the Kidichi Kitchen, where we could help preparing the ingredients for lunch together with very friendly cooks. While the meal was getting ready, our guide took us to the spice farm and explained us all the different plants like cinnemon, nutmeg, lipstick fruit, maniok, and a lot more. He also explained us the medical use of the plants. Our guide has a very profound knowledge of the plants and knew every answer to our questions. The staff is very friendly and has a good humour. We had a great time together! Thank you very much for this nice day!

My friends and I spent nearly a month traveling around Tanzania, both mainland and on Zanzibar. The Kidichi Kitchen Experience was by far one of the best things we did the entire time we were there. Their whole team is very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about local cuisine. It was fun going to the local fish market and seeing what local life is like. Their spice farm was full of different spices which they told us all about and were eager to answer questions on. The cooking area where we prepared the food was very clean and well maintained. This experience is definitely worth it! Certainly a great way to spend an extra day in Stone Town.

The Kidichi Kitchen Experience was an amazing experience led by a wonderful guide and team! They were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful in all aspects! We went to a local fish market to gain insight into the fishing trade and local life which was great. We then did a tour of the spice farm led by an amazing guide. Lastly, we cooked lunch using fresh spices, fish that we bought and produce around the farm in a clean and spacious cooking area. If you want to do a spice farm trip while in Stone Town, please book with Kidichi Kitchen Experience!

This was an awesome tour that brought us to a traditional fish market, walked us through a spice farm, and then brought us back to a pavilion to cook what we saw/harvested together. The guides were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all the different fruits, vegetables, spices, and fish that we had, and they explained traditional medicinal uses, cultivation, and preparation for everything. This tour combined several experiences that I saw marketed as separate tours during our stay in Stonetown, and on top of that it was a all-around fun day. Would highly recommend.

It's a nice experience we get to know how Zanzibar people are living how they cook and everything. The trip started at Ngalawa where we bought fish for our cooking experience than head to the farm where we havest what we are going to cook it was such a great experience than we were welcomed with love to the kitchen where we had a little talk and started cooking with the staff and management. The preparation was so lovely we enjoyed every thing we did the whole management was so cooperative when we were done cooking we end by eating what we cooked and that was the best moment the food was delicious .It's such a good place to go it's a trip of a whole day but I promise it's a place which you won't regret to go each experience was lovely and memorable.

You go to a local fishmarket to buy the seafood you want to cook, walk around the farm to see the ingredients growing and in the end you bring everything together with some lovely people showing you how to cook traditional swahili in a very nice place surrounded by nature. I can just recommend this tour
