Highlight was her taking us to see young male humpback whale after she got a phone alert. She made sure we got fantastic photos and videos and her jot was so infectious. As expected, being out on the water, checking out all the caves & visiting cathedral cove was amazing; but what really stood out for me was the obvious passion and knowledge about the land ,water and culture of the area. NZ is an incredibly stunning & proud country & I have yet to meet locals who don't personify that; our guide Ash was no exception. Landscape was mindblowing. Crew was very friendly, also professional, told us a lot of informations about history and nature around. Cruise itself was exciting, funny, full of adrenalin. The boat is perfect to get up close providing great manoeuvrability and visibility and the ride was very comfortable. Booking was made direct with the company and dealt with very quickly. The driver and guide, Ash, was a delight and made sure all were comfortable and happy. His driving was immensely skilful, getting into caves that with swells looked impossible and yet with cms to spare he manoeuvred the boat safely in places where there was no light. The number of caves and variety was astonishing. We have come to NZ 15 times in 23 years and we have had so many boat trips, Ash's tour rates amongst the best we have ever had. Excellent value for money. Thank you Ash.

An exhilarating and educational afternoon trip in Ash’s capable hands was a highlight of our time in the Coromandel peninsula. Ash’s passion for this coastline and marine life shines through, as does his boat handling, taking us into caves to get photos up close and personal…

We booked into this tour and we are so glad we did. Prior to our tour date we received notification advising the weather would be too choppy and we would need to change our tour date and fortunately we had room to do this. Otherwise, they were offering a full refund. Ash could not have been more knowledgeable of everything on water, even the way he was driving the boat and across the waves was being a little more gentle on our bottoms. We saw so many sea caves and he kindly offered to take 2x girls who were climbing the rocks to hopefully see inside one of the caves. His response to this was “he would hate to get so close but not to be able to see inside it”. We enjoyed Cathedral Cove, the cliffs of where they shot for the Narnia films and we literally scraped in to see a blowhole which was reliant on access via the tide. We enjoyed our time with Ash and felt completely safe on this tour and would definitely recommend it. Thanks Ash.

A brilliant trip, under sold and over delivered. Ash was a brilliant narrator who told historical stories and factual information throughout the three hours. We were enthralled and amazed by the nature and geology we saw. The icing on the cake was seeing two orca at the end of the trip. We will never forget this adventure.

We were a group of 7 varying in ages from early 20’s to mid 70’s. We all enjoyed this experience, I would go as far as saying it was the best boat trip I have been on. Ash was brilliant , so friendly and knowledgeable about so many things, marine life, history of the area, volcanic activity were all things he covered, along with lots of other bits of information about the area.
We all felt that the experience was a very personal one that Ash adapts to cater for each individual group, and was so patient helping us oldies on and off the boat. We would highly recommend this trip to everyone.

This was a fabulous rib trip! We were so fortunate, everything was great! Ash is a wonderful guide and skipper with so much local knowledge. He is a great communicator, and his character and obvious love for what he does came across throughout the trip.
The rib itself is a perfect size for accessing the caves also making trip feel more personal than would be the case on larger boat.
The coast that you get to see on this trip is beautiful and very memorable.
This trip was the perfect ending for our short stay in Whitinga. Highly recommended.

This tour was fantastic. Great scenery combined with a very skilled boat captain made for a great experience. The boat captain also knew lots of fun history of the area and was very friendly.

There are a number of operators taking guests to view the Cathedral Caves. 'Sea Cave Adventures' offers a more personal and intimate tour as the boat only seats 10. As such you get a 360 degree opportunity for pix and the skipper will adjust the boat in order for you to just get 'that shot'. Speaking of the skipper, he's friendly, fun loving and out to ensure you get the best of the tour.
The caves, water and fish were stunning - even on an overcast day.
A must do while in Whitianga, particularly in that for the present, the walking track at Cathedral Caves is closed (due to the Feb 2023 cyclone).

Ash was a great guide! Very knowledgeable about the history of the area and an excellent sea captain. He maneuvered us into many narrow sea caves and let us snorkel with some red snapper at the end of our trip.

Soooooooo good, this is a must do. Ash our tour guide so friendly and so knowledgeable. Extremely comfortable ride in the rib. Up close to the caves and the 8 am tour was stunning and allowed you to get places due to tides. Ash took us to places other tours can’t get to. This was a 10/10 experience. Thank you !
