About
Recently selected as one of the New World Wonders, Chichen Itza is without a doubt one of the most spectacular and important archeological sites of the Yucatan peninsula and Mesoamerica. The Maya-Toltec style; which can be appreciated in Chichen Itza is the result of the cultural exchange between the different cultures of Mesoamerica. The excellent restoration of this ancient city makes it an absolute “must-see” destination for any visitor to the Yucatan peninsula interested in history and culture. After visiting Chichen Itza we cool off in an impressive cenote (flooded cave) where nature and mysticism will bring you to a whole new dimension. Valladolid is a city where past and present come together to delight us with astounding sights of beautifully colored colonial architecture and tastes of an incredibly rich gastronomy. A visit to the main square of the town will absorb you in the peace and tranquility of its people while you learn about the local customs.

Definitely can’t miss this if in Tulum!
One of the best experience of my trip! From the start Luigi (guide) and Victor (driver) were amazing. They were enthusiastic about the day and had great knowledge of the Mayan Ruins and the Cenotes. Luigi catered to our every need and did everything he could to make sure we made the best memories. Also the lunch at the end was incredible. Definitely can’t miss this if in Tulum!

        Amazing!
Amazing experience! We visited 3 cenotes, starting with an open air cenote )complete with a crocodile sunning itself on a bank. Then on to a partially collapsed cenote which required snorkeling and went on for some distance. The 3rd cenote was on privately owned land and is still very much a cave. We were the only people there and since we had to both walk and swim (ducking under stalactites), it felt like the cave was being explored for the first time. Our guide Lea was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. Our driver Jonas, kept us on schedule and kept our belongings safe. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in Tulum.

Iber and Jesus + Trip = Best Time Ever
We genuinely had an amazing time on this trip. The team that helped make their reservation were really accommodating and communicative. They made it really easy to organize the meeting location and let us know when they were out front. Iber and Jesus picked us up right on time and even came with a car seat for our nine month old. They were so helpful and accommodating, making sure that we made any necessary stops along the way. The tour was really interesting and, beautiful. The ruins were incredible and Iber knew a lot about the history and geography of the area. Once we had lunch organized, we came back after the ruins to an incredible Mayan lunch. As a vegan, they had options and it was one of the best meals on the trip. From there, we were able to float down the river in the reserve. It was really easy to do with the baby and very enjoyable. The water was warm and the area was gorgeous. I would strongly recommend this adventure. I think the price is a little steep, but it was as great as it could be.

        An outstanding day!
We had a fabulous time. Our guide Carlos knew his stuff incredibly well. Very interesting - and he was a great guy. He also took care of transportation, tolls, lunch, lines, everything. On our own it would have been a very different experience.

        Amazing Tour
It was definitely worth it, Luigi did an excellent job explaining and making it enjoyable, the whole tour was amazing. Food, culture and nature what else can you ask for? I know what, a professional photographer lol…. Luigi was the best taking pictures for us, make different sides, angles and poses. Just awesome experience.

        Amazing tour! 10/10 would recommend
This tour exceeded expectations! Niko our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about both history and nature. Despite being a small ruin, the Muyil site still yielded great discussion and new information about the Maya. Nice and satisfying lunch at a local restaurant. Short boat ride and lazy river was the most relaxing thing I've done in a while, especially in such a beautiful and peaceful place. We saw some local plants, birds, and even a baby crocodile! Would recommend for visitors of all ages. It was fantastic.

        Party in Paradise
Our tour guides Pablo, Jessi and Jonas made the trip a party! They were having so much fun with the group that it made the trip to the boats feel short. They taught us all about the bio systems and worked very hard to find the turtles, dolphins, alligator, manatee and amazing birds. It was an absolute day in paradise!

        A wonderful day out
We highly recommend this tour. Luigi, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly and we learnt a lot about the city of Chichen Itsa in an interesting and informative way. We then had a lovely meal at a restaurant in Valladolid and were able to look around the picturesque town. In the afternoon we visited a beautiful cenote which was a refreshing way to end our day. The water is crystal clear and not overcrowded. Luigi provided us with plenty of purified water to drink during the day and bananas and cookies to eat in the car on the way there. Chichen Itsa is a very hot location so wear sunscreen and bug repellent with a sunhat. Plenty of souvenirs to buy afterwards. There is a place to change at the cenote so bring your swimming costume. The tour bus picks you up from your hotel and drops you back at the end of the day. There are also only 6 people per tour which makes it more enjoyable.

        The absolute best Tulum tours!
We had the opportunity to book two tours with Mexico Kan Tours - the full day Coba Mayan Inland Adventure and half day Sian Ka'an / Muyil trip. Both tours were the highlight of our trip to Tulum! We loved our tour guides (Alonso and Luigi) who were informative, kind, and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. Every detail from reserving online, to pick up at our airbnb, to drop off was taken care of for us. Don't hesitate to book - you won't regret it!

        Incredible!
Our Driver (Adan) and Guide (Felipe) were FABULOUS. Felipe ensured that we (literally) walked the extra mile so that our Son could see some monkeys! Felipe was super smart and interacted great with Our Boys (aged 11 and 14). Trust these Guys with Your Family-I am glad that I did.

        Wonderful cenote experience
Our guide Ursula, and our driver Jesus, treated us to three distinctly different cenotes: * Casa Cenote, which is almost like an open lagoon * Cenote Taak Bi-Ha, which is an incredible cenote that you descend about 20-30 feet into * A private cenote, Santa Cruz, which is very much a cave like experience where you walk and wade through water in quite an enclosed cave to get to the exit. All three were amazing, and very different. Our guide, Ursula, was so much fun and was very accommodating to everyone in the tour group. We had plenty of time at each cenote, and after our last cenote we enjoyed an amazong lunch at a restaurant in Akumal before returning back. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel in the south part of the hotel zone, which was really nice. We didn't rent transportation while in Tulum so it helped to get picked up and dropped off door to door. Would definitely recommend this tour. It was great!

Day tour from Tulum to Chichen Itza
We had an amazing day visiting Chichen Itza, a cenote and Valladolid town. The tour was very organized, without too many activities packed in a single day. The guide Paloma was a star, she is warm, friendly, knowledgeable and made sure everyone had a great experience! The driver Gaspar was also great, very reliable and ponctual! Woudl definitely recommend it!

This was our second year booking this company on our visit to Tulum and probably the last one. We were extremely disappointed to see how the quality of the service is decreasing considerably. On our tours this years we felt that the knowledge and commitment to the environment of the guides was very poor. On our first trip to sian ka’an our boat failed and our tour guides weren’t able to manage the situation, our guide was very overwhelmed and made the trip very uncomfortable and boring. On our second day to Chichén Itzá, our transportation was a very small van for 2 couples, I mean we are already taking a risk to travel, but being on a small van with two other people didn’t seem safe at all, the worst thing was that the guide was driving and guiding, the poor guy seemed exhausted, we were worried the whole time on the road of him falling asleep. We liked this company before because their service was very personal and environmental caring but for what we experienced they have lost it all. I would not recommend this company to anyone anymore.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to write a review. As one of the owners of the company, I can tell you we give great importance to these observations; customer satisfaction is a priority in responsible travel as well as aspects related to the environment and the quality of life in our community. In the event of a problem such as the one you describe with the boat failure, we would always look for a way to compensate the traveller to make up for the inconvenience. Our guides are professional and experienced and we are confident they can find a way to solve or ease the problem. Quality and safety in our tours is something we take very seriously and for a full day tour like the one we do to Chichen Itza, if there are 4 or more people and we use a van, we always have a driver and a guide so the traveller can enjoy the full attention of the guide (the long distance between the passengers and the driver´s seat would not allow the guide to have a good converstation with the passengers). If the tour goes in a car because there are less than 4 people, in that case the guide might also be the driver. However, we believe you are mistaken us for another company because of the above explanation and because we have checked our records and since we re-opened our doors, we do not find a reservation with your name or the characteristics you describe for the tours you had. Please remove your comment because it does great damage to our reputation, times have been difficult in the tourism industry and we are working hard to provide the best service possible so we can continue doing what we love.

We did 2 excurions with Mexico Kan Tours. I want to start by saying that on both trips our guides and drivers were wonderful. We spent a full day with Tako (guide) and Lehi (Driver) going to Chichen Itza and Valladolid. Both were friendly and helpful. Tako was so knowledgeable about all things Maya and Yucatan. I don't think we tripped him up with a single question....and we ask a lot! You would be very lucky to get either of these two on an excursion.

Our second tour was to Muyil and Sian Ka'an with Carlos (Guide) and Rigo (Driver). Again, both great. Carlos knew so much about the archaelogical site AND the natural area. We also had a great home-cooked picnic lunch. Both tours were well organized, informative, fun and had really great guides and drivers.

My only drawback for this tour company ison the administrative side of things. For our first tour there was a mixup with the pickup point, the driver was told one thing and we were told another. Took a while o sort. Then we were informed we would be compensated in some way for the mixup but we were not. The communication with the company staff and the guides on the day and everything was also just very messy. Different pickup times in email vs text etc.

So Mexico Kan Tours has some work to do on the administrative side to keep things a little tighter, more organized. However, the quality of the tours themselves is excellent. I would stil very much recommend touring with them. If for no other reason then they hire the absolute best guides!

Hi Karli, Thanks a lot for your feedbacks, We are glad that you had 2 wonderful tours with us ! We are very sorry to hear that you did not receive the compensation that you were offered for the Pick Up mix up. Please do not hesitate to follow up on that with us via WhatsApp. We sent you a message. We seek to ensure the best experience possible for our customers and try to improve on a day to day basis. Customer satisfaction is very important for us and we appreciate a lot your comments. Warm Regards, Mexico Kan Tours.

We took the tour to Chichen Itza and Valeria was our guide . She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. This was one of the best experiences I had in Cancun. The lunch in Valladolid and homemade snacks were delicious. We then went to a cenote to close out the day. Loved every bit of it!

This was a fabulous day tour. We were worried that the drive would be long but it was broken up with lunch and the cenote which was perfect. Chechen Itza is over the top. The lunch was excellent! We were apprehensive about the cenote but do your self a favor, bring your suit and jump in! It's a wonderful experience. Our tour guide Phillipe was EXCELLENT! He was interesting, funny, well organized and energetic. This tour made our trip to Mexico a memorable one.

We had a great time with Luigi. He was so knowledgeable and fun to hang out with. The whole day was a blast, especially lunch and the cenote. Luigi and our lovely driver made it all special!

We went on a day excursion to the Mayan ruins and a cenote. Niko was our tour guide and he was fabulous! Great information without being boring. Very helpful and personable.
