We dove with Noah and Miguel @ Mar Adentro in December, choosing the two tank dive. We arrived for the day via cruise ship, but had booked with Mar Adentro via Shore Excursions Group. We took a $10.00 ($5.00 per person) taxi from the port area to Mar Adentro - a 10 minute drive. The diving was good, that day the water was not particularly clear and because our ship docked at 1pm, we didn't start our dives until around 3pm - and the sun set around 6:30. Noah was our divemaster for dive #1, and Miguel led us for dive #2. The team were friendly and took care of our safety. We both had trouble equalizing and since we were the only two divers in our group, our dive masters took time to let us clear our ears before proceeding. We essentially ran out of daylight and since the visibility was so-so, it was not easy to see much, but we did view large spiny lobsters. Portions of the dive wandered through canyons that you could dive down and explore. This was unique and we would enjoy exploring this terrain more on a sunny, clear-water day! The staff in the shop were upfront about the poor visibility due to recent rains and since we are relatively new divers, we took it in stride, since diving for us at this stage is about gaining experience. I would go back again and dive with this operation, especially if my schedule allows for an earlier arrival with better daylight. We used shorty wetsuits with surf shirts, but in December, the air is chilly after dark when you are wet, so a full suit might be better. With warmer air and more sun, the shorty should have been adequate. The water temp was warm, not cold. After changing and collecting ourselves, the crew called us a taxi and we made it back to the cruise ship with about 30 minutes to spare, so with a 3pm start, it may be safer to choose a single tank dive in order to have more time in port. We weren't stressed, but if there had been any taxi mishaps, we might have been late to the ship. Bottom line, Noah and Miguel and the whole team were professional and we enjoyed our dives!

We were staying near El Placer and did a 2 tank dive with Mar Adentro. The ocean conditions were a bit rough but once we were down there was up to 30 ft vis and no current. It was just my husband and I and our dive master Noah for the first dive. We saw a big turtle! The gear was good, we loaned equipment and had no issues with it. The boat is nice, and everyone was friendly. On the 2nd dive, a 3rd diver joined us. Unfortunately the vis decreased and he ended up losing the group. Our dive master did everything right, we looked around and didn't see him, did our safety stop, surfaced, and notified the captain. They found the 3rd diver when he surfaced and everything was OK. I would dive here again. We knew the conditions weren't going to be ideal for diving since there had been a front and lots of rain lately, we still had fun!

I’ve been using Mar Adentro Diving since 2021. The people have always been very professional and helpful. If you’re arriving via a cruise ship, like I do, it’s a short taxi ride to the dive shop. I have made multiple dives with these people and can highly recommend them.

Neto and Victor were excellent tour guides! Wonderful boat ride to the corral reef. Beautiful water, snorkeling was easy and fun. I saw corral, fish, and a stingray! Highly recommended this snorkeling tour!

Ernesto was great. The fish and coral were amazing. No turtles today. The water was rough, so some of our group quit early.

Neto was a great guide and very helpful and friendly. He went out of his way to ensure our safety when the waters were a bit rough and was kind when some of the snorklers had difficulty. It was an easy cab ride from the cruise port, and he hooked us up with a cab when we were done. We got there a bit earlier than we needed to and waited in lounge chairs by a beach restaurant just in front of his place where we ordered a smoothie for $6 that was tasty. If you ordered food there you could probably stay longer. I would recommend his place, great value, just difficult for some in and out of boat. Thanks for a great time!

We had an incredible snorkeling experience in Costa Maya with this fantastic crew we booked through TripAdvisor. From start to finish, they exceeded our expectations. The team was very responsive and communicated clearly in English, making the booking process and our trip seamless. When we arrived, they were ready and waiting for us, which immediately set the tone for a well-organized and stress-free outing. The guides were not only friendly but also very knowledgeable, taking time to explain everything to us and ensure we were comfortable and prepared. The weather was perfect—clear and sunny—which made the water look stunningly clear. We were amazed at the variety of fish we saw during the snorkel; it was like swimming in an aquarium! The guides made sure we felt safe and had an enjoyable time throughout the trip. To top it off, they went the extra mile by calling and arranging our taxi back to the port, ensuring we returned without any hassle. This crew made our day in Costa Maya absolutely unforgettable. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Our tour guides were Patricio and victor! They were great! My friends and I have never snorkeled before. They were very patient with us. And when we got in the water we were having a little difficulty with our masks. Victor… had the life ring and left all three of us hold onto it, while we kicked too, and took us all over to find things in the ocean. Victor would go down and show us different things. If he hadn’t done that?!!! We wouldn’t have seen nearly anything. And the ocean was a bit rough so we were just getting beat up by the waves. We probably would have quit waaay earlier. But he was soo patient! Thank you guys for a great experience!!

Took a taxi van $4 each. Very kind sea water guide. We got a lot of fishes although not finding a turtle 🐢. Snorkeling is a little bit longer than your expected. Just slowly swimming follow the guide.

Brande and Victor were excellent! Went with my wife and 3 daughters, one with a broken leg. They were super helpful and accommodating. The snorkeling had some of the widest variety of wildlife I’ve ever encountered.

Jose was a wonderful guide. We had 2 kids, 10yo and 8yo, who had never snorkeled before, and they had a great time. The knowledge of surrounding fish was great. Jose pointed out an Eagle Ray and Lion fish. There were schools of so many different fish and it was an overall wonderful experience! You do have to walk in about waist deep water to get to the boat, so come prepared! The taxi was $16 each way ($4 per person). The port is a bit lengthy to get through. We docked @1pm with a 1:30 snorkel time. We got there right on time, but we hustled through the port.

The crew were so great with our four grand kids and worked hard to make them feel safe and see some wonderful marine life including a turtle!

It was a nice excursion! The snorkeling was a little more advance but our 8yr old was able to keep up and their tour guides stay with you the whole time. Then you can relax on the beach when you get back.

Nice that the same dive shop offered both snorkel and SCUBA trips somewhat close together so that the non-certified friend I was traveling with and I could at least share a cab from our cruise ship and be together before and after the dives. Good guides, dive equipment and a great dive!

During our cruise stop in Costa Maya (Mahahual), I had the opportunity to schedule a last minute dive. But I needed an Open Water refresher class, and Mar Adentro immediately accommodated for this. I was able to complete my refresher and an amazing dive all in the short time we were there. Gala our knowledgeable, friendly, patient, pretty instructor gave us a thorough refresher and then took us into a Mahahual dive. We had beautiful sights and amazing time. I was able to do all this and be back on time for my cruise back on board time thanks to the friendly staff, Captain Trejo and everyone in the shop. Highly recommend Mar Adentro Diving Costa Maya if your Cruise is passing by this beautiful spot in the Mexican Caribbean... @Oscar, you have done an outstanding job developing this team!
