- nwrightmacewen0 contributionsSA Cycling Stunner! We did the 6 day ride through the SA vineyards. The whole experience exceeded our expectations! The e bikes were great as was the accommodation. The communication and organization was brilliant, we really enjoyed the variety of rides and activities each day. The whole tour was so well planned. Dan and Matt were also great guides, very accommodating and lots of fun to be with. Nothing was a problem for them. Great value for money, highly recommended.Written 16 November 2024
- macknz0 contributions7-Day South Australia Food & Wine E-Bike TourWonderful week biking around the wine country outside Adelaide -- on e-bikes so we could manage hills even after a wine tasting or two! Good bikes, accommodations, and experiences. Plenty of free time to do our own exploring (first time in that part of Australia) by ourselves or with others from the group. Daniel was our guide for most of the trip and he really knows his stuff! He gave us great advice on routes, restaurants, wineries, you name it. Only smally quibble was that it's really a 5-day trip since the first and last days are just the check in and out from hotels, no activities or bikes. Overall, a fantastic experience and well worth it.Written 10 November 2024
- Thomas M0 contributionsAn amazing tour!!!This was the best tour we did out of Adelaide. We did a total of 5 tours. I can't say enough about this tour. It has the best selection of things to stop at plus e-biking is an excellent way to see the Barossa Valley.Written 1 November 2024
- Sightseer278036843920 contributionsAMAZINGAbsolutely amazing tour. Daniel was great. The wineries, cheese cellar, and chocolate factory were unreal. Everything was amazing . He was super helpful and accommodating with my injury and I couldn’t have expected more. Wonderful experience.Written 30 October 2024
- Happiness666038587310 contributionsGreat Ebike cycle tripWe had the most wonderful week. Our guides, Dan and Matt, were fantastic. They had a lot of knowledge of the local area. The cycling was mainly on cycle paths. Ebikes made the trip an easy ride. We got to enjoy the beautiful scenery as we cycled. We enjoyed lovely wine and excellent local food.Written 20 October 2024
- Derek8730 contributionsOutstanding South Australian e-bike tourWe went on the 7 day South Australian food and wine e-bike tour in Oct 2024. We have done a lot of travel in Australia and overseas and this tour was by far the best tour we have ever had. Dan and his Bikeabout team have put together a wonderfull tour highlighting the best scenery, experiences, food and wine that these wine regions have to offer. This is topped off by the guides who could not be more personable, knowledgeable, experienced and welcoming. We can highly recommend this to anyone who wants to see the best of South Australia’s’ Adelaide region. The cycling was easy and predominately on bike trails with the e-bikes making any small hills a breeze.Written 19 October 2024
- 980juder0 contributionsAwesome ebike experience!Highly recommend the 5 day ebike tour through Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley. Really well considered itinerary providing a variety of landscapes and experiences. Dan was an awesome guide. He knew a lot about the local areas we rode through being from the area and could recommend places of interest, cafes etc. My husband and I really enjoyed his company with lots of friendly banter. The whole tour was well-organised but relaxed. Thoroughly enjoyable. Mark and Jude (NZ)Written 24 September 2024

- petermB3074HQ0 contributionsGreat tour, great hosts, beautiful scenery, awesome cycling, wining and dining experience in SA....This wonderful holiday and tour was so enjoyable. We stayed a few extra days and explored Adelaide and surrounds, attended a Crows vs Eagles game at the Adelaide Oval, went to a performance of Symphony of the Bicycle, visited the pandas at the Adelaide Zoo and the amazing Botanic Gardens. Then we enjoyed 5 days of wonderful cycling adventures through a range of cycle trails taking us down the coast, then inland to McLaren Vale, the quaint Hahndorf, the Amy Gillett Pathway, the Adelaide Hills and then the Barossa Valley. The last day was a stunning ride all the way along the Torrens to the coast. The Merida mountain e-bicycles were superb, with plenty of battery capacity to help you along and had a good sized saddlebag for a bit of gear. The mid drive motor, brilliant hydraulic brakes and great geometry made it such a comfortable and enjoyable ride. The longest ride was around 30km which we accomplished easily. We were hosted by Daniel who is a wonderfully engaging gentleman with a passion for touring and his beautiful state, with all of the sights and experiences it had to offer. Nothing was too much trouble and Daniel really looked after us, he's got all sorts of options for mixing up the tour and catering for things like weather changes and so on. We had such a great time on this tour, the scenery, fresh air, variety of terrain, wonderful wine, the food!!! - lucky we were burning a few calories by riding each day, excellent accommodation and Daniels cheerful good humour and encyclopaedic knowledge of all things SA made it very special. On the last day we even got to meet Jack, the founder of Bike About, who was happy to tell us all about his journey in cycle tourism. This is a great tour if you like being out and about seeing different sights and enjoying new experiences each day, it was just great and it is indeed 'better by bike'. Thanks Daniel, and we hope to join a Bike About tour again soon.Written 27 June 2024

- LindsayR6550 contributionsMt. Lofty E-Wheels and Wildlife tourWe really enjoyed our morning cycling in and around the Cleland Conservation Park. Nothing was too much trouble for Dan, who was our guide for the morning. We had a bit of prior experience riding rail trails and linear parks on conventional bikes, but Dan quickly got us orientated to their well maintained, top-of-the range e-bikes and the challenges of the tracks which were easy in most parts and a bit tricky in a few spots. He was a great mentor and we were quicky and confidently winding our way through the park. Dan pointed out the koalas and kangaroos along the way. The view of the city from the Mt Osmond lookout was spectacular and the scenery along the way was inspiring. We would highly recommend the experience and Bike About as great hosts.Written 7 June 2024
- 7gaili0 contributionsGreat way to see the Barossa!!!A fabulous tour of the beautiful Barossa on our E-bikes with Dan and his crew being super guides and support along the way. Cycling, cheese tasting, strawberry picking plus wine tasting (what more could you ask for?) all organized superbly by Dan even arranging great accommodation and transport between towns so we could cycle safely on flat pathways. :-) I would certainly recommend this tour and hopefully come back again in the future. Thanks heaps Dan xxWritten 29 May 2024
- WendyO5370 contributionsAdelaide Barossa - must doAfter a long time planning the tour with our group I can honestly say that every part of the tour was fantastic. Dan and Piers led us along some amazing pathways and showed us the changing colours of the landscape which was awesome to see. Accommodation provided was very comfortable and all amenities were covered. The highlights of our trip were too many to choose one from another, all were of very high standard. Bike About were very professional, very friendly and I would recommend anyone wanting to visit the Barossa Valley to do it through Bike About – you will not be disappointed.Written 26 May 2024

This was an outstanding day! It was an easy ride with beautiful scenery and great stops. Top wineries, historic Hahndorf and the Adelaide Hills all in four hours. The guide Dan was really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about biking and the local area. I took some international visitors and they were very impressed! I highly recommend this tour.

Fabulous day with Dan, even though the weather wasn’t ideal, we still had an amazing time. Riding an E-bike for the first time proved a little challenging at first, but as the day progressed became so much fun.
First to Beerenberg for Strawberry tasting and picking, then down the Main Street of Hahndorf to Udder Delights for a fabulous cheese platter and coffee.
This lined the stomach for what was to come, as we headed down the backroads, admiring beautiful scenery along the way, before reaching the first of three wineries, Shaw and Smith. A lovely wine tasting here, before heading to Nepenthe and then The Lane, our final stop with lots of lovely tastes as well as cheese and crackers.
A fabulous tour day and a huge thank you to Dan for making it so much more enjoyable with his great company.
Highly recommended.

It was an excellent bike trip. Cycling through the vineyards on bike paths was enjoyable and safe. Bikes were in good condition. The guides were fun to be with and knowledgeable. The group was small (8), we could cycle with the group or by ourselves. We stayed at great hotels at end of each day’s ride. We had some variety, on the trip, also having a picnic at a vineyard, picking strawberries, visiting a cheese factory.

Superb day out. A definite highlight of our Adelaide Hills trip.
Last year two of us did the e-bike tour, and this year we brought 3 friends. They loved it!
Lots of laughs, stories and buckets of treats.
First stop was Beerenberg Farm with strawberry picking, then a cheese platter overlooking the river followed by wine tastings. This was topped off with a catered picnic lunch of high quality. Plenty of goodies left over to have for supper that night.
Daniel our guide was brilliant. One of our group hadn’t ridden for 20 years or so.
He was able to get her up and rolling and she looked like a pro with his guidance.
The e-bikes are perfect for the Adelaide Hills.
The tour is perfect for couples and small groups.
Highly recommended!
They make for having a social time whilst soaking in the scenery.

A few weeks back my partner and I did the e-cycling Safari at Monarto Safari Park with Bike About. The tour was nothing short of amazing. We were able to ride through the park before it opened which meant nobody else in there which was incredible. The giraffes were being fed whilst we were also being fed a morning tea and the lions. 360 was so surreal. Dan and Jarrod were the best guides and we will be recommending this to all our friends.

Julie and I were impressed by the friendliness and local knowledge of our guide Dan and Jack who drove the bus and is also the owner of Bikeabout. The ride was well planned with many interesting stops along the way. We had plenty of free time to explore the Barossa and around Hahndorf. we were a small party of four and enjoyed the company and the adventures we had together. The ebikes were well maintained. Thanks Jack and Dan we enjoyed the adventure.

Dan Young, our guide, knew the wine area well and showed us all the great food stops. From the jam and cheese stops to the three wineries, we really tasted the best of everything this area has to offer. The comfortable e-bikes made the journey a breeze!

Had a fantastic time as on an e-bike made the trip through the best vineyards in the area and along the bike paths that much easier. Daniel was a great leader and knew all the great places to take us/guide us especially when it came to food and wine. The accommodation on the trip was the best and to end up in Glenelg overlooking the bay at the end of the trip was amazing. A great trip with a great group of people

Dan and his team provided an outstanding experience! We felt very supported and well taken care of. It was lovely to not have to worry about anything and just enjoy the views and lovely spots we were taken to. As first time e-bike riders, my friend and I also felt very well instructed and like we were in good hands! Highly recommend!

What a wonderful experience! Jack and Dan are both friendly, experienced and have a great local knowledge. Dan was a fun, relaxed guide who was great company as he led us on our e-bike tour. The food and wine tasting was a fantastic part of the experience. The e-bikes were new and easy to ride for beginners and experienced riders. Even the overcast weather did not dampen our experience. We highly recommend Bike About. Thanks again Dan and Jack.
