    granddaughters 1st birthday!
Visited today for granddaughters 1st birthday, she loved all the fishes, the lights and the sounds. The last time i visited the site where this is, it use to be a dolphin aquarium, it is a lovely building, the layout is good, displays are good. My only gripe is the glass bottom boat, which in my opinion is a waste of money, your better off looking at the same fish through the tunnel. generally a good few hours out.

    A great family visit!
A great way to spend the morning. We took our Son to the Sealife Centre in Brighton for his 1st Birthday. He loved it (and so did we!) lots to see and enjoy. Very easy to get to!

    Fantastic
Just fantastic! Loved looking at all the different species. Had a great time on the VR headsets and I could have happily stayed in that tunnel all day long. Staff were so friendly and the building is just beautiful.

Plenty of underwater life to be seen.
Due to works at the Centre entry was via an alternative route. Whilst this was displayed at the front of the building directions were sparse and not very clear. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. An interesting visit otherwise.

    Day out with Granddaughter
Firstly they are obviously doing work on the front of the proper entrance, they really must improve there signage to the temporary entrance it took me and 4 other people to work out how to get to the entrance.Very inadequate also bearing in mind that many overseas visit the centre. Please look at that.My granddaughter had a lovely day and really enjoyed it,she would have loved to have done the trip in the glass bottom boat but just to expensive. It is such a pity that there is such a basic refreshment area ,not much choice especially for small children.we went away with some lovely photos ,the gift shop was well stocked and like so many places the items were quite expensive.

    Great place
We really enjoyed our visit to the Sea life. They have lovely selection of sea animals. We loved the tunnel with sharks and turtles. Kids also enjoyed touching the star fish. And we loved the Virtual reality. It was a great day out. Will definitely recommend.

    No notice of early closure
Very disappointed. I pre booked the tickets on line for my daughter’s birthday. Could book right up until 3pm on line, I went with 11:50 as we were travelling from over an hour away. Halfway round the site we we’re approached by member of staff who had asked us if we had heard about the announcement? We said no. And was told that the site would be closing in 15 minutes so we needed to start making our way to the exit. (1pm) there was no notices about this online when I pre-booked the tickets, no one said anything to us at the front desk when we checked in. We paid full price tickets for something we only got to experience for an hour. If I’d known about the early closure prior to being told 15 minutes beforehand, I would’ve booked for a different day. Took away from the whole experience.

    Awful
Every time I visit this place I am more and more disappointed. For the price they charge does not warrant what you see. This whole visit can be over in less than half an hour. It’s got worse over the years instead of better?

    DO NOT RECOMMEND
Massively underwhelming! very small and not a great amount to look at! at lot of the tanks had nothing in, waiting for new sea life! Far too many people let in at once was not enjoyable at all…you had to battle past people to just get a look in. This cost £47 for two adults and baby under 1… Absolutely not worth it! Very overpriced for what you get. So disappointed this was to celebrate our son’s upcoming 1st birthday…

    Well worth it
Well worth the visit and the entry price, although it would be nice if they took cash, and offered concessions to pensioners. The tunnel below allowing viewing of the sharks and turtles was brilliant

    Fabulous Architecture and Fish Too!
We visited the Brighton Sea Life centre in January 2024 while on a short break in the town. The main entrance was being refurbished so we entered through a subway from the beach path which was not particularly well signposted. Once inside the Victorian architecture in the main part of the aquarium is quite amazing - vaulted roof and lots of tiles - worth a visit to see that alone. The various fish exhibits are interesting and it was good to see the variety as well as learn new information about the British coastline. Certainly worth a visit.

Birthday day out for the +1
+1 wanted to go to an aquarium for her birthday. Our local one is rather small so decided to visit Brighton sealife. I’m disabled and they offer a free carer ticket (used my access card with no problem at the entrance) Good parts: Really lovely displays and lots of information about the animals. Staff were friendly and helpful. +1 loved the rock pool and being up close to the animals Not so good parts: I use a walking stick to help me walk. The floor in pretty much all of the building is so slippy that my stick kept sliding away from me. I found it hard to enjoy the sealife while worrying about falling over. There’s nowhere to sit and rest apart from in the cafe. The lovely person doing the VR experience could see I was struggling and let me sit down. Would I go again? Probably not

Good day out, but lube up for the parking
Good day out. However, would be nice for Sealife to advise on their website that the car park they suggest you park in, costs £25!

    Super setting - great displays
We have been to a number of Sealife centres but this one stands out as one of the best. A unique setting and different displays with some great talks.

    Inspiring day out
Had an amazing time! Such well kept tanks, amazing creatures and magical atmosphere. There was something for everyone, we enjoyed the turtle talk and sea horse craft session. I would love to name drop but I spoke to 5 member of staff and all were fantastic, helpful and knowledgeable! They were so inspiring to my little boy that wants to work with sea turtles!

Hi igorl183, We're sorry to hear there was some confusion and disappointment around your visit to SEA LIFE Brighton. The attraction remained closed until Saturday 4th July and our opening times were reflective of this across social media channels and our official website. We're sorry to hear you were able to purchase tickets for a date when we were still closed. In order for us to look in to this further, please drop us an e-mail to slcbrighton@merlinentertainments.biz Best fishes, Helen SEA LIFE Brighton

Visited with my daughter, son-in-law and grandson and had an excellent time. The staff we so knowledgeable which made the visit that much more interesting. It is such a tranquil place and all the creatures look so well looked after. I would definitely recommend visiting but book early online and you get a good discount.

Visited today and was not disappointed in any way. This centre is one of the best we have been to. The staff were very friendly and talked lots to our six year old little boy about the animals. The seals were amazing and they are doing fantastic work with this animals. Staff were knowledgeable and we would visit again.

Myself, my husband and a friend visited Sealife yesterday and were thrilled with our experience and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, in this tranquil world of Sea creatures and their daily lives, in perfectly organised temperatures and environment. The Seals and penguins were so cute and lovely, and loved seeing visitors and we stayed to watch them at feeding time throughout our stay there. The Turtle we saw was so beautiful and graceful and it was lovely to see him swimming about among the other fish including sharks. Some of the fish in other tanks were enormous and and the little seahorses were gorgeous ! We poarticularly liked the young girl Pauline who was very helpful and considerate to us and she is an asset to the Sealife Sanctuary !! Sincerely

We visited the sea life centre with our one year old. When we arrived, we were offered a guide booklet for £4.99 which we didn't buy. On our way through to the aquarium, we were stopped abruptly and told to stand by the wall for a photo. Something we were not interested in, no option but to stand there. I felt it was a bit of a desperate way to make money. The aquarium is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. There is a good collection of fish. The path through the aquarium is narrow so you are moved along by the people behind you. The new penguin enclosure is tiny - so cruel! We watched feeding of the seals which was educating. They have a bug section as you leave and there was an actor dressed as a mermaid. I feel that the focus has been lost here. A lot has been thrown into the mix to try and make this a profitable place. They should turn it into a seal sanctuary and do good!

It was £85 for the 5 of us, 3 adults and 2 children on a walk up with no vouchers. Perhaps we should have planned the visit more and come armed with the myriad of vouchers we’ve now found out exists.
To Soften the blow they say you can come back all season for the money but it’s 3 hour drive so doubt we would take them up on it.
The place is quite small and only takes an hour to see everything, in detail! But they do do some great work in the seal sanctuary so take some comfort that perhaps some of the fees support that.
Sadly the £10 for a digital print didn’t impress us as in this day and age it should be part of the experience and emailed a digital copy, especially considering the entrance cost.

A really interesting place to visit. Lots of creatures to look at, in very well presented tanks and pools.
Ernie the turtle and the penguins were awesome!
Keep up the great work caring for, and rehabilitating the seals!

Worth a visit but it's not cheap for what it is. We used Tesco vouchers which brought the cost down and bought tickets in advance; luckily our 2-year-old is still young enough to go free but the cost mounts up fast if you have older children. It was - fine. But we felt it was much smaller than we were expecting for the cost and it all feels a bit like it needs sprucing up. Some fun exhibits - we enjoyed the baby sharks (do do do do do do) and the amazon rainforest, and the penguins.
