Overview
See the natural wonders that line the Historic Columbia River Highway on this day trip from Portland to Mt Hood. With a guide, you'll be whisked to some of Oregon’s most spectacular sights, including Multnomah Falls and the Columbia River Gorge, as you learn about the area along the way. Stop by attractions like Timberline Lodge and Rowena Crest, and have free time for lunch in Hood River.
Highlights
  • Maximize your time in Portland by combining top area attractions in one tour
  • See Columbia River Gorge highlights without private transportation
  • Sights include Multnomah Falls, the town of Hood River, and Mt. Hood
  • Get free time at each stop to explore on your own
  • Hear insider stories and information from your guide
  • Small-group tour limited to 12 people or fewer
  • Door-to-door transportation with hotel pickup and drop-off is for downtown Portland hotels
What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your Portland hotel. After collecting the rest of your small-group (maximum of 12), head to Multnomah Falls, a popular Portland-area attraction and one of the tallest waterfalls in the US. Bypass the crowded parking lot and head straight to the short walking trail where you can search for the perfect photo spot.
Continue to the quaint town of Hood River, where you have free time to grab lunch, shop, or visit a wine-tasting room (own expense). Your guide will fill you in on the town’s history and important location at the intersection of the Columbia and Hood Rivers.
Then, reconvene with your guide and head to either the Rowena Crest farm stand or Trilium Lake, (depending on the season), followed by an easy drive to the summit of Mt. Hood. Enjoy the fabulous views and mountain scenery before returning to Portland for hotel drop-off

This day trip has super-knowledgable and friendly guides. We stopped a local fruit stand which had nice produce and a lavender farm for a photo-op. If you're after a low-pressure and accessible tour that is well-rounded to get a taste of the areas for future...More

I would call the tour company and find out which is the closest hotel from the person's home that you are staying at. Have them take you to the hotel.
