Overview
Experience the Pacific Northwest’s most-dynamic cultural hub on this small-group tour of Portland's highlights! Explore diverse neighborhoods with your TripAdvisor 'Hall of Fame' guide. You’ll be treated to morning tea and pastries, as well as walks & scenic views, with round-trip downtown Portland hotel transport included.
Begin with Pittock Mansion for unparalleled views of the city and Mt. Hood. The historic setting is an ideal place to discuss Portland’s pioneer history and development.
Take in roses or cherry blossoms, see the landscape design of J.C. Olmsted, witness sustainability integrated into an urban environment, and learn about cinder-cone volcanoes that once covered the area!
After experiencing the city’s natural side, dive into its artsy and independent spirit. Experience neighborhoods such as the Pearl District, Hawthorne, Nob Hill, Alberta, and North Mississippi for a slice of Portlandia, embodied in food truck pods, hip specialty boutiques, and craft breweries.
Highlights
  • Visit Pittock Mansion and Powell’s Books
  • Morning tea, pastries, and seasonal snacks included
  • Convenient pickup and drop-off from downtown Portland hotels
What to Expect
Start the day with pick-up at your downtown Portland hotel. Make your way to the grounds of the Pittock Mansion to delve into Portland’s history and take in city views from the mansion’s manicured grounds. This is followed by a trip through Washington Park and to Portland’s Rose Garden, where your guide will have French-pressed coffee or tea available
Next, get your bearings with a tour of the city’s four quadrants, stopping to explore the shops, art galleries, restaurants, and bars that give Hawthorne, Alberta, The Pearl District, and other neighborhoods their distinct identities.
Then tour at least two of Portland’s parks to learn about native plants and animals with your guide. You might explore wooded walking trails at Mount Tabor, walk the graceful lawns and ponds of Laurelhurst Park, sniff up to 500 varieties of roses at the International Rose Test Garden, or take in panoramic views from Washington Park, depending on the season.
Back downtown, we recommend ending your tour at Powell’s Books, one of the largest bookstores in the world, or at the waterfront Saturday Market (Saturdays and Sundays) to continue your tour of Portland independently.

This was a great tour for our limited time in Portland. We had limited time and this was the best use of three hours to see many aspects of the city. We hope to return some day for other tours in the area.

I booked this tour thinking I would be stopping at the famous Powell Bookstore or be able to walk around Pearl District or explore the inside of Pittock mansion as advertised in the TripAdvisor website. To my disappointment we only drove past these landmarks. The...More

We could be upset by your review, but your commentary is pretty accurate, and as you can see reading through past reviews, many of our less-than-5-star reviews owe their existence in part to inaccurate representation on other websites that are not fully under our control....More

Marcus did a great job of getting us around the city. However, it was quite foggy that morning and the views we were meant to see were not possible.

I didn’t see any free parking. But we parked at an open lot with an attendant just across the street. It was not free, but it was a very good rate for the entire day.
