About
This day trip is a customized tour along a section of rugged coastline along Oregon's northern coast. There will be one or two town stops, and multiple stops at headlands and beaches. After your pickup in Portland, we'll discuss the interests of people in the group, and your guide will customize the itinerary to those interests. Regardless of interests, the trip will include driving the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway with a short hike through oldgrowth Sitka spruce forest, beach time, tide pools, sea stacks, viewpoint stops, and a lunch stop in a charming coastal town. If group interest allows, stops with a more technological history focus may be made, such as the Tillamook Air Museum, Tillamook Creamery (currently closed due to COVID-19), or Camp 18. - Please be prepared for whatever the weather may be when your tour runs - Wear shoes that you don't mind getting sandy and wet. *We are the only operator in Portland who has sneeze guards between the rows in our vehicle.*

The natural beauty of Oregon's coast highlights seen and narrated by a local who was both knowledgeable and personable. There was plenty of time to walk many of the locations and ask the questions that came to mind in appreciating the history. Marcus provided door-to-door hotel pick-up service with some nine hours of spectacular viewing in between. This is the tour you want to be on.

Loved this tour! Wonderful day from beginning to end. Marcus was an excellent tour guide throughout the trip. Very knowledgeable information about Portland and the northern coast. Cannon beach was beautiful and relaxing. Stopped at Tillamook factory for cheese and ice cream. Will definitely book again for another tour that they offer. Thank you Terran Travels for a memorable day!

What a great trip to the coast....! It included many great quick stops filled with a lot of great information and history. We also had a generous amount of time for Canon Beach and lunch. Marcus was very personable and accommodating to the group. We had to drive thru a very snowy area and the Sprinter van at Marcus’s control was as steady as a rock and very comfortable. When I visit Portland on my next trip Marcus will be my only choice. It allowed us to make great memories with our family and have fun filled and exciting day. Thanks Marcus

It was a good tour. Marcus shared a lot of information about Portland. He did ask if we had any special requests before the trip started and based on that modified the day's schedule. We stopped at a bunch of scenic spots, did a small hike in the woods along the way. Drove through a lot of small villages. Spent a lot of time at Ecola for lunch & some strolling, maybe that was a bit much.We did not stick to the itinerary...The tour ended around much earlier than mentioned (by 2 hours), I guess based on the special requests.
Overall real good for a first time trip to the Coast. Appreciate the information, the pick up and drop off and good service. Esp. impressed that the quiet group did not stop the guide from doing his thing :)

Hello Kushki. The times given for the itinerary are based on pickup and drop-off times, not time spent on the coast, which is standard for tour itineraries. If we had spent 8 hours on the coast, your tour would have been 12 hours long. Given that your pickup was at 8:40 and your drop-off was at 17:40, that comes to 9 hours for your tour. The further your pickup is in the opposite direction from the destination (in your case 10 miles east of downtown), the more the drive will cut into time spent at the destination. The list of potential stops shown for this tour are not possible to do in a single day, that is why we ask the guests what they are most interested in seeing, and we customize it accordingly.

Marcus provided us with lots of information about Portland/Oregon. We especially enjoyed his sharing about the plants we came across during the short beach trail. We are so fortunate that it was a sunny day and we could enjoy the coastal views at its best! Thanks for the wonderful experience!

The tour began with Marcus picking us up at our hotel. We picked up four other travelers and hit the road for a trip that would last about 10 hours. Every stop was more and more lovely than the last and Marcus was an excellent tour guide who knew a great deal about the animals, plants, and geology of the areas we visited. We definitely wished for more time at every stop but this tour allowed us to see and experience much more. It’s a great welcoming tour for the area if you have never been to the PNW and I highly suggest it. Just be sure to mark your location so you can come back and explore a little more when you have more time. Towards the end of the trip we got to know Marcus a little more and he played for us a playlist he created and shared some yummy snacks as we prepared for the trip back to Portland. We appreciated every second of this trip and were grateful for a personable and knowledgeable tour guide.
