What to expect
  • Come howl with us! White Wolf Sanctuary is only ten miles from HWY 101 on the Oregon Coast! Our tour experience begins at our two-mile dirt road off of Alsea Highway and the scenic Alsea River. Guests will be escorted, in their own vehicles, to the top of the mountain where White Wolf Sanctuary is located. Everyone will then convene on our large deck that is surrounded by forested wolf habitats, wild ravens and the ambiance of the natural world for a 45-minute interactive presentation about wolves and their place as apex predators. After the presentation, a guided tour of the sanctuary will give guests the opportunity to visit each wolf’s habitat and learn their story. The hike around the sanctuary is magical at times with the coastal mist moving through the trees with the sound of ravens and the song of the wolves. The wolves are in spacious enclosed habitats where they are allowed to move freely. With wild wolf populations increasing in the state of Oregon this is a tour you won't want to miss. There is a small gift shop and restroom facilities. Tours last two hours and operate rain or shine.

Fun and learning for the whole family
Oct 2021 • Family
We loved the educational presentation at the start of our time there. We learned a lot and we all enjoyed it. Our guide, Nicola, clearly has so much heart for wolves and all wild creatures. Fun and education in a gorgeous wild setting.

So awesome and worth it! Our guide was very informative and the wolves were adorable! You’ll want to be aware that you either want 4x4 or ride up with the guide. Your car will be parked of site but it’s safe. Property is accessed via forest service aka wagon trail.

An experience like no other for those who love wolves and preservation
Sep 2021
Everything was very smooth, our guide (Volunteer) was knowledgeable, friendly, had good communication and she had a bond with the wolves that made the wolves seem very comfortable even with people unknown to them. We were the only 2 on the tour and the wolves howling and being playful was quite an experience. We were able to get within a few feet of these majestic animals and see their eyes alight with intelligence. Learning how these animals are persecuted as a villain when it is simply not true is a real eye opener.

A fantastic, educational gem for young and old alike.
Sep 2021
This was a fantastic experience. Very educational--I even learned (or perhaps, relearned) a few things. There was such a wide age range of participants as well, from seven years old to well over seventy.

My daughter wanted to have a real-life wolf visit for her birthday and this was a great option. We turned the whole thing into a day trip to the Oregon Coast, in early September when the weather is still nice.

Nicola was a great guide, and she even drove us in her vehicle because ours would not make it up the road. She was pleasant and personable and even gave us a restaurant recommendation that we later dined at and loved.

Our daughter wants to return soon! Not surprising that some of the others on the tour were on a second visit as well.

Best part of our Oregon trip
Jul 2021 • Couples
My boyfriend and I took a trip to Oregon this past July and I bought tickets to go on a tour at the WWS. I can tell you they did not disappoint; it was the best part of our trip in my opinion. We learned so much about wolves and the friendly woman who gave the tour was also very knowledgeable. She remembered our names and I could tell she genuinely cares about what she does. We saw all but one wolf (the shyest one). One wolf even came up to try and get scratches and proceeded to chill out and follow us as we moved past her. She acted more like a puppy than a wolf, which we were told is how they act with their pack. It was great to get a glimpse into how wolves actually act and to learn more about them. I had the experience of a lifetime and hope we can travel to the west coast again to check up on them all.

Wonderful and Educational Sanctuary
Aug 2021 • Family
Wonderful santuary! So dedicated to the wolf's at the sanctuary and around the US and their history/population. I felt so educated and wanting to know more and help wolf's in need around the US. The volunteers and staff are amazing, loving and dedicated people. They love wolfs and respect them fully, their comfort and survival. Such beautiful wolves and what a honor to have met the "pack" at White Wolf Sanctuary. Dont miss out on this experience and in helping the wolves!!:)
