Overview
Put a fun twist on a traditional history tour with this Charleston ghost tour, which takes you through the Holy City and to its spookiest attractions. As you walk through the streets, your guide tells macabre tales of generals, murderers, and thieves who played a role in Charleston's past—and whose spirits just might still linger in haunted locations around the city.
What to Expect
Meet your guide at a central location in downtown Charleston and prepare to walk the streets of this historic and haunted city.

Follow your guide down cobbled alleyways and past spooky sites that played a role in Charleston’s past. As you walk, your guide tells obscure stories from Charleston’s early days as a colony, through the Civil War, and up to the present that most history tours skip. Hear about restless souls, paranormal activity, and plans gone awry that make the Holy City one of the most haunted places in the South.

Please note that you do not enter any buildings or graveyards on this tour, and it is not recommend for children 6 and younger.

Reasonably entertaining, but a printed booklet would be just as good

Our host was enthusiastic, and obviously enjoyed hosting the tour, but, as the title says, a booklet and map would have provided at least the same level of interest.

Good Storytelling

I have been on a lot of ghost tours and this one was good. Loved the stories and the way they were told. Some history was thrown in there which is always nice. One thing I was wondering; we did not go into the graveyards...More

Just okay

The tour was a bit "hokey" and as another person said, a lot of parking lots. The tour was recommended by another company and we were a bit disappointed. It was somewhat informative but a lot of standing around.

90 min, mostly standing in parking lots

We did the “Chilling Charleston Macabre Ghost Walking Tour” tour and… It was underwhelming. We walked around the same block for about 90 min, when every few minutes we stopped to listen to a humorously told ghost story. From a storytelling perspective, our guide (can’t...More

It’s fairly easy paced. We hit 4-5 places it literally was a giant circle that we went in around King Street if I remember correctly. Main thing is we went at night, if I hadn’t had the flashlight on my phone on I’m sure me... More
