Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- ginabQ9535HD0 contributionsA day of beauty from start to finish! The views were breathtaking and the small group made for a more intimate experience. Our guide James was nothing short of incredible! So knowledgeable and accommodating to all guests. We would definitely book another trip!Written 4 February 2025
- Vacation142852444980 contributionsEngaging and fun in a beautiful land!We had great communication and phenomenal time under the leadership of Owen! Fun and engaging, he had our whole group interacting and was a joy to have as our guide. His optimism and genuine love of the area shone through at every point.Written 10 January 2025
- 113gemmaf0 contributionsBeautiful views, lovely tour guide James and perfect weatherJames was our tour guide and he was absolutely amazing! He had plenty of facts and information on the history of each stop. It ended up just being my friend and I on the tour as nobody else had booked, which meant we had more time to do a couple of extra stops for some more pretty pictures! The weather was perfect which was a bonus. James is an easy going guy and kept conversation going, meaning it wasn’t awkward in the van or throughout the day! Overall plenty of laughs and incredibly pretty views!Written 10 January 2025
- gabriellapA681ZT0 contributionsIncredibleJames was amazing and added so much character and history to the tour. The views were picture perfect on a clear winter day. Couldn’t fault the experience at all!Written 10 January 2025
- Talia M0 contributionsPerfect multigenerational tourWe had a wonderful 3 days exploring Isle of Skye and Highlands of Scotland from Edinburgh. Our tour guide Ailsa was fantastic and we buddied up with a second tour whom Jim was the tour guide for, together they were so knowledgeable and brilliant storytellers. I traveled with my mum and my sister (30s, 40s, 70s) and we all loved the experience. From enquiring to completion of the tour the company was great to deal with and accomodating of any requests. We were initially apprehensive about how much walking there would be however the guides knew exactly where to go for ease of access to attractions with comfortable options to wait if you didn’t want to do some of the longer walking stints. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to explore Scotland’s stunning highlands and the beautiful Isle of Skye.Written 6 January 2025
- lauratZ2665NQ0 contributionsIsle of Skye and Highlands tourIt was a great tour, our guide, Jim, was absolutely lovely and the places we visited were stunning (we did the Isle of Skye and Highlands tours). Absolutely recommended.Written 6 January 2025
- janicesF2623JB0 contributionsScotland’s Wild is the way to go. Best tour guide.Best day out such a well timed experience never felt pushed or that it dragged. Our group only had 7 so you got plenty of room. The guide Owen was outstanding the knowledge and stories he told were entertaining and educational 5 stars.Written 23 December 2024
- davidaQ1111DF0 contributionsScotlands Wild - Excellent ToursWe went on the Stirling Castle, Kelpies, Whisky, and Loch Lomond tour from Edinburgh with our guide Owen. He was amazing. His knowledge of history put everything into perspective for us. He is a great storyteller as well. I’m not sure how he remembers it all, but he tells his stories with a passion. Very friendly and a great driver. This was our second tour with Scotlands Wild but it not be the last. Very enjoyable and highly recommended!Written 17 December 2024
- horaciog2860 contributionsBig experienceIt was a totally memorable experience going to the highlands of this beautiful country. Not only that but our guide Jim made a huge difference with his tons of interesting information, passion for what he's doing, care and kindness with all of us. I can tell there's a difference when you're doing what you like because it doesn't seem like you're working but like you're first of all enjoying and transmitting that vibe to your recipients. Thanks a lot!!!Written 14 December 2024
- susanmD3016BP0 contributionsA fun day!Great tour! Our guide, Jim, was very knowledgeable and entertained us with great stories of the history of Scotland. The weather didn’t cooperate, however, it didn’t stop us from having a wonderful day. I’d highly recommend this tourWritten 2 December 2024
- bettejoc20240 contributionsGlencoeJim was an excellent tour guide for us for our day trip to the stunning Glencoe He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and fun! He showed the Canadian ladies some wonderful Scottish hospitality! The trip was great despite the rain but Jim made it work and planned the stops accordingly. Highly recommended and will come back and take another trip.Written 2 December 2024
- Malissa L0 contributionsAmazing first into to Scotland!!We did the Sterling Castle, Loch Lomond, Glencoyne distillery and kelpies tour with Karen and it was amazing! She was knowledgeable, hospitable and a lot of fun to travel through Scotland with! This was Our first time and she definitely set the stage for future visits!!Written 27 November 2024
- sdO7752CI0 contributionsWonderful experience!I had a great time during the tour! Our guide was Karen and she did a wonderful job telling the old tales of Scotland. I booked the 5 day tour to the Orkney islands, which was quite a drive, but due to the stories told in advance, which I found useful because at every stop I would already have background information, the time flew by. The program is quite packed, however Karen did take our opinion into consideration and made changes when we asked. I will book another tour with Scotland's Wild Tours!Written 17 November 2024
- T434NNmichaelc0 contributionsHighlight of our honeymoon! My wife and I went on the 3-day Highlands tour as part of our honeymoon trip. We both can say that it was the highlight of the 10 days that we spent in Scotland. One of the main reasons we chose to book with "Scotland's wild" was the group size of the tours. We wanted to make sure that we would have a personal experience with tour guides and whoever else we were with instead of being rushed from location to location. We had seven people in our group. Throughout the three days we grew closer, and by the end I couldn't imagine the trip without any of them. Our tour guide James was definitely the best part of the tour other than the beautiful locations that he took us. He provided us with a local standpoint on many things as he grew up in Scotland himself. You created a warm and welcoming environment for everyone, and made sure that we all got to do things that we want to do even if they weren't on the official itinerary. All in all I can safely say that my wife and I made the right decision when deciding to book a tour with "Scotland's Wild." And when we come back eventually we intend on booking with them again as well as telling anyone else that gets the chance to go to Scotland to go out of their way to have the experience of a lifetime through this company.Written 6 November 2024
- 355meredithn0 contributionsBest Highlands Experience Ever! This tour has it all! Geography, history, ecology, humor, hiking, accents, and hands down the most breathtaking views you can imagine. DO NOT MISS IT!!Written 31 October 2024

Our guide was James. One of the friendliest and most knowledgeable guides I have met. Every site, town and loch where we stopped, and almost everything we drove by had a story he knew. If you are fortunate enough to have James for your guide, be sure to ask him to tell the story of Clan Campbell, The Stone of Destiny, Robert the Bruce and ask for the song, Loch Lomond, on the return trip by the loch.
His knowledge and entertaining way of telling history made this all day tour a favorite that I will hope to repeat.
And thank you, James, for telling us about the Ceilidh. We will be looking for one now 😊

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It included a nice sampling of historic sites and opportunities to enjoy the beautiful nature of Scotland. Cal was engaging, informative and fun. His enthusiasm for his homeland radiated through his narrative and in the great 'playlist' he played. We had 8 people in our group which made it very easy to move around and allowed us to stop at more sites than if we were part of a large group. Scotland is a fantastic country and a tour w/Cal of Scotland's Wild is a great way to experience it.

I’d highly recommend this tour if you’re staying in Balloch! Not only is the route gorgeous, but it’s evident how much time and care the company puts into crafting incredible experiences for guests through thoughtfully structured travel days and an expertly built team.
This was the second tour I took with Scotland’s Wilds, and I was blown away both times by the hospitality and knowledge of their guides. This tour was guided by Cal, who could not have provided a better or more engaging tour of the historic sites we visited. He took time to learn any specific areas of interest, then made a point to highlight any information, stories, landmarks, etc. we might be excited by. He is also very funny. All made for the perfect relaxed and friendly environment, ideal for a day full of exploring.

We booked the standing stone, castles and Scottish Highlands 1 day tour.
Scotland’s Wild was so far the only operator we found to offer tours to Kilmartin Glen with Dunadd Fort and standing stones. Unmissable for anyone interested in the prehistoric and early days of Scotland.
The tour stood out through walks to the historic sites being able to take in the breathtaking scenery and atmosphere. Another plus is the small group of max. 8.
It wouldn’t have been such a fantastic unforgettable day if not for our amazing guide and driver Cal.
With his love for Scotland, his profound knowledge about Scotland’s history and nature and his humour he made this day!
Thanks

This was an amazing one-day tour. The Highlands were beautiful, covered in frost. Our guide Jim is passionate about his country and his work. He knows his history and brings it to life throughout the day to help us understand what we are looking at and to put everything into perspective. And he’s a fun guy who I hope will be the guide on my next visit.

My husband and I just moved here and we wanted to see the highlands while my mom was visiting us and this was a WONDERFUL tour. James really knows his stuff and you can tell he has a deep love for his country. We got to see a lot more than we thought we could in one day. The stops were frequent enough for rest breaks. We look forward to booking other day tours in the future!

The tour was beyond my expectations! Laura was our guide and she is what made it spectacular! She was full of information and engaging to the entire wonderful group of us. The stops were timed perfectly and gave the right amount of time to explore and see everything. Honestly, I will be booking a private tour with Laura anytime I come back to Scotland. The tour company is the only one I will recommend moving forward. Laura is a priceless gem and made the day unforgettable.

This was an amazing tour unlike any other. We stopped at the standing stones, Inverarary castle, Kilchurn castle and original Kingdom of Scotland. The small group tour allowed for lots of discussion with our guide Calum who loves Scottish history and was super knowledgeable. He was the sweetest guide always looking after everyone. Couldn’t have asked for a better, more unique Scottish experience. Highly recommend!!
