Nature’s treat at Cohuna
Apr 2021 • Couples
This morning on a glorious Autumn day, Greg took us out from Cohuna on a 1 1/2 to 2 hour Eco Kayak on the Gunbower Creek and Cahuna Lagoon. This Ramsar listed area is a revelation. Beautiful, peaceful and lots of different birds and their nests. Greg looked after the 2 of us perfectly and we learned interesting facts from him about the wildlife and river. The double kayak we were in was very stable and moved well. We will be back. Highly recommend.

A great family experience on the Gunbower
Apr 2021
We had such a wonderful time during Easter holidays in Cohuna, our 3 days canoe excursion with Greg was fantastic

This was our 1st experience in canoe with my husband and 2 boys who are 12 and 16.
Our guide named Greg gave us many insights on wildlife and ecosystem in a very entairtaining way for teenagers.
We have appreciated his ponctuality, safety approach, and flexibility to fit my husband's last minutes working duties.

Discovering 3 differents paths on the Gunbower during these 3 days was really fun.

I highly recommand giving a go.Cohuna is such a lovely place with nice people.

Well worth it!
Jan 2019
Booked the Eco Tour for my daughter. Greg is very personable - a wonderful guide and instructor. His knowledge about the local area, water management, birds and wildlife is exceptional. My daughter really enjoyed her time out on the water in the kayak. The knowledge she learnt from Greg was fantastic. The extra information about Gunbower Creek was great, it added depth to our holiday in Cohuna. I recommend anyone interested in paddling about and learning about birds and wildlife to just jump in and do it.

My partner and I had a wonderful experience kayaking with the team from Murray River Adventures last Saturday through the flooded Gunbower Forest. Beautiful surrounds and knowledgeable guides. Can’t recommend it enough, a must do on a trip to Cohuna!

Dear Melissa Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review on our Kayaking Eco Tour. It was a very special experience to be able to get out into the Flooded Gunbower Forest and I do hope the next time the forest floods isn't too far away. It was my pleasure to have been able to guide you into this magical wilderness. I do hope we get to see you again for one of our other paddling experiences. Best Regards Shannon

A great experience!
Feb 2018 • Family
I would highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting (or even locals) the beautiful Mallee region. The staff of Murry River Adventures were friendly and helpful today and they made our experience an amazing one. The Gunbower Creek is peaceful and beautiful. You can choose to do either a larger journey or stay within a smaller part of the creek (perfect for people with children, or first timers). I thought the cost per hour was very reasonable and the fact that the kayaks, canoes and stand up paddleboards are right on the waters edge meant that there was no hassle getting straight in. After our paddle we headed down to Waffles which didn’t disappoint- great servings of quality food with delicious toppings. Really enjoyed our time in Cohuna - thanks guys!

Dear Samantha, Thank you very much for taking the time to provide a review for our new business. I am so glad that you had a very positive experience at our Cohuna location, out on the Gunbower and we do hope to see you again. We all agree that finishing a paddle with hot waffles is the perfect day out. Regards Shannon

First time kayaking
Jan 2018 • Couples
My first time paddling. Found the staff really friendly and helpful. Such a great experience and an opportunity for people of various fitness and ability. We hired a double kayak and completed an approx 8km round trip in approximately 2hrs. We were a bit slow to start but once we got into the swing of things. We camped at the caravan park and found the people within Cohuna to be lovely. Highly recommend and look forward to our next Adventure on the Gunbower.
