Walk on to the jetty to the boat when ready to board. Dates: Every Wednesday and Sunday, extra cruises during peak times
- 1Board the cruiser at San Remo jetty, a picturesque fishing harbor at the start of Phillip Island bridge. On board the 'Kasey Lee or Brianna Lee catamaran choose from indoor or outdoor seating with ample space for prams and safe viewing areas all around. While you cruise along Phillip Island, be on the lookout for marine wildlife with regular sightings of Australian fur seals, bottle nose or common dolphins and various seabirds like white-bellied sea eagles, gannets and even albatross! The captain and crew provide commentary on the local historical sites of Cape Woolamai and are experts at finding fascinating wildlife. The cruise highlight is the spectacular cliff formation of Cape Woolamai as they tower over you. Explore tranquil bays with crystal clear aquamarine waters and experience the more rugged ocean around the Cape. As you cruise back to San Remo, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, along with cake and biscuits for the whole family. Ask the friendly crew for activity sheets for the kids, or let the little ones play indoors where a toy box is available. Upon arrival back at San Remo stay around for the famous pelican feeding on the beach, a daily event bringing spectators from all around to watch the resident pelicans and stingrays feed from the local fisherman's co-op.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- dbaizel0 contributionsCaptain Gets Up Close to Seals for a Pleasurable TripThis was a private excursion tour. The captain took us along the coastline narrating along the way what we are going by. He did an exceptional fine job in getting the boat up close to the seals swimming along and laying on the rocks. I got many great pictures. Not sure if it is standard part of a trip but hot coffee, tea as well as nibbles were provided. His assistants provided guidance on what was happening and narrated some biological information with regards to the seals. A great trip.Written 29 October 2024
- cehagemeyer0 contributionsExcellent tourWe went on this tour (first of the whale watching season) for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was great, didn't see whales (always luck) but lots of other animals.Written 25 June 2024
- carynnea20230 contributionsHad a whale of a timeLast cruise of the season. Fabulous afternoon. 9 whales sighted, 2 of them breaching. Seals were fascinating & fun to watch as well. The crew were all great. Would recommend to all.Written 5 November 2023
- galleygirl880 contributionsExperienced and hospitable crew, great day out!Seamless operation by the crew and captain. Felt really safe and enjoyed the day aboard their boat. Saw a range of sea life including whales and enjoyed viewing the coastline from the water.Written 1 October 2023
- IanR1690 contributionsA whale 🐳 of a dayAnother fantastic whale cruise with the WCC team at the beautiful Wilson’s Promontory……super weather conditions all day helped us thoroughly enjoy the day. The Captain and crew got us onto whales for nearly the entire cruise. So much so, we stayed out later than scheduled (with everyone’s agreement) as a single juvenile insisted in circling the boat for over 30 mins to play. We had breaches, tail slapping, muggings and spy hopping…the full Monty. Would totally recommend the cruise and a huge thank you to the crew.Written 20 September 2023
- glagrutta0 contributionsWinter Whale watchingOur Phillip Island Winter Whale watching tour was a great success. We saw two separate groups of humpback whales, numerous dolphins swimming and jumping right beside the boat, and dozens of seal pups playing in the water at Seal Rocks. The water was quite rough at times but we are OK sailors and did not become unwell. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable, and they served up some delicious treats for us. The design of the boat makes it quite easy for everyone to get a good view, from in or outsideWritten 2 July 2023
- K C0 contributionsMust do on Philip Island! We went with our kids and they both loved it. Captain was very skillful and brought us very close to the seal rock where we saw hundreds of seals in their natural habitat doing what they were best at: surfing, sunbathing, socializing and diving. The staff on the boat was friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. We would definitely do it again in the future. Even if you are not a huge fan of the seals, the ride out from Cowes to the seal rock is worth the price itself!Written 15 April 2023
- sannieong0 contributionsAmazing experienceAmazing customer service, many seals to watch. The colony is ashort ride away from port phillip. We stop long enough for pictures and videosWritten 27 March 2023
- Wheels123oops0 contributionsGood and badOverall the staff were friendly however the wheelchair accessibility was pretty much non existent which is disgusting for this day and age.Written 18 March 2023
- catkid30 contributionsFantastic opportunity to view wild sealsFantastic two hour cruise that also goes past the Nobbies and multiple beaches along Phillip Island. We spent quite a bit of time at Seal Rock, which was fabulous as we got to watch hundreds of seals jumping and playing in the water; some even came up to the boat for a sniff. Only downside: I was a bit annoyed to be offered a professional 'boarding photo', only to be told later that it would cost an extra $15 to take home. Given that the cruise is already over $80, I would have thought something like that would be included; maybe inform guests before taking the photo that there is a charge?Written 19 February 2023
- LisaMaree20230 contributionsGreat ExperienceThe cruise was a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly and the captain was great. Unfortunately not a brilliant sunset but was still worth it.Written 20 January 2023
- jadeo5190 contributionsAmazing! This is a must doI had the best day on their seal rocks tour. It was amazing. They have coffee and drink on board and you can purchase soft drinks. They also served us cake and have colouring in for the kids. Highly recommendWritten 9 January 2023
- emmamariesydney0 contributionsFantastic Seal CruiseWildlife Coast Cruises took us out to the seal rocks on a fantastic afternoon cruise. We had a great afternoon cruising, seeing the seals up and close and enjoying the various areas of the boat. There is plenty of different spots to enjoy the waters on the boat including up front, bar area, indoor and outdoor top decks. The staff were friendly and attentive. Great value for money.Written 8 January 2023
- H3737DYnicoles0 contributionsExcellent timeThe sunset cruise was such an amazing experience I would recommend it to anyone . We all had the best time . The crew were amazing also .Written 27 November 2022
- Sarah O0 contributionsExtremely underwhelmingOn reading previous reviews I was excited for this cruise, only to be left quite disappointed. There was zero commentary/information given on board and the sail was up the coast and back again. I would have loved to learn about the history of the island or hear about the wildlife around the island but no.. we were welcomed on board and then thanked as we were leaving. That was it. Definitely not worth what we paid.. the snack boxes given out were the only reason I didn’t give this trip 1/5. The girls working on the boat were pleasant also. Save your money and have a walk along the beach instead. Waste of time in my opinion.Written 12 November 2022

It was so worth it! Loved the rock formations! Stood out back and held on when the boat turned around and the crew gal was right! It was like the boat was surfing! The naration of what we were seeing was very interesting. All the crew we met were top notch . Thank you for a great experience🙂

This was a most interesting tour, only takes an hour and great value for money. Captain very informative. Sights of the rock formations and history of the area were amazing. In order to appreciate the diversity of Phillip Island you need to do this tour.

We chose the one hour cruise with Wild Life Coast Cruise’s, to Cape Woolamai. $30 per adult. Discounts for concession children . This cruise departs from San Remo in Victoria, which is just at the base of the bridge before Phillip Island. Approx 2 hrs from Melbourne CBD. A lovely morning cruise, comfortable boat with seating outside and in.
Good informative commentary. The jagged escarpment along the coastline was stunning. Got to see a seal up close which the kids loved! You get a piece of cake, which the crew brings round, good if your up on top deck, and tea coffee which you can make yourself. A really lovely relaxing morning. Plenty of parking in SAN Remo and its not far to walk if you have mobility issues. Good website, booked online easy. Back in time to watch the pelicans get their lunch from the fisherman’s co op. Definitely recommend. Friendly crew. A must if holidaying in or near Phillip Island , or a great day trip.

The Whale and Dolphin Cruise was fantastic
Our Captain John was very knowledgeable and made us all feel like he was really wanting to please us with sightings of whales. All the other staff could not have been anymore pleasant or helpful. Unfortunately no dolphins that day.
We got to see a few whales which was exciting for all of us. Also a bonus seeing the caves and rock formation up close at. Cape Woolamai .
Afternoon tea was good and nice that it was served.
The only suggestion I could make and maybe it is not feasible, but it would be nice to have an Urn upstairs with tea and Coffee. Once you are upstairs you really don’t want to go down in case you miss a sighting and also it is a juggle coming back upstairs with a coffee. As I said it would be nice to have the facility upstairs but maybe there is a reason there isn’t.
Everyone in our group thought it was great.
