Historic Tennessee - Southern Plantations and Presidents

Overview
See two southern plantations from Nashville—the Hermitage, home of former president Andrew Jackson, and Belle Meade Mansion—without having to rent a car. On this tour, journey back in time with your guide and visit both historic locations in one day, with time for a traditional Southern lunch (own expense). The day ends with a relaxing wine tasting.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your downtown Nashville hotel. Drive 30 minutes to the Hermitage, a plantation that was once home to former president Andrew Jackson. Visit the museum, explore the mansion, and wander through the grounds. See old farm buildings, slave sites, a tulip grove, church, and more.
Stop for a Southern buffet lunch on the Hermitage grounds (own expense) before heading to the Belle Meade Plantation, also known as the Queen of Tennessee Plantations. Once a thoroughbred horse farm and nursery in the 19th century, the mansion has an original stable, carriage house, dairy, slave cabins, and more to tour. When finished, stop for a wine tasting at the Belle Meade Plantation.
The tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Don't trust the staff making the bookings at the riverfront

I inquired about this tour several days in advance while in Nashville doing a different tour with the same company. I was told this tour was filling up fast and only had a few seats left. This was a LIE. The tour was not even...More

Historic Tennessee Tour - Belle Meade Mansion and Hermitage

We really enjoyed the tour. We were picked up at our hotel on time, and our tour guide was very informative.

Afternoon Adventure

Belle Meade was beautiful, however our guide was disinterested and did not seem excited to be taking us on a tour. The lunch was a 1950s buffet, it would be MUCH better if we could have chosen a more upbeat location where we could choose...More

Great tour guide

Our tour guide was excellent, as was the driver that picked us up from the hotel. The tour itself was great. We understood that lunch was optional, and it was really not. We stopped at a restaurant, where it wasn't a choice not to eat....More

Good way to cover a lot in one day

Belle Meade -- this was a very interesting stop and who knew that Tennessee was known for race horses? Thought that was all in KY. The wine tasting was nice at the end of this stop and our tour docent was lovely. The time allowed...More

The buffet was definitely separate. Our guide said that it used to be included, but that some people chose to do something else, so they didn't include it anymore. I don't remember the price but it seems like $12-$15.

I’m not sure. The gardens were very beautiful. How cold does it get in Tennessee. You might want to put this on forum.
