Highlights
Guided all-terrain vehicle tour of Lower Monument Valley
Choose from a sunrise or sunset tour: the most photogenic parts of the day
Navigate the park with ease alongside a guide
Tour custom created by guides to showcase their favorite parts of Lower Monument Valley
What to expect
Your guide meets you in the lobby of your hotel, where you'll prepare for a scenic drive to Monument Valley in an all-terrain vehicle. You'll have access to parts of the park that are off-limits to smaller cars. Located on a Navajo Reservation and considered sacred by Native American tribes, the multi-hued sandstone park can be tough to navigate alone. Your guide walks you through the history and background of each natural formation. With your choice of a sunrise or sunset tour, you’re guaranteed camera-ready views during the sun-kissed time of day known by photographers as the “Golden Hour.” The itineraries are fully customizable, so you’ll have your pick of some incredible spots, including iconic rock formations like John Ford’s Point, which served as film backdrop in many John Wayne Westerns. One of the most photographed rocks is the Yei Bi Chei, which resembles a line of tribal dancers. You’ll also get an opportunity to take pictures of the Big Hogan, a sandstone cave chamber, and Ear of the Wind, a mesmerizing, crimson-colored arch.

Our guide Harry made the valley come alive for us.
Feb 2020
A trusted friend recommended we choose a Native-guided sunrise tour if we wanted the most from our long drive to Monument Valley. We were 2 couples traveling together and we all agree this is the best way to go. I called Dineh Bekeyah directly to book the tour and this was very helpful to get the right guide. Our guide, Harry Nez, Jr., was perfect. Harry is a professional guide, father, and grandfather. Mostly, he is a real and warm person. He met us before sunrise at The View motel. He loaded the 4 of us into his Chevy SUV and off we went. We stopped at The Mittens to take some dawn pics and get to know each other. Harry is a photographer and shared his favorite scenes with us both for natural beauty and for our travel pics. He showed us how to use our Apple and Samsung phones to do some amazing things.

Harry knows this land and the sun's rising and timed the tour so we could share his excitement in the various ways the light grows in the valley. This made every stop along the breathtaking. Along the way, he shared about some of the families that live in the valley and the challenges of living there. Harry plays a beautiful flute and the sound echoing through the rock of "Big Hogan" was a special treat.

We recommend Harry Nez Jr / Dineh Bekeyah Tours' Sunrise (3 hour) tour. We recommend a Sunrise tour because the park is not open to the public yet. We were able to experience the valley without distraction of other people and traffic.

Memorable and fun sunrise tour
We had a sunrise tour with Harry Nez. Harry made it a wonderful experience. Harry told us about the history of Monument Valley. He took photos and showed us how to take photos. We have panoramic and reflection photos as well as Group photos. He shared information about people living within the tribal park. He taught us Navajo words. We saw arches, the mittens, 3 sisters, etc

Beautiful sites
Early morning versus evening photo ops abound. Brilliant colors at each. Less chance of background things like vehicle lights in early dawn but timing is what is important. Both were beautiful.

A great tour with a wonderful guide.
Dec 2019
We had visited Monument Valley before, but just driven the loop ourselves. This time we had the sunset tour and this included stops at all the best places plus a load more that you could only access with the tour. We also saw demonstrations by the tribe of handed down skills and listened to the stories and explanation, and singing, of our wonderful guide Marjorie Gray. As sun set we were at the perfect point. We saw so much more than just driving the loop ourselves, and had a great trip, and got loads of pictures.

A Must To Experience Monument Vally
Nov 2019
Our tour guide,Harry added mountains of information about Monument Valley. So much history with even a song by our tour guide in Navajo. It was a great experience for my wife and I. We took the sunset tour to get great photos. Fortunately Harry knew a lot about photography and helped myself and others on the tour.
Lots of history about Hollywood and how the movie industry took advantage of the beautiful scenery.

Best Experience of our Holiday
Nov 2019
We did the Sunrise trip with Harry and had the best time. You are able to go to places impossible to reach in your rental car with a local guide. Harry is also a fantastic photographer and I am an enthisiastic amateur who has been trying to master my DSLR for the last year. Harry was very generous with his advice and even let me use his tripod. Harry inspired me to buy my own and take some night shots in Sedona. Harry gives you so much information but you do not feel overloaded and also give you the time to absorb this beautiful place. Highly recommend this tour and Harry (picture attached)

We had 2 personal tours with this company. Owner Charlene was very accommodating. Derick was our guide for both the sunset and ancient ruins tour. Each were 3 1/2 hours. Derick was so kind to share many stories of his and the Navajo history. If we would go back we would ask for Derick. Our sunset trip was in an open air vehicle. Weather was chilly so do your homework on the temperatures. .We were very grateful for this unique experience.

Fantastic sunrise tour
Oct 2019 • Family
Jerry our tour guide did a brilliant job of showing us the amazing scenery of Monument valley just when the sun was perfect and away from all other people. He was very knowledgeable and happy to share his tales. He was very helpful also with photography tips. It certainly was a sunrise we will never forget.

We saw a lot and photographed a lot
Our guide, Harry Nez was so knowledgeable about the area and how to capture some o
f the unique beauty in photographs. He knows a lot about various cameras and cell phones to help those on the tour do things with our equipment that we never knew was possible. He treated us to some of his flute music in a natural a natural amphitheater/grotto. He is a wealth of information about the area, which helped us gain a great appreciation for Monument Valley and the Navajo nation. It was a great late afternoon tour.
