We LOVED Featherdale! We wanted to see Australian animals we wouldn't be able to see anywhere else and get up close and personal with kangaroos and koalas which is why we chose here instead of the Taronga zoo. It was easy to get there via public transport from where we were staying in Surry Hills (Sydney) and the admission prices were very reasonable. Best of all we got to pet a koala + feed wallabies and kangaroos while they jumped around in an open area with us. It was so cool! They have a ton of other awesome animals too like emus, cassowaries, tasmanian devils, fairy penguins, wombats, the most poisonous snake in the world, and a huge variety of awesome birds and I'm sure I'm forgetting so many more. Highly recommend!

Excellent display of koalas - we especially loved the showing of female koalas with their babies.

Great encounters with Tasmania Devils, vast array of birds and other native animals including echidnas and wombats.

The one disappointment was the cafe. Cafe was not adequately staffed (making for a long slow queue) and food selection was very poor (sandwiches were white bread only). The food was also overpriced especially given the poor quality.

This is a wonderful place to visit . It has good parking facilities , a gift shop , a Coffee shop and plenty of Toilets throughout the park . Also we noticed lots of places to wash your hands after stroking or feeding the animals . This is very important . Small cones of Kangaroo Food can be purchased with your admission ticket . The focus of the Park is on Australian Wildlife and the range of animals they have is huge. . We were very pleased to see that all the animals were very well cared for with plenty of fresh food & Water . We have seen some Zoo's that do not do a very good job in that regard . We were impressed by the staff who apart from their friendliness and helpfulness were continually observed cleaning animal enclosures thoroughly . Well done .
There are a lot of hands on attractions and plenty for kids to see & do .

The park is reasonably priced at 71 aud for 2 adults, the cafe is reasonably priced at13 aud for hotdog, chips and a drink. My highlights were having a photo with a Koala and a Joey, seeing many animals native to Australia. Overall the park was clean, the staff were a pleasure to talk to. And a lovely afternoon was had by all of us . 🦜🦘🐨

We were over in Sydney visiting our son and were looking for an easy way to spend some time together. Featherdale came up and we decided to take the 1 hour trip from where we were staying.
it was certainly worth the trip. Although the park is relatively small if has a large number of native animals. We were surprised at how many Koala's there were and the chance to feed the roos was great! However our favourite was the Echidna's who were very active during our visit and was something we had not seen before.
So all in all it was a great day out, in a relaxing atmosphere and gave us the chance to spend some quality time together.

Took advantage of promotion to visit with kids free on adult ticket, combined with free public transport whilst in town.

Doonside can be considered a bit of a trek to get to but if you can get there reasonably easily, it’s absolutely worth the visit.

We miss Oz and looked forward to seeing koalas, wombats, quokkas and the kangaroos and more. This place had koalas in spades. The habitat setup was quite well done and the animals seem pretty happy. The staff were very friendly and were happy to find answers for questions if they didn’t know it. To top it off, you can do very reasonably priced photo packages with a koala and pat it. From our previous oz trip, the koala encounter at the wild life centre was a bit more restrictive (but it may have changed since)

The wait at the canteen is a bit long but the stuff there were also quite friendly and patient.

We tossed up between visiting this place and the wild life place at darling harbour and are so glad we came here for a change.

The park is easy to navigate, most paths are sealed. Animals are easily accessed. for friendly feeding. We went with a nearly 3 year old and he had a ball. Fed animals, patted snakes, picked up feathers, patted sheep, watched the keepers clean out water troughs, followed the visiting school kids. We were there for about 3 hours and he was exhausted by then. A word of advice though, get the sandwiches toasted at the cafe. We got 'fresh' but, sadly, the bread was really dry. Maybe, also, the park could consider putting in some water fountains and water bottle filling stations around the park. If you are over on the far side and need water, it's a bit of a walk for a 3 year old who's thirsty to go back to near the entrance to the cafe.

We ride the train and a short bus ride from Sydney - under 4$ each way plus we saw some off the suburbs - and the bus dropped us at the front door. Featherdale has taken in animals from other places because if the fires and we were able to see EVERYTHING we hoped for plus more.

I am not huge on zoos, but they do a lot of rescue and rehab here. I was very happy we did the trip.

This is the best place I reckon to see Koala's. I chose to do the Encounter which cost me $50 each for 2 people. We got up close and were able to pat them and feed them and take heaps of photo's. Keeper was very informative. It was just the 2 of us.
But if you don't want to do this just paying the general admission you get to see lots of Koala's up close. There are alot of Koala's here. Didn't feel overcrowded. Lots of space. Other Aussie animals too. There is also another option where you can pay $25 to get your photo taken with a Koala. Great place.

Thank you Koalaann for a 5-Star score and review! We loved to hear that you had an amazing experience in our newly launched Koala Kindy Encounter, getting up close to our mum and bub koala's and very glad to hear that you enjoyed the rest of the park too! Did you know that we have the largest family of Koala's in NSW and are the only place in Sydney where you can pat a koala? We look forward to seeing you at Featherdale again in the future :)

I took the train from Sydney and got the lay of the land. Short bus ride to park. This is a great Australia-centric zoo, almost all animals are from Australia so a good first day to learn about the animals so I can locate them when I’m out in the national parks and cities.
Amazing number of birds and all displays appeared as adequately sized as can be for captive animals. It is a good educational stop.
