About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Global5527410 contributionsPerfect Avalanche Fundamentals courseI took an awesome Avalanche Fundamentals for backcountry skiing with Jack at Alpental. The class was the perfect mix of learning fundamentals and practicing skillsets in the field. We learned how to read and interpret forecasts, what to consider when planning a tour/plan, how to judge slope and terrain, what to consider before going touring, and how human/group factors influence decision making. Jack is a great instructor who explains concepts very clearly, can confidently lead a group with mixed levels of prior experience, and I appreciated having his years of guiding + expertise on hand for challenging questions about risk management in the backcountry.Written 21 December 2021
- sashekod0 contributionsGreat entry to backcountryGreat entry course to raise avalanche safety awareness. Jack is a great educator with attention to details and personal approach. We did a rescue training, snow reading, human factor study and backcountry protocols basics. Highly recommend this course to be safe and reliable companion in backcountryWritten 20 December 2021

Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

THAT TRIP WAS AWESOME!!! I highly recommend it. Yes, it was scary. But it was so worth it. My girlfriend took me for my birthday and it was one of the coolest presents I've ever received. We were both super impressed with our guide Jack -- so competent and an awesome communicator and conversationalist. He was so patient with us being afraid and all, but did an awesome job coaching us through it.
Definitely give this a try if you get the chance.
