Covid itinerary change
Oct 2021 • Family
Booked this trip last minute since we could no longer go to sequoia NP due to the wildfires. Tour guide and bus driver were wonderful though the tour guide shared a lot of opinions that I felt could’ve been excluded. Big con is that the itinerary listed on TripAdvisor wasn’t accurate. The tour no longer stops at pigeon point nor Davenport which were really nice spots along highway 1 that would’ve been nice to snap photos of. Instead, it stops at half moon bay which really was a coffee and bathroom pit stop about 30 min into the trip which I felt was unnecessary - no scenic views here. After that is a 2 hr stop in Monterey, 10 min stop at bird rock, 5 min stop at lone cypress, 30 min stop at the golf course and finally 1 hr stop at Carmel. We didn’t get back until 8:30 pm. Tour was overall great but wish there were more stops along the scenic viewpoints in the first half of the trip.

Great experience of Coastal California
Sep 2021
First and foremost, Antonio was terrific and went out of his way for everyone's enjoyment. He interacted with the guests, was friendly and bought the whole bus fresh strawberries from a local farm stand! You also knew he loved his home state. As far as the tour... well I guess I was expecting more coastal scenery and quaint towns. I was a bit disappointed in Monterrey as it was extremely touristy and 2.5 hours was far too long a stop. Meanwhile, Carmel was much prettier and we only had an hour... would have liked to switch it around and have lunch in Carmel (too pricey and too short of a stop for dinner) and end the tour with a shorter stop in Monterrey. Pebble beach was nice for a bathroom & coffee break. The highlights for me on the 17 mile drive were Seal Rock and of course the famous lone Cypress. I for one am very unimpressed with gawking and fawning over the homes of the wealthy and their playgrounds. I enjoyed the drive down along Hwy 1 along the coast far more than the 17 mile drive. That included a coffee stop and a lighthouse. The day was a bit long but the bus was comfortable and views were magnificent along the way.

Hello lisagZ9371VD, Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review and for letting us know how you feel. We appreciate your kind words about Antonio; he remembers having lots of fun with your group and is looking forward to seeing you again soon! Our tour sets a longer stop in Monterey to allow enough time for our customers to visit the Aquarium, which makes the visit much more complete. I agree that the 17mile drive is a landmark that anyone must visit at least once in a lifetime. I still remember the first time I saw the lonely cypress. It was a memorable scene. We’re very grateful for customers like you and hope you stick with us for years to come! Andrew Sales Manager Gray Line San Francisco

Nice views from a comfortable coach bus
Good way to see the coast line and get out of the city for the day. Would have liked more time in Carmel and more time out of the bus to walk around outside personally. This tour is set up to view almost everything through the bus window, which is fine if that’s your style. There were so many beautiful things that I wanted to get out and experience, but we kept driving. The tour operator was friendly enough but seemed to interject a lot of opinions throughout his talks, which we didn’t feel was necessary with the different views on some of the things he mentioned. Would have just liked facts and education about the areas.

Awesome Day Trip
A great day trip with great views. A nice stop in Monterey for a couple hours to shop and have lunch. The 17 mile drive is very scenic with many stops for photos. There is a nice stop for photos and shopping at Pebble Beach. This is a golf fan must see. Last stop is in Carmel for shopping and dining. A great way to see different areas of California without the stress of driving,

Amazing Trip with Gorgeous Views
Aug 2021 • Solo
The guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. The timeline of the trip was maintained as planned. The views were gorgeous and the bus was comfortable.I recommend you sit in the right side of the bus (opposite side of the forever) as the views are on the right side throughout the trip. I had the opportunity to explore local shops in Monterey and in Carmel. I recommend this trip for people who are not looking for active trip as this is not considered an active trip or a hiking trip, rather, it is a trip view the ocean and the two mentioned cities. I had the chance to have lunch and coffee in the local areas. I recommend you get the chowder bread bow soup from Fish Hopper restaurant in Monterey.

Unpleasant experience
Jul 2021
I am writing this review within 5 days of the trip, and the memory is really fresh. As soon as we got on the bus, the driver who was also our tour guide started emphasizing how back in the day how people know how to behave and had etiquettes. We thought that is a fair point considering everyone on the trip needs to enjoy. But, as the tour went on, Thomas basically started shushing people when they were talking among themselves. He was doing it over the mic, when people who were sitting rows behind them could not hear them talking. We had a toddler, and we didn't want to disturb other people, so we sat all the way in the back. We too were told over the mic to keep the kid quiet, and how he has two kids and does the same thing. When buying tickets they specifically ask you how many kids and how many under 2. So, they are giving us the option they need to accommodate kids. I cannot enjoy the tour as a quiet spectator without even talking to my spouse for the fear of public embarrassment. The selling point of the trip is that you don't have to drive. But, if you have the option of driving that'll be a better option. All in all, very unpleasant experience.
