I had a good time going to Madame Tussauds. It was interesting seeing wax figures of local San Francisco celebrities, government officials, Robin Williams, and more. They have a section on actors, siingers, athletes, and others.

There is also a section describing how they make the wax figures.

I got my ticket as a free ticket offer after buying my ticket to the aquarium.

I spent about an hour at the museum.

My wife took our kids and myself on my birthday. It was an interesting experience. We had to escape from Alcatraz/jail. It required team work. The rules are clearly explained before you begin.

We visited the one in Vegas, and I liked this one better. It was more interactive, there were more props for photos etc and it was a very different experience in my opinion.

They had a lot of stars there and they made it really fun by putting props next to the stars where you could put a hat on and a jacket and act like you’re dancing with Michael Jackson. I highly recommend doing this!! It wasn’t extremely busy so we were able to take our time and have fun with it.

For those who like celebrities, it was good. Personally, wax figures aren’t my fave, but about 60% of them were very good. There were a couple of shockers (Elvis doesn’t look much like Elvis).
I liked the couple of interactive pieces they had for guests to participate in.
I actually thought there would be more figures too, but there were enough I guess.
If you don’t like celebrities, perhaps it’s not for you, but celebrity fans will like it.

Visited Madame Tussauds to view its wax figures. All were life-like. Pics taken with wax figures came out very life like and unbelievably good. We should have taken more pics.

We did a visit to the wax museum in conjunction with the Dungeon. It wasn’t very busy on the day we went and we enjoyed snapping photos with the wax celebrities. It didn’t take us long to go through. The man showing us into the elevator told us to get off on 2. After going through it, we thought 3 might have been a better starting point. There was an area with some type of virtual reality activities. When we stopped to talk to the person operating it, he said he didn’t think it was much fun and didn’t recommend it. We thought that was strange. But we weren’t very interested anyway. I wouldn’t have paid full price but as a combo ticket, it was worth a walk through. Not sure how enjoyable it would have been if crowded. We were there on a week day in late May.

We had never visited this type of exhibition but decided to give it a try in San Francisco. What a pleasant surprise, to see all these familiar people so well done. It's almost as if they were there alive, next to you. The eyes and the faces as a whole were most impressive. Persons from politics, from Abe Lincoln to Obama, from the movies, from Marilyn Monroe to Robin Williams....it was really fun. Take pictures with them and enjoy it. Highly recommend it.

Having never visited a Madame Tussauds (and we live in London near supposedly the best one), we had no idea what to expect. The entrance was included with our Go City passes so we went in as we were passing!
Although we did not know who all of the people were we had a great time, especially as you can stand next to all of the models for photos - so much so that apparently we NEED to now go to the one in London!
However be warned that the ladies toilets were disgusting - the smell was dreadful and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired - the public toilets in the shopping place up the road were far better!
As we didn't pay the entrance fee we have no idea if this is value for money or not, but who really cares, we had a good time!

Thank you for your review. While I'm delighted to hear that you had fun, your description of our restrooms shows we can try harder. We hope to have an opportunity to do just that again in the future. Thanks for taking time to give us this valuable feedback. Matthew

When I was a kid and you'd go to a Tussauds (or any other) wax museum, you were kept behind ropes to gaze at the was figures from afar. Apparently our selfie culture has rendered that moot and now you're encouraged to do whatever you want with the figures as they are out in the open for you. Sit next to Al Capone, ride the bus with Rosa Parks, watch your career fade with Nicolas Cage. I remember these places used to be more about the artistry and set design. They have a corner dedicated to how they are made, but it's really just a pop culture doppelganger warehouse now. Or maybe I'm just not 8 year old anymore and its not 1983.
